Three problems related to engine head gasket failure have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Headgasket started leaking at 48951 miles in April 2000. Head gasket was replaced on January 4, 2001. Company admitted that they had a problem with head gaskets on this model.
Engine head gasket failure, resulting in oil leak.
The consumer has experience the following: noise coming from the rear brakes, noise when starting the engine/uneven idle, the check engine light had come on/burned #5 exhaust valve-removed head/replaced valve/reassembled engine, the engine is knocking/internal rod knocking-engine had an oil leak/replaced gasket & the rear main seal is leaking (the vehicle is going thru 2-3 quarts per month), and when engaging in gear, the engine moves hard.
