The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle, it was discovered that the front driver’s side seat belt would not lock or remain secured. Additionally, the power steering was inoperable causing the steering wheel to be very difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000.
Power steering high pressure line failed when the hose became disconnected from the end crimp. The power steering system lost all of its fluid resulting in the complete loss of power steering. The failure occurred when traveling in reverse at a slow speed and maneuvering out of a garage.
So today driving to work car ran fine got off my exit came to the red light and stopped. When I gave it gas to go the engine reved up and went but very slowly then it stopped reving and drive fine. Then on my way home did the same thing till I went to pull on to the street I live on and had to wait for traffic my car would not move but rev the engine. Husband is checking transmission fluild levels. But has never dun this in the year I have had this used car. Not sure what to do now. Have ready a lot of fourms and alot of people having the same issues. But no recall.
The vehicle has completely locked up without warning and is literally so hard to even turn the wheel or even control the vehicle I was driving on a busy street and I went to turn to get off the busy road and I'm a strong man and I could barely get the car to turn and I was trying so hard to turn the wheel but I couldnt.
The wipers have stopped working started by breaking plastic clip over and over to nothing. . Power stearing unit worked on a year ago making noise loosing fluid struts lock unlock trunk buttons in car or hand held not working proper were there and progressively worse since purchase.
I bought this car in 2016 and have spent more than $2000 making repairs unaware that that these repairs could have been covered by the recall. I have paid for repairs: . In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the body control module (bcm) connection may result in voltage fluctuations in the brake apply sensor (bas) circuit. These fluctuations can cause one or more of these conditions: the brake lights to illuminate without the brake pedal being pushed; the brake lights to not illuminate when the pedal is pushed; difficulty disengaging the cruise control; moving the gear shifter out of the 'park' position without pushing the brake; and disablement of crash avoidance features such as traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features. Any of the above failure conditions increases the risk of a crash. The transmission shift cable may fracture. If the transmission shift cable fractures while the vehicle is being driven, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, the driver will not be able to shift the lever to the "park" position, or remove the ignition key. If the vehicle is not in the "park" position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that the steering wheel was difficult to turn. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer was not contacted for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.
Was wondering if manufacture only has to pay once for the defect, or every time it breaks. So far it's been twice, they paid for one I paid for the other.
U=joint in the steering shaft, driving down the road you couldn't steer the car.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. While driving approximately 30 mph and attempting to make a right or left turn, there was a popping noise present near the bearing. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the steering shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14e044000 (steering). The approximate failure mileage was 133,000.
I have been driving my vehicle suddenly as I was turning my steering wheel to make a left turn it locks making it very difficult to turn it is completely stiff. . I tried to drive slower to avoid an accident and it locked even more I cannot go in reverse because it will not turn right or left. . . It makes it very unsafe to drive my children.
Since purchased issue with steering, had alignment before purchase but steering is just simply off. The cruise works when want and scare me when pick up speed goes too fast. We were in a group following one another and person behind me said my brake lights were not working. They were working backwards, when not applying brake, brake light was on, when applied brake lights on. There was mechanic in group he checked, said could be wiring and take to dealer. When put on signal have to hold and when it does work have to cut off. I would really enjoy this car, but do have some issues. Looked up recalls had nine, called dealership only 2 came up, but one had to do with brakes. New or used look up recalls before you make a purchase.
Car began to knock loudly on driver side front and pull to left when driving at speed , front struts broken & replaced a approx cost $700 5 days following that , car would not shift out of 1st gear or roll faster than 15 mph at 5 to 6000 rpm. Vehicle was towed twice and now waiting transmission rebuild due to well documented failure of gm wave plate in the 6 speed transmission, cost approx = $3500.
Clunk, knock or rattle noise from front of vehicle while driving or turning over bumps at low speeds.
While driving I got an engine light, then a service esc then a service traction. I contacted onstar for a diagnostic (after I returned home). I then had it towed to a garage where the mechanic informed me that after replacing a sensor the problem still existed and was due to a stretched timing chain. He then said he thought there might have been a recall concerning this issue. I have had issues prior to this and got no satisfaction from the dealer service center in santa rosa CA. I even filed a complaint with Saturn.
