When I drove on high way or local, suddenly the car is power off, engine and power steering do not work at all, need pull over restart several times, then drive a while this happen again. This happened several times in the past years. I got recall 14350 and the dealer fixed the key ring, I thought the power off problem is gone, but it happened again, this may cause crash and serious injury. I don't know what I can do for this, I cannot afford new car and definitely will not sold this defect car to anyone else.

5 Steering problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Failure Date: 07/10/2014

After rounding a curve and seeing a deer and thinking how lucky I was that it didn't jump out in front of me, my engine died and I lost control of the vehicle. It went off into the drivers side ditch and hit a field driveway culvert with the divers side tire, which ultimately bent the frame and totaled my car. . However, the airbags did deploy and I had only a minor injury. My elbow went through a drivers side air vent. Since my car is totaled and the recall sounds like it was the cause, can I get my car fixed or some kind of compensation? I had a lot of keys on my car ring as a work for the city.

6 Steering problem of the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Failure Date: 05/12/2014

The ignition switch -- which was replaced in 2012 with a new gm dealer part -- turns by itself to the acc setting while driving (engine cuts out and power steering loses power). I suspect that this is related to the gm ignition switch recall problem, but since this model is not on the recall list, I am encountering a challenge to get it repaired. Please phone only -- not an e-mail user.

8 Steering problem of the 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Failure Date: 02/20/2014

I ran up a curb to avoid rear-ending a vehicle and a part called the power steering cooler hose (gmpart # 26074657) was damaged, causing the loss of the power steering fluid and therefore the loss of power steering. This part is no longer available from gm, the part is flimsyly installed with retainers that do not secure the hose properly. Over time the hose could dismount from the retainers and anything that hits it could cause a loss of power steering. At the moment an otherwise good vehicle is disabled due to the lack of this part. Can you help?.

9 Steering problem of the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Failure Date: 10/07/2013

When driving my 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue at approximately 45mph I hit a very large pot hole in the street. It jarred the vehicle and switched the ignition in my vehicle off. I lost power in the vehicle and my ability to properly steer the vehicle. I was thankfully in a lane where I was able to pull the vehicle over without issue (power steering was not available and the wheel was almost locked and it required a lot of pulling to be able to pull over) and restart the car. I did have a large/heavy key ring on my keys at that time.

Failure Date: 02/02/2009

Father in law went into the hospital and asked us ( daughter and son in -law) to move his car to are house while he was gone. I drove it to our house and had a hard time turning left. I asked my father in-law how long this had been like this and he said about 3 years. I started asking friends and looking on the internet for some advice on why. I found several possible causes and someone suggested that I check for vehicle recalls. I found one that fit perfectly, I called the Oldsmobile 800 number and gave the lady the cars VIN # and she said that although the car was listed the VIN # wasn't included in the recall, but she said I could take it to a gm dealer and they could inspect it to see if it fit the recall and could be added I went to the dealer and they said that the recall didn't apply and there was nothing they could do. So I called Oldsmobile back and they said I was given incorrect information. I went through all the vehicle info again and they said that they couldn't fine the recall at all (I got it off you website recall #03082).

23 Steering problem of the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Failure Date: 01/23/2005

I have previously filed one complaint in regard to this issue with gm corp. I own a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue, not one that was recalled, however due to the unsafe, eratic, spontanious steering of this vehicle I feel that it should be further investigated. The problem with it is that when I turn my steering wheel to one side or the other all the way, at usually a low speed, it is almost impossible to get the steering system to "turn back", except sometimes, it lashes back around causing my vehicle to go the opposite direction, while turned the other way, the wheel just will not stay at that spot, it comes back around. . . And hard! if it does not exibit either of these two signs, then it makes a horrible sound and is very hard to turn. At normal speeds (on roadways, etc) it is okay, however at slow speeds mostly in parking lots etc. Is when the problems occur. I almost hit a pedestrian in a parking lot the other day, after turning out, and having the steering "whip" back around and the vehicle go the other way. I was able to regain control of my car because as I mentioned, it was at a slow speed. But what about when it happens again? my 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue was not apart of a nation-wide recall of the cars that have the exact same problem!.

The engine then may not restart for several min. Takes several attempps to get going again. If a person had to get to a hospital on time it could make the differance between life or death.
