Air Bag Problems of Saturn Aura - part 1

The air bag service warning message and warning light is illuminated I took the car back to the dealership had it serviced and a month later the message and light are on again. The passenger air bag sensor is malfunctioning sometimes it doesn't detect the passenger most times it detects a passenger when there isn't one. The tail and brake lights work intermittently. The steering system is dangerous. There's vibrating in the steering wheel and accelerator pedal at all speeds, the steering wheel pulls and jerks when braking and hitting bumps, the steering doesn't hold alignment and the power steering works intermittently.

The power train has failed the car won't start the fuses and relays are burning up and the transmission shifts so hard at a jolt almost. The service ecs ecm and service airbag indicator staying lit and the back passenger airbag looks like it's about to deploy it's a safety hazard I love my car I've only had it a year and I don't know what is happening or why.

My vehicle’s make and model have received recalls as stated online, however, my specific VIN does not state any recalls. I am having the same symptoms with the airbags, electrical, and transmission as the recalls stated with my make and model. I believe there should be recalls for my vehicle’s VIN. My check engine light has been on, and it is not shifting the way it should. My airbag warning light also turns on at times.

While I was driving the power steering got hard without any notice and the service airbag just start to show without no car accident make, need to know how to deal with it do I have to take to the dealership.

No air bad deployment at all. My 21 year old son was killed. Ignition keeped cutting off.

I take my vehicle at martin Chevrolet on 02/22/2019 for the incomplete recall to be fix after a day my vehicle start having check engine light on air bag traction control light on tail light not working wiper blade stop working the consequence that any of the mention issues will cause failure conditions increases the risk of fatal accident I want all these issues to be resolved.

I just saw that my car is on a list for recall.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the "service air bag " light illuminated. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 119,900. Fe.

Since new, we have had passenger air bag issues, not sensing an adult passenger. Brakes have been operating poorly, with rear pads wearing out, and front not. Four new master cylinders, pads & rotors with no improvement. Now mid 2018, strong gasoline smell from under rear of vehicle. I have seen where other Saturns, have a fuel leak relating to the fuel pump fuel lines. I suspect the same for our car. Doesn't matter how full the tank is, and of course it is parked. Should be a recall on this defect. We live in texas where it is hot. We now have about 130,000miles on the car.

I purchased this car on 11/05/2017 and have experienced more problems everyday with the electrical systems in the car. My power locks rarely work on all of my doors. I manually unlock my driver's door and if I try to unlock the other doors with my power lock controls, some or none of the other locks will unlock or lock. Takata recall: during work hours, when the car is parked out in the hot georgia summer sun all day I get a service air bag alert when I start it. I have been trying to park it under the trees when possible during the hottest days and this keeps the alert from happening for the most part. Sometimes though, this service air bag alert comes on for no apparent reason while I have been driving it for awhile as well. However, I am not on the airbag recall list. While at the mechanics, the alert would not come up and I was told to bring it back when it does.

When I drive the car with a front seat passenger the light on the dash keeps flashing from airbag on to airbag off, this happens with any weight passenger. I took the car to my local chevy dealer and they could not find a code or replicate the problem after charging me fifty dollars to check it. They said it may be a seat suppression module that would cost 925. 06 and is not covered by warranty.

The car constantly jerks and shakes. . . It wont go past past 40 mph without . . . The vehicle shaking . The vehicle cant get enough power. . Burns gas like crazy. The gm dealership wont do anything about it . . . .

"service airbags" message on dic used to come & go. It is now permanently on. Dtc b0081-71 is active. Passenger airbag lamp stays off whether someone is sitting in the passenger seat or not. Been told the pps pad in the seat foam needs replacing for over $1000. Seat hasn't been sat in more than 20 times since car was new.

It say somethings about recharge airbags.

2009 Saturn Aura was hit both in the front and rear and it was a very severe accident; the vehicle was a total loss. No air bags deployed, causing the two passengers to be more injured than they would have been (if at all) had they gone off. The driver had a concussion and the passenger was severely bruised and broke both hands.

My face and body smashed into the drivers door causing sever whiplash and some other things yet identified by an orthopedic surgeon. The drivers door and rear drivers door is smashed all the way to the seats, pushing on the seats and none of the airbags deployed. I am still seeing doctors to figure out what is wrong with my shoulder, neck and back. Needless to say medical care is still needed.

July 2014 - Saturn Aura 2007 problem: service light turned on when starting car called gm dealership to schedule a service appointment; car was not driven until appointment when starting the car, the light was out inspection: service department advisor noted: the passenger air bag module was defective (?trouble codes b0081 3a and b0081 71) considered a safety hazard passenger air bag may malfunction on impact repairs: ?replaced module and connector and heat pad (followed bulletin 10-0941-003a) ?in addition, customer had received an "open" recall for a transmission shift cable fracture; work required by recall completed. Complaint - module defect: there is a safety hazard associated with the passenger air bag. Owner's manual caution the air bag system may not perform in a crash?and should be serviced?without delay. According to other complaints on your website, this is not an uncommon occurrence or an isolated incident in some gm models. The high cost for correcting this gm malfunction has been imposed on the owners and is beyond the owner's responsibility for standard repairs and upkeep for safety issues associated with this malfunction, there should be a mandated recall.

The passenger airbag has been off for about 30 days now and I am afraid if I get into an accident it will be fatal. This is dangerous - can someone from gm address this issue.

The first incident was I were driving down the road and the reduce engine message came on. So later I drove and I got on a bridge and it shut completely down. So I waited for a while then it started back up. So the next day it started back, so I took it to a Chevrolet dealer and got a part put on. But the next day it was doing the same thing,so I took it back and they put a new part cause they thought the first one had a defect. So now its reading service esc and power steering and wont say anything. And the brake light comes on while I'm driving down the road and the bcm goes up.

My 2009 Saturn Aura keeps saying my seatbelt isn't buckled when it is. . . . I push it down but it keeps dinging and flashing. It doesn't do it all the time but a lot of the time. I would love to get this fixed since it isn't my fault it's happening.

I have had problems with this car since shortly after purchase, most of which have never been repaired even after several attempts by dealership, passenger airbag turns off even with passenger in seat, heated seats come on by themselves, I gave up on repair of those long ago, but they are minor compared other problems I any several other owners of this car as you can read at edmunds. Com consumer discussions, this cannot be coincidence, traction control, water pumps, clunking in the steering column and most recently check engine light issues, which in the process of more than one mechanic/dealership trying to figure out what is wrong with this car I have paid for what I would call unnecessary repairs, finally my local dealership tells me gm has told them the timing chain is stretched, I'm assuming gm knows this because they have other vehicles some 2007 models with a timing chain recall/issues, according to a local mechanic timing chains do not need regular maint. And should last much longer than my 68000 miles, I now need a 3500$$ repair although my local dealership "sympathizes" with me they feel "things just are not made they way they used to be. " just thought I'd join the many others who feel a complaint needed to be filed with gm regarding this vehicle!!!.

Even when my seat belts are buckled my seatbelt/airbags are dinging both passenger and drivers side. . . This is very annoying and needs to be addressed ASAP. I havent had any accidents but feel they should be fixed for safety purposes.

I purchased my vehicle in 2011 with 55,476 odometer within this time frame I had to replace fuel pump and the alarm system is not functioning at all. The air bag system comes on and off even in the process of me driving. I haven't been notify due to any of these matters until I found web site.

Instrument panel message "service airbags soon" appears randomly accompanied by a red panel icon. Message and icon eventually disappear. Owners manual does not give information about what this means or its effect on the airbag system.
