June 26 2017 I went to have my front brake pads replaced, because they felt spongy and difficult to stop the vehicle. The mechanic told me I needed to replace the brake pads, rotors, and outer tie rods on both ends. All these parts were dangerously worn preexisting conditions before I purchased the vehicle in December 2016. The brake repair was done 424 west henderson street, cleburne, texas 76033. 817 645 7848. On June 26, 2017 I purchased the vehicle from brad deery Honda in iowa used, as is. Since then I have had to have numerous expensive repairs. There should be laws to protect consumers from dealerships that sell vehicles that are unsafe and falling apart, and refusing to help pay repair bills. Used vehicles do not qualify for help under the lemon laws. Please let me know if there is something I can do to get help with my repair bills on my vehicle for unsafe preexisting mechanical conditions. Vehicle vibrates and pulsates every time you apply the brakes while driving at speeds above 50 mph- vibrations are felt throughout the vehicle and the steering wheel. On March 11th; Subaru dealership technicians took a look at the problem and drove the vehicle and confirmed the steering wheel vibrations while braking on speeds above 50 mph, they also found all brakes at 7mm and front rotors with added material to it measuring above 0. 0008" - technicians recommended a simple resurface of rotors (charged at owners expense) or to wait until the condition worsen ??? (affecting other suspension, steering or brakes components) in order to repair the vehicle using the warranty. Currently my car has 22,345 and it already continues to pulsate every time I apply the brakes at speeds well above 50 mph. Nothing was say about the brake pads conditions or quality. I did noted on many Subaru forums online that many Subaru owners have experience this issue but it seems that no one has reported such issues to the NHTSA.

I have an 06 Subaru Legacy gt. At my 30,000mile checkup the report states good except the rear brake pads & rotors which is rated; may require follow up attention. The rear rotors were machined. At 37,778 miles the radio was replaced due to it shorting out. At this mileage my coolant cap is no longer holding pressure & has to be replaced. At 44,542miles, the invoice says replace rear brakes as only the brake pads were replaced & the rear rotors were machined 6,000miles ago. At 47,560 miles fourth gear is grinding. The invoice states; found low/dirty manual transmission fluid. The transmission fluid was changed at 30,000miles & the fluid levels are to be checked at every visit which was last at 47,478 miles. Transmission fluid was replaced. At 47,560 miles; found rear brake rotors warped excessively. This was not mentioned at 44,542miles when the rear brake pads were replaced. The rear brake rotors were resurfaced at this time again; as the front rotors were to thin & were replaced. From 3-5-08 when the last major inspection was done the front rotors were marked;may require follow up attention. On 4-17-08 the rotors are too thin and need to be replaced. At 50,129 miles the wheel bearings were replaced. The leaking inner axle seals was unnoticed by the technician until I mentioned it. The invoice states;the technician found the front inner axle seals leaking. Found knocking noise coming from both front axles caused by lack of grease due to leaking boots. The axle boots were replaced. At 53,455 miles found front rotors warped, resurfaced front rotors as they were just replaced at 47,560 miles. The clutch feels that it is not working properly, fourth gear is grinding again & is difficult to get into gear. When shifting at times, clutch will be completely disengaged and vehicle revs to 5000+rpms for no reason. I picked my vehicle up to take to my transmission specialist for a 2nd opinion; the hood wasn't closed, it was only latched.

At 14,000 miles experienced sudden, significant loss of braking power and major vibrations in 2005 Subaru Legacy and was barely able to slow car. Dealer resurfaced brake rotors. Experienced identical problem while descending steep mountain grade at 26,000 miles. Dealer found front rotors warped and brake pads worn and replaced both. I am fearful that this problem will reoccur without warning, potentially causing an accident. I suspect that abs is malfunctioning, causing abnormal wear on rotors and pads. Dealer claims problem is "normal. ".

Excessive brake repairs. I have had to replace my brakes every 30,000 miles. I have never had a car or truck that has needed to have all the components of the braking system replaced with such frequency. While at the dealer another owner was complaining to service about the same issue.

Vehicle lurches forward after brakes are applied. Vehicle jumps forward a few feet before stopping completely. Happens when vehicle is stopped. Last incident resulted to impact with another car in parking lot. Dealer could not find fault on two occasions. Says it may be due to air conditioner coming on.

I have a 1999 Subaru Legacy wagon with 4 wheel disc brakes and 15 inch wheels. Every time the front disk pads are replaced, the mechanic gets the pads for 15 inch wheels the are installed and the car will not stop. What we have discovered is that the front take the disk pads for 14 inch wheels and the rear take the disk pads for 15 inch wheels.

Front brake pads failed.
Problems with braking system on 2000 Subaru outback. There was a continuous problem with the brakes where if the vehicle was parked for a week or more, they would lock up and only rocking back and forth would release them, when that occurred and the brakes were released, the brakes would grind for a long time. The front brake pads were replaced and the front rotors were resurfaced.

Dealer advised me I would have to get used to the brakes, there is a problem, the wheel gets so hot it will burn you and I can't hardly stop on snow,I have had the brakes replaced several times because the heat "frys" the brake pads. This is a public danger and this vehicle and others should be tested and recalled.
