2 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2019

2007 Toyota Camry hybrid brake actuator failure. Toyota enhanced warranty extended the manufacturing defect for both time and mileage. The time frame has expired but the mileage allotment was not even close to end (only 103,000 miles on car). This defect should have been a recall since this is a common issue to numerous Toyota Camry's. They issued the enhanced warranty to reduce the financial burden of a recall and limit the number of complaints by only assisting owners who experienced this brake failure during their time frame. I am a senior who only drives the car to the grocery store. When returning from shopping, all the brake and anti skid lights lit up and we took the car straight home. We then took car to dealership the next day. I am being penalized because I am a senior who does not use their car excessively. The enhanced warranty time frame has expired, but the mileage allotment was not even close. This is a manufacturing defect and the car should have been recalled years ago.

3 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2018

My 2007 Toyota Camry se v6 brakes failed to deploy. On my way home from work, I pressed the brake pedal to stop at a red light, no brakes! I pumped the brakes and all I heard was hissing air sound. I believe it is the brake booster from the numerous complaints describing the same issue. I had no warning lights of any kind. This could have been a life ending event. Toyota needs to correct this issue. Where is the recall?.

My 2007 Toyota Camry lr abs system is not working, I read numerous complaints (over 197 complaints with this problem on 2007 Camry le's) to your site with same problem: warning lights , speedometer needle at "0", etc. Cost to replace abs system over $2,500. Someone said the abs was only to prevent skids and even though speedometer is not showing speed, that no other problem such as sudden stop, or brake failure, etc would happen, complaints on your site show that other problems, can result, what can we do? my car mileage is 79,899. This is a continuing problem started approx. August 2017 - -.

Brakes failed while trying to stop at a stop sign. The brakes failed while trying to stop on dry pavement. The brake pedal became very hard and the car continued threw the stop sign and stopped. The check engine light had been on for a day. I took the car to the dealer and was told it was bad gas. I drove the car for another day with hard brakes and then retuned to the dealer because of some near misses because the brakes were not working. The dealer found that the brake booster was bad. A quick check shows that this very common on 2007 Camry. These faulty boosters are safety hazard and should be recalled and replaced by Toyota before some one dies!.

My wife was driving her 2007 Toyota Camry when the "check vsc" error code came on at which time the brakes became very mushy. We took it to a mechanic the code showed that the brake actuator is failing. So now we will have to pay over $2,000 to get this common problem fixed.

10 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2014

We where driving to the store and on the way the check engine came on, so we pulled into the local autozone and they ran a scan for fault codes. It had a code p0171 which they said it coulf 1 of several posibilities and should have a repair shop perform a proper check to be sure what is actually going on. Well we continued on to the store, when coming to a stop my wife said we have no brakes, the pedal was going to the floor, we did come to a stop with hitting anything thank god. Well I drove from there back home very carefully. Once home I look under the hood for anything that be causing it to happen, and everything look inplace and ok. So next I got back into the car and push the brake pedal down and heard a loud air leaking from the brake pedal, I got down by the pedal and push on the the pedal with my hand and could hear air coming out the boot. I called a mechanic and explained to him what was happening and he said it is my power brake booster. Next I got on line and found that alot of 2007 Camry's with anywhere from 40,000 miles up to and over 200,000 that have the power brake booster failing, and when I tried to fine one for my car I found that there are none anywhere, even at the dealership. I did ask if they know of this problem and he paused for a moment, then said no. I believe this should be investigated be fore someone injured or killed.

12 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2013

I'm returning home from work and driving on a freeway with 60mph limit. I remember driving at 45mph and maintained a very good distance from the vehicle in front of me. The vehicle in front of me tried to slowed down and that prompted me to apply the brakes. All of a sudden brakes failed and couldn't control the car to stop. The car just skidded and hit the van with big force. Luckily the vehicle in front of me is a shuttle and no passengers injured. Engine and front part damaged very bad and I myself hit my face to the steering wheel. I cut my lip and hit on my nose very bad. I still recovering from injuries. Though the crash is so bad, air bags didn't deploy and resulted injuries on me. The police and others who tried to help me wondered why the air bags didn't deploy. All these days I'm trying to recover from the injuries and couldn't send this complaint over. I got the website reference after checking with my insurance company. Could you please help me on this? thank you in advance.

I owned a 2007 Camry le. On 3/05/11 my brakes failed while on the highway. I carined across the highway and then the car started flipping. The car flipped at least 3 times before hitting an exit sign. The exit sign then pierced the roof of the car and landed between my legs. Thank god I wasn't seriously hurt. But through all the flipping across the concrete, my airbags did not deploy. My complaint is brake failure and lack of airbag deployment.

16 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2009

While driving my 2007 Toyota Camry and exiting off the interstate, I attempted to stop at the bottom of the ramp before turning onto the highway. The brakes were applied but car never came to a complete stop which forced me to enter onto the highway without regard to oncoming traffic. Luckily the right lane was clear and I was able to avoid an accident. The car was taken to the garage that day so they could work on it the next day. The problem was diagnosed as a bad brake booster which would need to be replaced at a cost of approximately $600. The brake failure happened with no warning. The only thing I ever noticed prior to this happening was that sometimes there would be a swooshing sound on the drivers side.
