Coolant pipe start to fail for the model year 2004-2006. The material for coolant pipe was made of plastic and it resulted in a disintegration of pipe overtime due to temperature changes. Porsche technicians identified this issue and Porsche engineers also identified this issue. They came up with a replacement part which is made of aluminum to mitigate damages to the engine due to sudden failure of coolant pipe. If the pipe busted, it will cause the vehicle to fail during operation and may result in a hazardous incident causing environmental issue and possibly injury to the driver and its passenger. It is highly recommend that Porsche to recall this product and replace it for all defect to prevent further incident. Additionally, this is an engineering flaw so the cost to repair, replace or to upgrade cannot be the owner responsibility.
Water pump failure. Original part has plastic impeller and high failure rate dealer wii replace with upgraded part but no reembursement.
Original engine cooling tubes defective, plastic composition. Can fail without indication causing overheated engine at any time. Replacement parts are upgraded to metal. No recall and maker will not reemburse damage or repair.
I own a Porsche, Cayenne s 2006 model. I was traveling to las vegas, nv from home (garden grove, CA) . All of sudden there was coolant check signal came on so I have exited from freeway and added more coolant. However the coolant check signal wouldn't go off and the temp went up so high that I had to pull over to the side of the road. Make the story short, my whole family spent next 5 hours out on 110f sunlight without ac. I have found out that coolant pipes were made with plastic which cannot withhold the heat which vehicle generates. And although Porsche has changed the parts to aluminum they still haven't recalled these vehicles. They, Porsche, are aware of this issue and yet they are not recalling these vehicles. Also they are not willing to pay for my repair. Although there wasn't any injuries at this incidents but we could have been in serious trouble due to dehydration, especially 2 of my kids (12y & 13y). What if other family gets stranded without any source of help. I would be greatly appreciated if you could help me with this issue. Thank you.
