Bought the car new in 2018, in 2019 a small piece of gravel hit the windshield and a huge crack appeared a few weeks later. Had it replaced. Now 10//27/2020 there is a crack that just appeared in the windshield again. No rocks have hit the windshield. . I drove the car and did not see a crack. Parked in my driveway for an hour and went outside to clean the inside of the windshield and there was a crack. They appear when the car is just sitting in the driveway. . The first cracked windshield and claim were from 9/19 claim 06-b531-7m4 with state farm.

My front windshield developed a spontaneous crack. It was cold outside and the car was parked in the driveway. When I started the car in the evening, I noticed a horizontal crack about 24" long, near the bottom of the windshield. The defroster was not on. This is my second Forester and both windshields have developed the same spontaneous crack in the same place.

My car was a couple months old. I was driving on the expressway and a rock glanced off my windshield. It cracked it. Based on the size of the rock, it was small, the windshield seems very susceptible to breaking. My previous car that I had for more than 10 years encountered much larger stones and I never had a windshield crack on me. The repair was over $1,500. It seems like quite the money grab by Subaru.

Windshield issue - on 10/24/20 discovered approx. 2 ft. Crack in the windshield of our 2020 Subaru forrester. No idea when crack actually happened. No obvious debris from the road stuck the windshield while the car was being driven. Car stays parked in our garage unless it's being driven. Car was purchased new on 9/26/20 and had approx. 1000 miles on odometer when the windshield cracked. We assumed it was a warranty issue and took to dealer later that week. They immediately told us a rock must have hit it and we had to get it fixed - not covered under warranty. Unfortunately the crack is getting larger, so we have appt. To get windshield replaced and pay $500 insurance deductible. Can scan and send insurance/invoice paperwork once repair is complete if needed.
A stone hit the windshield - passenger side ( colored glass) thickest part . I watched it crack in half all the way to the center of the car- immediately. I was 1. 5 miles from the Subaru dealer . So I went straight there , I have had plenty of stone hits , never like this - they have always just made a pit , that could be fixed . I had purchased the car just 3 weeks before. This happened.
My Subaru Forester 2020 all of a sudden had a big crack on the windshield starting from the top edge to the middle. Vehicle was parked on the street for 5 days. No prior dent on it or crack. I called Subaru and one of the staff had mentioned they have a thin window material due to the driver assist system. I've had my scion tc 2007 which got hit with many things and never received this type of crack on the window. I never had to replace the window and I always park outside in a hot los angeles weather. I now live in the bay area and it is colder here. Hoping to have this replaced by Subaru as part of a defect.
My windshield spontaneously cracked within the first 30 days of purchasing my brand new 2020 Subaru Forester with nothing impacting it. I was driving with no other cars on the road, making a left hand turn on a well paved road on a route I have driven for years with no problems. Now there is a large break in glass running across the middle of my windshield. I even took it to Subaru and a service technician said he could not find a place of impact. When I make a turn now I can hear the glass being stressed from the turn.

On September 26, 2020, my 2020 Subaru Forester windshield was hit by some very small object that hardly made a sound when it struck. The result was a very small crack about an inch long. I had this repaired by safelite mobile service on sept. 30 on April 6, 2021 as the car was being driven in town, an approximately 15 inch crack appeared on the windshield. This crack runs from the very bottom of the windshield up through the repaired "chip" mentioned above and on for another 12 inches or so. There was nothing to strike the windshield this day. I contacted the ramsey Subaru dealership where I purchased the car and was told because there was that initial chip, the Subaru warranty would not cover the cracked windshield. I contacted the safelite office nearest me that had repaired the chip in September and they scheduled me to have the windshield replaced on Monday, April 12 at 12:30 pm. I did phone the dealership on Friday, April 9 to speak to someone about this situation. After several attempts with no one answering the phone, I left a message to contact me. I have not yet received a response of any kind. I plan to visit the dealership Monday morning April 12 to appeal my oral decision. If I am successful in that, I will amend this report.
One day I looked up at my windshield and there is a scratch/crack visible on the inside. Nothing hit it.
I had a cracked windshield after only having the car for less than a month. The dealership would cover this at the time. The windshield just cracked again for no apparent reason and I believe the car was stationary as it start out as a small crack and has grown to across the windshield. .
The windshield has 3 chips and a 12 inch long crack running down the middle. The vehicle was in motion on a highway for 3 cracks the last chips is from an unknown source.

