My steering is super tight. I can't turn my wheel very easily. I have to use 2 full hands to make turns and I believe my power steering is effected. It seems very unsafe to me and makes me nervous like it may lock up. I've done some research and I see there are recalls on other years of this car for the exact same problem, yet my car is not falling under the recall.
I was driving Friday morning on my way to work on i75 freeway. As I was driving my dashboard light came on "power steering" & "service esc" my steering wheel was so hard to turn as I had to go around the highway curves. I slowly merged over to the slow lane. When I got to work I tried to park my Saturn the wheel was so hard for me turn that I couldn't park it correctly. When I got off work my steering wheel was normal so I drove it home. The very next evening I was on the freeway again i696 and I was driving with the hight traffic and once again my power steering went out again. I did my research and found that Saturn Auras has recalls on them about the power steering. I contacted them for help and they said they do have recalls for this problem just my VIN not under the recall so they won't acknowledge my Saturn under this recall. If I'm having the same exact problem why is my vehicle not considered? this is dangerous and I need my car fixed.

Heard clunks while steering then it was hard to steer. . On highway speeds car gets pulled with the groove of an uneven surface. I almost crashed to a divider on the highway.
While driving the vehicle on the highway, the steering wheel began to oscillate (move) from side to side making it very difficult to keep the vehicle straight. A power steering message was displayed on the driver information center. The oscillation continued at any speed. When the vehicle was stopped there was a intermittent noise that came from the base of the steering column while the steering wheel continued to oscillate from side to side. The steering wheel was hard to maintain in one position and keep the vehicle straight as it continued to oscillate side to side. I called the dealer and they said I should bring it in and that it was unsafe to drive in that condition. I was very uncomfortable transporting my children in this vehicle. The dealer diagnosed the problem and fault code c0478 electric steering motor circuit high was found. The dealer replaced the power steering control module part number 22837369. Cost $715. 54. I did some research prior to taking to the dealer and found that this issue is a recall in canada for 67,414 vehicles. Not sure why the nhtsb doesn't follow transport canada on this. I will file a complaint with gm. This is the information I found. Transport canada recall # 2012331 for 2008 model year vehicles, dealers will replace the power steering motor control module.
The steering on the car is very tight, meaning it does not turn smoothly. I feel every and any sort of bump the car goes over. When turning it feels as if the car is scrubbing the payment, not a thorough movement. There is also something loose or sounds as if something in the interior or under the hood is rattling or is may come apart. The dealership I purchased it from is saying that the sway bar and end links need to be replaced or tightened. Also, my air bag light popped on saying it needed to be serviced. . . . I have no idea about this alert on my display!!they explained to me it happens over time, however from reading other Saturn car owner's reviews this is a recurring complaint amongst many others. It is or was the top luxury sedan when it came out and it would appear the suspension would be a lot smoother on a sedan. Unhappy with results and I feel the history of car was not revealed at time of purchase. The repair bill estimate is around 500. 00 and that is a lot of expense. . . . There is another review referencing to the struts or type of strut to use should be the one made by chevy. Frustrated and confused in memphis,TN!!.