"service airbags" light came on 5/12/14. Owner's manual lists this as potential hazard as airbags may fail to deploy or deploy without warning. Took vehicle two blocks from my home to service station station on 5/13/14, but station said they do not work on airbags. Took vehicle home and parked it. Sent e-mail to Saturn's customer service center on 5/14/14, and eventually spoke to a supervisor on 5/17/14. He said that in order for gm to do anything, I would have to take the vehicle to a dealership in fairfax, va. I explained that I do not believe that I should spend any more money on the vehicle as I feel that it is defective. The supervisor said that he would arrange for towing and gm would pay for it. He also stated that I would be reimbursed for repairs or compensated for the loss of the use of the vehicle and that he would work with me "every step of the way. " on 5/20/14, I called for the supervisor and someone else returned my call. When I requested that gm provide me with a written document as to how they intended to resolve the issue, I was told that this would have to be discussed with the supervisor and then they would get back to me. They did not call me back all day Monday. I called and left a message on 5/21/14 and they have not responded to me in any way. The vehicle has been parked in my lot since 5/13/14 and I don't know what to do. I am afraid to drive the vehicle because of my own history with it and the recent spate of recalls for similar issues that have involved injury and death. (my vehicle is not currently under recall but does have similar issues to vehicles that are under recall). I don't know what to do. After promising to assist me, gm now will not return my calls.
I've had my 2007 Aura since March 2013, never had issues until a year later in April 2014. I noticed when I got out of my car that my back break lights were still on, when I got in to start it up, I put the car into drive out of park and it jumped-no lurched forward so hard it felt as if I had been hit from the back. I had to slam my foot on the break to keep from running into the car parked in front of me! than comes July 2014 I receive a notice that my Aura is part of a recall #13036 which relates to the (bcm)-body control module, the (bas)-break apply sensor and the (ecs)-electronic stability control. All in which affects the issues I'm having at this very moment. Now as of a week ago (Aug 2014) my check engine light is on and my auto start is no longer working! I've called Saturn about me not feeling safe in my vehicle and what is the status on the parts coming in and all I'm told is that there is no set time when that will be. On top of that I'm told I may have to pay out of pocket for a diagnostic test and or repairs to my car to find out what is going on! I am a very dissatisfied customer. I just want my car fixed ASAP!!!! these are serious and can be dangerous issues!! this is my only vehicle and I must take myself and my child back and forth each and everyday.
I have experienced numerous defects with my 2007 Saturn Aura xr. Since purchasing this vehicle, I have performed routine maintenance (I. E. Oil changes, tire replacement, brake service, etc). However, the vehicle requires continuous repair and is frequently problematic. On 6/6/2012, the transmission was replaced with only 71,945 miles on the vehicle the vehicle does not start from time to time. I thought the battery was the cause so I went to advance auto parts where I purchased the battery. The technician performed a diagnostics test on the battery, alternator, and starter. The report showed that all three components tested normal. On 11/29/2012, (while still experiencing issues with the vehicle starting) I went back to advance auto parts and asked them to replace the battery again to see if it resolved the problem. Soon after, the vehicle continued to have trouble starting. When having the brake pads and rotors replaced, I was informed that the power steering rack needed to be replaced with 84,718 miles on the odometer - estimated over $700 to repair. There is also a malfunction with the interior controls of the vehicle. The door locks as well as the controls on the steering wheel including the horn do not operate! consequently, the dashboard displays an airbag service message. (a major safety concern) recently on April 1, 2014, the vehicle made an alarming noise when I started it. I had the vehicle towed to a local gm service center to be diagnosed. I was informed that it would be $100 for the diagnostics check. After the initial inspection, I was told that there was a problem with engine and that it would be another $200 - $300 just to remove the engine and disassemble to further investigate. My vehicle is currently not drive-able. The engine and steering issues are also documented on service bulletins related to 2007 Saturn Auras.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. While making a turn at an unknown speed, the steering wheel became extremely difficult to maneuver and made a clicking noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, but the technician stated that the vehicle needed to be inspected or test driven. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control); however, the parts needed to repair the vehicle were not available. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer could determine when the parts would become available. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Hard steering sometime very diffuclt to make turns without force. Taken car to dealership traction control light on continuously, seat belt light on passenger side lights up and stays on. While car is moving. . Dealer has no salution for problem.
