Front Air Bag Sensor Control Problems of SAAB 9-3

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 SAAB 93. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag sensor light would remain illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the cause of the failure. The manufacturer and local dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000. Jft.

On July 25 2008, my daughter was driving my 2004 SAAB 9-3 sport sedan. She went off the road, side swiping 2 trees before slamming into a drainage pipe/embankment. The left side curtain airbags were the only ones that deployed. The car is a total loss with extensive front-end damage. If not for her wearing her seat belt, I would likely be making funeral arrangements. This is the second front-end collision with this vehicle without the airbags deploying. I questioned SAAB in 2004 about the first incident which their reply was that the car performed as it was designed. That accident was significant enough to trigger all the seat belt sensors and fry the main computer.

I have a brand new SAAB. 2006 model bought in September 2006. Since I have the car the driver's side airbag malfunction ed. Light has gone on three times, and had to be repaired. If the airbag was not working it can cost me my life.

Owner was driving at approximately 65 mph the check engine light came on and the vehicle stalled. Vehicle "b" rear ended owner's vehicle while being driven at 70 mph. Upon impact, the frontal air bags failed to deploy. Owner sustained injuries, was taken to the emergency room and released.

Air bag defect(s). Eight SAAB certified service technician attempts to correct faulty safety system, without success. I believe this vehicle to be unsafe for on-road and/or highway travel. I have already notified SAAB (manufacturer) many times via email and telephone, again without follow up from manufacturer.

SAAB 93 - linear - 2003 - after 71 miles the onboard computer system displayed a warning light and buzzer - air bag malfunction - call SAAB dealer. - this was after 24hours of ownership. The vehicle is purchased.
