On 11/25/2020, at approximately 12:00pm, while in line for the drive through car wash of a mobil gas station (los serranos country club dr), my vehicle, a white 2016 Tesla Model S, partially turned off. I could no longer steer the car nor could I restart the vehicle. The screens were completely black. I exited the vehicle and had to wait several minutes before I was able to get my vehicle restarted. This is not the first time something like this happened (though I cannot remember the exact dates of the previous incidents), where the vehicle would not start after stopping and I would not be able to steer the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2016 Tesla Model S. The contact stated while vehicle was at a stand still, the vehicle failed to start-up due to the media control unit being inoperable. The failure caused the vehicle charging to be slow. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle resumed normal operations after 5 minutes. The vehicle was taken to Tesla located at 5544 okeechobee blvd, west palm beach, FL 33417, where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the media control unit needed to be replaced. The failure recurred. An email was sent to the manufacturer however, there was no response. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
The emmc is failing and causing the computer systems to act odd. I've reported it for the failing main screen and it turning off for over 36 hours but yesterday the speedometer screen went blank and wouldn't come on for a an extended period of time. The car wouldn't start at first, and when it did, there was no speedometer (!), no odometer, no battery level read out, no gear indicator, no headlights, nor any other function of the instrument panel. The vehicle was stationary when it failed. It flashed on for a second, which allowed lights to come on and go in drive, but it immediately turned back off leaving the car without any speedometer or other items listed above. This was in a neighborhood.

The main screen, mcu, on my Tesla Model S, 2015 70d began rebooting during driving. On Saturday, July 4th, 2020, the car would not start at all. Tesla customer service coached me on getting the car to work without the main screen, however it is not safe. The brake lights, signal lights, rear camera do not work, verified by my spouse. Further, most of the other controls, e. G. De-fog, air conditioning, roof, etc, do not work. The re-booting of the screen, where it would blank out without warning, and eventually come back later, occurred while the car was in motion -- very distracting. At this point, the main display, or mcu, is "bricked" -- it won't display anything at all, so that has happened when the car is stationary.