In late March 2013, I took my car to curry's auto service in dulles, va to determine the cause of squealing sound when I back my car out off parking spaces. I was advised to have rear rotors resurfaced, rear pads replaced and replace shocks and struts. On April 2, 2013, while in GA for business/personal purposes I took my 2007 Saturn Aura xr to tires plus in suwanee, GA to have the necessary repair work. Despite the completed repair work, for the next few weeks the sound kept coming back only occurring when I back out off parking spaces. On April 27, 2013 I took my car to the tires plus in chantilly, va. They determined the rear rotors were not resurfaced properly and rear left shock was loose. On may 4, 2013 tires plus, chantilly, va location resurfaced the rear rotors and tightened the shock. Within two hours off the repair the squealing noise is back again. The consistent noise occurs daily whenever I back out off parking spaces. I have already invested over $1,100 in repairs with no resolution. Scanning the internet, I found numerous other complaints from other 2007 satura Aura owners with the same exact squealing issue.
Had brakes change the first time under warranty for faulty brake pads. Same thing with the brakes in about a little over a year. Power steering whines and leaks somewhere. No power steering. And now wheel bearing hubs humming and bad. Went to dealer for brakes they replace both times but not without a fight. Told them I believe both wheel bearing are bad only replace one. And know other one is worse then before. And also told them power steering was not good they told me it was the braking not the steering. Also I had told the tires lost air the replaced one of the tire sensors because of manufacture defect . Now have problem with the other ones. And now all is not covered under warranty. Everything I told the dealership and they denied is what needs to be replaced.
Transmission has started to slip around the same time the recall was released concerning gear shifter cable. I am highly concerned that this is related and now my power train warranty has expired.
While making a left-hand turn, the steering seemed to catch as if it was locking up. This does not happen with each left-hand turn, but is happening more frequently. It now happens with both left- and right-hand turns.
Came home and attempted to park in driveway. Upon attempting to park, car would not shift all the way into park initially. I attempted to put the car into park. After several attempts car seemed to be in park. At this point I exited the vehicle. Upon returning to my drive way I found the car had drifted into my garage causing damage to my bumper and my right passenger side. Car will not start unless its in neutral. Gear shift will move to park but the car is not in park. Similar complaints on NHTSA. Spoke with gm and they're not taking any action until a recall is issued. So I have to pay for damages not caused by driving, but by gm's defect as well as pay gm to have car fixed since the car still will not stay in park causing a driving hazard.
Steering wheel locks up during turns. Vibration in the steering wheel felt during turn.
While turning the wheels, there is humming sound from the power steering.
I have a 2007 Saturn Aura xr, great car, but when you hit bumps, or cross lanes where there is uneven pavement the steering over reacts regardless of how hard you hold the wheel. This causes the car to move in the direction that the uneven pavement throws it toward, so you have to over compensate quickly before you hit another car next to you or a guard rail. It often feels like the power steering is not responsive enough by the second as it's needed. Now I have driven a chevy malibu 08, which is the same platform/car to test the steering, and the steering felt solid and held too in the same route. So I think you need to look into gm's power steering that they have put into the Saturn Aura, as it is way too over reactive, and creates violent understeer.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. While driving at any rate of speed, the contact heard clicking noises. In addition, the steering wheel drastically vibrated while making a left or right turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately six times and they stated that the stabilizer bar failed. The dealer further stated that the vibration in the steering was normal and could not be repaired. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer on may 29, 2008 and they stated that something was wrong with the steering. The steering will be repaired on June 9, 2008. The current mileage was 21,426 and failure mileage was 19,901.
I purchased a 2007 Saturn Aura xr new from Saturn of thornton rd. In March 2008. Beginning at purchase I have had to have the brakes replaced, 2 window motors redone, steering parts ordered and put on door handles replaced, and I am currently waiting for more steering parts and door handles to be ordered. I make monthly trips to this dealership to have something repaired. . . Please help me.
Driving vehicle and turning causes a clunk in the steering system. Had dealer look at it, and stated it is the intermediate steering shaft. Happens at most speeds when turning. After some research online, it appears to be a very common problem.
