While driving the vehicle and trying to brake it lost the ability to apply the brakes almost causing an accident. After further inspection found this was a recall for this vehicle. I called the manufacturer and they said it was performed and they could not do anything further. The exact area pertaining to the brake lines failing as described in the recall is where it has failed. Their is no evidence of the recall being performed as the repair indicated spraying the vehicle with anti corrosion spray. It does not appear that was ever done. This is for the brake lines in the passenger rear of the vehicle next to the gas tank. Recall number they say was completed is wqk-47. Research shows many other people have this issue still and Subaru has not repaired the vehicle as it should have been. Thank you.
Brake line at rear wheel connector rusted through and literally broke a hole through the very rusted metal while driving at about 30 mph, but luckily this was on empty road and it eventually stopped, but the brake pedal lost effectiveness and the usability is now dangerous, so it is parked at home, while my registration, tax and inspection lives are only half used.

Previous recall issue with brakes was never fixed correctly, resulting in a large leak in the rear right side brake line that caused my brakes to almost completely go out. Previous issue, which was supposedly fixed in 2014, was only a stopgap measure that didn't prevent the brake line from completely corroding away.

Tl the contact owns a 2009 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed and went to floorboard. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to ed reilly Subaru (150 manchester st, concord, nh 03301) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake line was corroded. The contact was informed that the brake lines received anti-corrosion treatment as per the recall. The contact stated that the dealer did not cover the fender as the recall indicated, to prevent the line from corroding. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign numbers: 13v110000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and 14v311000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 174,000.

This is in reference to Subaru recall wqk- while driving vehicle, brake indicator on dashboard illuminated and within a few minutes of driving, I could feel something was a bit different with the brake pressure. Within a few moments of that while attempting to stop, I noticed the pedal went all the way down to the floor and on subsequent pumps of the brakes I got some pressure. Attempting to drive the vehicle further (slowly), resulted in very little, if any, braking power. I checked brake fluid reservoir and noticed it was below the min mark. I had some brake fluid in the trunk and filled it. I attempted to drive the vehicle a bit further and was able to recover brake functionality for a few more minutes before the same issue occurred. Thankfully this was done while on a road that had a low speed limit and there weren't many vehicles around. Losing brake power while on a highway for instance on a turn would not have been as good. I took the vehicle to a dealership where they found that the right rear line was leaking. I went in to look at the vehicle and inspected the four-way connector mentioned in the recall as well as the line that runs near the fuel tank where the clip holds on to it. This part of the line is exposed just as the recall mentions. I noticed that the 4-way connector was covered sufficiently in the wax component that the recall mentioned should be used but the area where the leak was does not appear to have any wax at all the work for the recall was performed in October 2018, so a little over a year later and the brake line corroded through where the recall wording indicated it could. If the lines had been sealed as indicated, perhaps this issue would not have occurred. The dealership quoted $1300 to replace a single brake line. Another concern is that if that one line was corroded enough to leak, then the others could too.
Hydraulic brake failure while driving. Upon brake application, pedal went to floor, had to use parking brake to stop vehicle. Inadequate, ineffective preventive recall done to brake lines as a rust proofing measure was done twice and lines still rusted through and perforated in rear near fuel tank. No evidence of wax sealant application present on areas of brake lines specified in recall. Dealership is refusing to perform recall repair procedure for brake line replacement . Manufacture customer relations representative contacted.
Wqk-47 brake line corrosion recall work was done to "rustproof" the line only 3 years ago. The line is currently rusted through in the back above the fuel tank after stopping at a light on 7/21/18. Search online shows the same issues reported by other drivers. Lines need to be replaced and recall of rustproofing does not hold.
My mechanic told me there was a recall on older Legacy's like 2010-2012 about the brake lines. He went on to check my brake lines (with my car on a lift) and saw they were completely rusted out and swollen. Also, for some reason when I'm driving, my car pulls to one side or the other, specifically on the highway. I cannot drive straight or let go of the steering wheel or else it'll pull me off the road. My mechanic has already looked everything over and said everything was good. So I'm not sure where the problem is but it's with the steering.

Excessive rear brake line rust even after NHTSA recall #14v311 (Subaru recall id wqk-47) . The cleaning and and wax spray didn't stop the brake lines from deteriorating more and will soon fail.
Even after taking my vehicle in for the brake line recall, months later after a Subaru dealership tested them, my breaks still gave away. It was said that it was severely corroded and it was blown. This happens 3-4 months after I had taken it in to get the recall checked. I ended up having to pay half the cost to fix it. I shouldn't had to. They should've been able to identified it before it had happened. It does not take 3-4 months to be come so severely corroded that my breaks gave away while driving to walmart. Luckily I was right by the dealership so once the warning light came on, I quickly drove it off the city street and into Subaru dealership. As I was parking it, I no longer had breaks. I had immediately pulled my e-brakes in order to stop my vehicle in a parking spot.

There was a recall issued for my car for brake lines that would rust if they were not protected. I went to a dealer to have the recall performed and 6 months later the brake like had already busted. The lines were never inspected!! the recall info is 13v-110 the car was moving and I was coming to a stop when the brakes gave out on me!.
Tl the contact owns a 2005 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that the brake lines were structurally unsound and contained extensive rust and corrosion. Day apollo Subaru (5450 university blvd, moon, PA 15108, (412) 264-9222) installed a coating and performed the remedy for NHTSA campaign number: 13v110000 (service brakes, hydraulic), but the failure recurred soon afterwards. The vehicle was unable to be driven due to the risk of the brake lines fracturing. The contact felt that the manufacturer needed to develop a more robust metal and remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 88,948.
Hello, I had bought a 2006 Subaru Legacy 2. 5 gt limited and I live in the hills of western MA, so my car saw 2 winters. Coming back from boston, MA 14 miles from home (out of 135 miles) as I was entering charlmã´nt I slowed down to 30 mph. As I approached a corner with a car coming in my lane. I thought if I went into his lane best case scenario I could make it. But we clipped back bumpers and when I put my brakes on the car started going faster at that time I just said there was puddle with ice underneath. But now with the recall about the brake lines in certain states being recalled, that makes since because when I slammed onto my brakes the car started to go faster not slowing down. I contacted about the accident [xxx] vp of Subaru of America or soa. All he kept on doing was denying about this and offering $500. 00 if I bought a new Subaru and now with the recall of the brakes it makes sense and even the recall he won't replace my vehicle in closing I would like to say that my Subaru was a lemon and at the time of accident they were looking for a car like mine to swap it out with. [xxx] I bet that never will I fill information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Brake line repair/valve replacement 2002 Subaru Legacy. When the temperature was below 20 degrees the brakes faded resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer determined that a valve and line in the brake system were defective.
