Failure Date: 03/19/2004

Clock spring problem: my 1998 Grand Voyager had the same symptoms and problems subject to the recall but the dealer and Chrysler insist my vechicle not covered by recall. I explained that maybe the problem is more widespread than they admitted, as I can see from your site ,at least 109 others agree with me.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2003

While traveling on the highway and without prior warning air bag light appeared on the dashboard. Also, there was no horn. Dealer was aware of the problem.

5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2002

Early fall service engine soon light on. Dealer charged several hundred dollars to fix. Soon after air bag lite came on while driving but often went off or flickered. Believed it was loose wire or fuse, caused by dealer fixing previous problem. So did not believe it was urgent. However now cruise control does not work either. Became alarmed that problems were connected and air bag may not be functioning, and that this problem may be dangerous. Went to NHTSA site and was shocked to see recall notice posted for air bag lite/no cruise control clock spring problem. I am concerned because my vehicle has more than 70,000 miles on it but it was manufactured in 2/98, within the recall parameters please advise. I will be contacting my dealer as well. Thank you for your oversight of this problem. Dt.

11 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2001

Air bag clockspring has shorted out on this vechicle, as reported to me by russ darrow (dearlership) I tried to contact Chrysler about this problem they refused to take any information on it. To have a air bag componet fail on a three year old vechicle is both dangerous and ridiculous.

12 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/28/1998

False deployment of air bag when running over a rock, resulting in hitting consumer in nose and chin, and damages to vehicle.

13 Air Bag problem

Abs light illuminated, and the horn stopped operating. Dealer determined that air bag clock spring had to be replaced.

14 Air Bag problem

This clockspring assembly failed over a period of time, begining in about 2000 with the cruise control failure. This was followed by the airbag failure, as manifested by the airbag check lamp remaining on. Finally, the horn failed to work. I subsequently replaced the clockspring assembly this month, which repaired all the above problems. I have the defective clockspring, and am willing send it to you for analysis if you so desire.
