The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Avalon. While driving approximately 15 mph and attempting to slow down, the floormat became stuck under the brake pedal and prevented it from being depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired for the same failure in 2014 and the remedy was to add two clips to the floormat. One of the clips was fractured during the recent failure. The dealer stated that there was no recall for the failure and the carpet should be replaced. The manufacturer refused to replace the carpet. The vehicle was not repaired. Consumer writing in regards to 2008 Toyota Avalon. Stating that there is a crack in the passenger side air bag cover. The consumer also stated there was a two inch crack in the upper corner in the same area, and a crack under in the vinyl under the passenger heat and air vent.

I went through a car wash the other day and when the car was being dried by the blower, some water came in through the sunroof. I took the car to the Toyota dealer where I bought it and they did a high pressure water test. They said nothing was the matter. It was explained to me that they could hap[pen when you drive through the car wash. I immediately filed a complaint with Toyota and they advised that I have another dealer look at it. I have an appointment Monday 11/11. We will see what happens.

Defective dash. This car has 48,305 miles and has almost always been garaged. It was purchased new in March of 2006. Recently, about July of 2013, when I first started noticing it, the complete dash of this car has become covered in a very sticky, shiny substance. No sealers, polishes or waxes have ever been applied to it, only cleaned with a damp rag. Not only is this Toyota defect affecting the value of this car it has become a safety issue. The glare the shine on the dash creates make it almost impossible to see out of the windshield. I have seen many other Toyota Avalon and camry owners complain of this defect. I believe Toyota should be held responsible for the replacement of these defective dashboards.

Sunlight is reflected into the eyes of the driver and front seat passenger from the interior trim. This bright reflection not only makes it difficult to see at times, the sunlight can cause damage to the retina and cornea. The light comes from many different parts of the car so it is impossible to constantly shield with our hands while driving. We keep the sunroof closed. It does not matter if the sun is directly overhead or at an angle because there are so many areas that reflect the light. We noticed this problem within the first week of purchase. We contacted the dealer and manufacturer. While they initially seemed willing to help, it is obvious from their silence, that they hope the problem will go away. There are numerous conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts, and pterygium, caused by exposure to bright sunlight in the eyes and are concerned about the damage that could result from this constant exposure. It would be great if the manufacturer would correct the design flaw in our car.

It just rained the pass 4-5 days. My wife went to look for something she thought dropped underneath my seats. She said my carpet/floorboards were wet. I went to the vehicle and pressed down on the carpet. Water instantly raised up and formed a puddle around my intire hand. This is happening driver and passenger side front and back seats. 2008 Avalon has unexplained noises in the trunk, back seat area. Sounds like a loose part which make a "bumping " sound when the car moves over a dip or uneven surface. The auto rear sunshade also rattles continuously.

I have a 2005 Toyota Avalon. This week the front and back floors are drenched in water under the carpets. The technician to clean the car noted that there was black mold under the carpets. The belief is that the ac is not draining properly. What and how can this be resolved ASAP.

Car had water leak that was improperly corrected in Aug 2007. In Apr 2008 really bad leak same place. Soaked carpet and has left very strong mildew-moldy odor in all interior parts, mats and trunk area. Dealer replaced carpet and detailed mats. Car still smells strongly of mold & mildew. Dealer says car is fine.

Toyota Avalon 2006 has a protruding piece cylinder in the mid-section of the trunk that has a cutout with an extremely sharp edge. It cut my finger when putting groceries in my trunk and my daughter's friend when removing luggage. This could be very serious for diabetics and caused significant cuts for both of us.

2005 Avalon instrument panel can not be seen at times in the daylight. The indicator lights for the gear shifter and hvac controls were at times impossible to see. The angle of he dash, the colors used for lighting and the angle of the sunlight rendered the indicators unreadable. The dealer indicated that the vehicle conforms to fmvss standards.

2005 Avalon makes a whistling noise that comes from the window, and there is a knocking sound when turning. Gears felt as though they were slipping. ***** the injectors made a loud tapping noise. The front end made a knocking noise when making a slow left turn. The dealer installed window seals to alleviate the wind noise. The consumer heard a rattling noise on the dash as if the dash board was coming apart.

2005 Toyota Avalon with all leather interior. There are reports that leather from china can cause rashes to the skin due to an ingredient they put in the leather to protect it from mold. My wife and I have developed itchy rashes. Is it possible that the leather in our automobile could be infected? how can this be determined?.

Toyota Avalon xls 2004 problem seeing the trunk when backing up for visual idea of how close to what behind me. Six days after purchasing the vehicle, the key would not turn in the ignition and all the dash lights stayed lit. There was a grinding noise coming from the steering.

I have a problem with a distracting light that interferes with my night operation of the car. At night, away from lights, I see the 140 from the speedometer and the e from the fuel gage, reflected in the windshield. The image is upside down and the light is a safety concern as it is dead ahead in the field of travel. I have adjusted my seat so I am as low as possible, the top of my head is about 1" from the ceiling. I've contacted the Toyota dealer. They stated they could not see the reflection, but if it is there, they report "this is a design flaw and nothing can be done".

While driving at any speed, the consumer heard a brushing sound coming from the steering column. The dealer has examined the vehicle on two occasions and was unable to find the cause of the problem. When the a/c was running the vehicle would die as was unable to be duplicated, the trunk gasket leaked, noises were heard when turning to the left (steering felt tight), the trunk bottom would not open, the wipers would hit the hood, there was a scraping when turning to the left, the driver door was leaking water, and the vehicle could not turn right.

2001 Toyota Avalon experiencing problems with the brakes, and windows. There was a persistent problem with noise that seemed to originate from the front end. The noise was intermittent and noticeable after the vehicle was warmed, when making turns or when applying the brakes. An inspection revealed that the caliper slide was sticking onto the left front side. The brake rotors showed signs of glaze, there was a wobbly feeling when the brakes were applied, the passenger side heated seat was intermittent, the vehicle was pulling to the left, the drivers windows would go up and down, the stripping on the bumper was coming off, the steering would shake at times, the fuel gauge fluctuated, the radio buttons were fading, the cassette was inoperative, there was burning smell coming from the vent, the vehicle stalled with no warning, the wiper blade(s) were noisy, the windshield had "million" of dots all over it, and the front panel was lit for the back lights and there was a limited amount of air/heat that would blow on the drivers feet. The rotors were machined and the front and rear brake pads were replaced. The front struts were cracked and caused the front end noise. The radio,steering angle sensor and the front struts were replaced.

2005 Avalon transmission problems. The consumer stated the vehicle exhibited excessive wind noise. The consumer was told the vehicle was operating as designed. The transmission had a hesitation up to three seconds. Updated the consumer stated wanted to know the status of the complaint.

While driving 100 miles or more instrument panel glass gets hot. Consumer is concerned that this condition can cause a fire. The dealer indicated to the consumer that they have received several complaints on this problem, but recommended to keep driving the vehicle. The dealer did not offer to repair the problem.

There was fluttering while driving at highway speeds due to weak springs in the sun roof assembly. The air dam (wind deflector part of the moon roof) fluttered at highway speeds and caused a shock wave/extremely loud noise in the vehicle. Toyota refused to correct the problem.
