Vehicle caught on fire while parked in a parking lot. Upon exiting the vehicle consumer noticed smoke, then flames coming from the engine compartment. Fire department was called, and they extinguished the fire. The fire inspector indicated that the fire may have been caused by an oil leak, but they were not sure. Vehicle was totaled.

Pulling out of parking lot across 2-way traffic, heard loud clunk, then transmission lost power. Barely managed to pull off shoulder. No fwd or reverse. Dealer states transmission needs replacement ($1957). Since out of warranty, Chrysler corp. Unwilling to help - claim to not be aware of transmission problems on this yr/make/model. Also, dealer states vehicle leaking oil past cam shaft seals. Replacement to cost $1200. Have paid over $3000 on many other prior repairs on vehicle.
There is a severe upper engine oil leak that from an undetermined location. Oil under pressure sprays the engine comparment, including the engine bloc, and burns.