I have had my Subaru Forester 2020 for only 8 months and there is already a crack on my windshield from a small rock hitting my windshield. The rock was tiny and it created a 18in crack on my windshield.
2019 Subaru Forester windshield suddenly cracked by itself during driving in a hot day. Nothing hit the window the time it happened. Reviewed dash cam and confirmed nothing hit the window. Circular crack which can be barely felt from the outside, but deep almost into the 2nd layer of glass.
The windshield cracked as I was driving down a street. Nothing hit it. There were no other cars near me. The crack started at the outer edge of the windshield.
Original owner of 2017 Subaru Forester with eyesight. Driving on open road in clear weather. Noticed a small line above registration sticker that looked like a blade of grass. Stopped at our destination and noticed a crack that tripled in length in the 30 minutes it sat parked across the left lower section of the windshield. It proceeded to spread over the next day. Have never had a chip or impact to this windshield previously, but if there was any object that hit the car it was incredibly small as the crack is entirely in the driver's eyeline and I did not see or hear anything.
We leased this car Feb 28, 2020. Two months later when traveling at 60 mph we noticed a star-shaped crack on the windshield with nothing apparently hitting it. The windshield then cracked. Less than 3,000 miles on the car. We had the windshiled replaced at our expense. Last week when traveling 70 mph a star-shaped crack appeared after nothing hitting it. The crack then expanded two different times.
I purchased my vehicle in February 2019 and do not drive very far to work. I do very little driving on the highway. In June 2019, with less than 4000 miles, we were returning home from a trip when we heard the windshield crack. We took it to the dealership and they claim the damage was caused by a rock so we turned the claim into our insurance. Then yesterday, we were driving on the highway and heard a tiny rock hit the windshield. Today that tiny pit has cracked over half the windshield. I have read that Subaru has had many complaints with their windshields for both Forester and outbacks and especially for the years 2017-2019. I have owned several vehicles previously and have never had problems like this with needing to replace the windshield with very little to no damage causing the crack. In order for the eyesight to work properly you have to take the vehicle to an approved glass company and then have Subaru calibrate the windshield. The cost to replace is over $1200. Subaru has had several complaints and knows this is an issue with their windshield and the problem continues. I have read reviews that owners of 2020 models are having similar issues.
I purchased a 2020 Subaru Forester on 7/11/20. The vehicle had 3955 miles on it as it had been used as a loaner by the dealership. After the paperwork had been complete, the salesperson went to the vehicle with me to explain some of the features. At this point, while the vehicle was stationary, I noticed a chip in the windshield on the lower left side. I reported it to the salesperson who scheduled an appointment for me to bring the vehicle back for a repair. After the repair was completed, the chip was still obvious. The certified pre-owned vehicle inspection checklist indicates no chips/cracks in the windshield (false information). I am concerned that the chip will become larger, especially in light of the current lawsuit regarding Subaru vehicles which includes my Forester.
I purchased a 2020 Forester on 7/11/20 as a certified pre-owned vehicle. The vehicle had 3955 miles on it and had been used as a loaner by the dealership. After completing the paperwork and finalizing the sale, the salesperson accompanied me to the vehicle to explain some of the features. While the vehicle was stationary, I discovered a chip in the windshield, even though the certified pre-owned vehicle inspection checklist indicated the windshield had been checked and there were no chips or cracks. The salesperson arranged an appointment for me to bring the vehicle back for a repair to the windshield. After the repair was completed, the chip was still obvious. Given the current lawsuit concerning Subaru windshield issues, I am concerned that the chip may worsen.
While driving on a highway after only 10 days after the purchase, the smallest rock you can see with your eyes hit on the left down driver corner and the windshield cracked at the same place with very unrecognizable crack. After just 5 minutes the crack went all the way to half of the windshield.
On June 16th, 2020 my vehicle was straight in motion on a city street. Randomly, a crack appeared on the driver side part of the windshield. I have no idea what caused this, but the dealership did not give me coverage for this incident.
Windshield cracking.
Windshield is fragil. The window shield had rock chip in the first month I got the car. After 1 year, I got another rock chip that cracked it so bad, a hug line runs across the windshield. I had multiple cars before, this car is probably the most fragile glass I ever experience.
In the morning, got into the car and found the front windshield had a crack coming from the bottom passenger side toward the driver side. The vehicle was stationary.
I heard a loud pop when driving on a major road. Just driving. I looked up at the rear view and saw the windshield had a very large / long crack in it. I called Subaru dealership they told me to call my insurance company. No mention of problems with windshields.
Windshield cracked overnight in driveway. Was stationary.
Windshield cracked for no apparent reason. No rocks or pebbles struck the vehicle. Cracked on windshield appear when it was parked.
Second cracked windshield after only 12,000 miles. Pebble strike on freeway developed into huge crack in only a matter of minutes. I was driving speed limit and kept distance from car in front of me. Pickup truck passing on left must have kicked up pebble.
My front windshield developed a spontaneous crack. In April 2020, the car was parked outside overnight, and in the morning, there was a 20-inch long horizontal crack on the bottom portion of the windshield. There was no impact mark to indicate a rock hit the windshield.

Cracked/dents in windshield.
Windshield cracked about 1130 pm on 29 March 2020 when it was sitting in the driveway. Nothing was around, nothing hit it. No one or animal was in the vehicle nor anywhere near the vehicle.
In less then 18 months ive had to replace my front windshield 3 times due to cracks that go all the way across the windshield that I've gotten while driving on city freeways.
