Warning Light On problems of the 1997 Plymouth Voyager

Two problems related to warning light on have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2001

On the morning of sept 28, 2001, I started my '97 Plymouth Voyager to begin a vacation trip. After a few minutes with the engine running, I noticed that the air bag warning light stayed illuminated. During the trip, I also discovered that neither the horn nor the cruise control worked. These symptoms appear similar to recall #01v153000. .

2 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2000

The dashboard airbag warning light began to stay on continually. Under warranty, in March of 2000, the dealer replaced both the airbag and the clockspring assembly. The problem appeared to be fixed. However, I began noting several months ago that the airbag warning light will come on at random times. I spoke to the dealer's service rep and I was told that the clockspring was again defective. I have learned that Chrysler has replaced some 124,000 of these at customer cost. This is a definite safety issue and Chrysler needs to do a recall ASAP. Don't let them stall for years as you let them do with the engine fire recall. I just had that done, some 2 and a half years after the problem was apparent.
