2007 Toyota Camry. Sun visor was not tight as it should have been. The sun visor would not stay in place, and eventually it dropped down in the consumers view.
The sun visor on the driver side fell down while I was driving, it would not stay up on it's own, almost hit the car in front of me when they stop, which I couldn't see until I had push the sun visor out of the way. This is a major safely problem that I called Toyota about but they said they have not issued a recall on this problem even though alot of other owners are having the same problem.
The drivers side visor began flapping down, while I was driving along with my family in the car with me. This unfortunately this was not the first time this had occurred as the driver (myself) attempted to adjust it while operating the vehicle, which nearly caused a collision. The visor no longer would stay put at all and needed to pull over on the side of the freeway to remove the visor in order for the vehicle to be considered safe to drive, and I did not want to put myself and others at risk of going into accident while driving under this unsafe condition. This seems to be a flaw by the manufacturer. I am the only driver of this Camry which is in very gently-used condition.

The sun visor fell down on me as I was driving on the freeway. This is dangerous and a cause for concern. I contacted both the Toyota dealership and Toyota customer service, and was informed by both that even though there is an extended warranty for exactly this issue for 2007 Camrys, it only applies to american-made cars. Since my car was made in japan, it is not covered, even though the symptoms are exactly the same and I would fall under the same repair program. This is a dangerous issue and Toyota should fix it.
The driver's side sun visor will not stay up. It keeps flopping down and affects visibility.
Sun visor on driver side just dropped while driving, impeding my vision of traffic in front of me. After researching on various online forums I realized that this is a known defect, so I decided to report it.
The driver and passenger side sun visor just hang down, this is a safety issue. These sun visor are horrible is quality. I can't believe Toyota has not recalled this issue.
Driver's side visor dangles by the left side arm, impeding visibility. Visor will not stay in normal, upright position nor is it able to be manipulated so it's not in my view.
I pulled the driver side visor down to block the sun and it broke and was just hanging there by some fabric. Had to quickly pull over into the ditch to prevent an accident. No happy that there hasn't been a recall on this since I see from all the blogs that this has been an issue for quite some time.
Driver's sunvisor broke and hung down blocking my vision while driving. I think this is a safety issue that should be addressed.
The driver side sun visor fell off it's clip and obscured my visibility. Understand common problem wiith the Camry.
The sun visor on the driver side will not stay up. This is a driving hazard as it blocks the view of the driver.
The driver's side sun visor broke. The arm that goes into the sun visor came out of the sun visor. It seems that it broke the plastic inside the visor that holds it in place. This caused the visor to keep falling and not stay in place. It created a hazard so I completely removed the visor. The tab on the bar that allows the visor to snap into place has become very stiff to where it is very difficult to rotate around. The stiffness of the arm seems to be what probably broke the plastic.
The driver's side sun visor is no longer functioning. It hangs down. I am reporting this because I have read many other reports reported within this website of the same issue. I do not understand why when there are so many affected vehicles, a recall is not done. I will probably just pay to get it fixed, not much choice, but this is a safety issue, and Toyota should be asked to make this repair for affected customers at no cost to the consumer.
Cpsc# i1290186a. 2007 Toyota Camry. Consumer stated her sun visor has fallen down and will not lock back in place.
Driver's side sun visor broke causing visor to drop down and block driver's vision. Solution: bought new visor. Online cost $88.
Driver's side sun visor is defective and will not stay up. Flops down in a hazardous position obstructing visibility. The car is a 2007 Camry se.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the sun visor broke and would not hold in place. The sun visor constantly dropped downward. The dealer was notified and stated that they could replace the visor at the owner’s expense. There were no recalls or warranties addressing the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that driving at any speed, the driver side sun visor would fall and block the driver's view. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not available. The current and failure mileages were 30,000.
The driver side visor failed on me when I put it down. This seems to be a common issue with the sun visors. This issue can be a potential hazard as it obstructs my view during normal operation of the vehicle. I have to move the visor to the side in order to have a full view ahead. If the visor is left in front of me then it is hard to see traffic and traffic lights in front of me and can potentially cause an accident. Toyota should replace this part as it can be a potential hazard.
Concerning the driver's side interior sun visor; the plastic housing of the visor separated from metal arm that attaches to the roof of the vehicle (the plastic casing cracked). The visor was dangling from the metal attachment and obstructing my view, hitting my forehead as I would brake or accelerate. Had to pull it off completely to avoid visibility obstruction, distraction from driving, and being stricken on my forehead!.
Driver's side visor has broken and is hanging in the line of vision. This is causing an obstruction of view for the driver whether in the forward facing position or rotated to the left side where it blocks the driver's vision to the left. The visor was not being mishandled when it broke. This is a safety issue as the driver cannot see properly and causes problems when driving and trying to deal with the visor in order to improve visibility of the road. It is my understanding this is a common problem in the 2007 Camry yet Toyota has not issued a recall for the visors. This could potentially cause an accident.
The driver side visor is defective in my opinion which is preventing me to properly see the road. This part cannot rest on the roof but rather it droops down in a slanted angel. The rear doom light is falling apart exposing wirings in the passenger compartment.
The driver side sun visor broke and will not go back up. This inhibits my ability to drive safely especially in bright and low light situations as well as in general because it obstructs my view. Toyota will not fix it unless I pay $150!.
Sun visor broke obstructing view while driving. . Will not stay up, just hangs blocking view from driving.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry se. The contact stated that while the brakes were depressed, the front driver’s side sun visor detached. The contact also stated that the front passenger side sun visor detached on a separate occasion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 62,000.
The sun visor on the driver's side started to come off. I thought it wasn't a big problem at first until it started to come off and was literary dangling. Although this is a small part in the vehicle, this is a major safety hazard.
The sun visor is not holding up in driver side. It keeps falling down and causes loosing visibility.
First the driver side sun visor started dropping and won't stay up, then about 6 months later the passenger side did the same thing. Dealer says cost is over $200 to replace each one. This is unacceptable. I see in the Toyota forums this is a common occurrence. There should be a recall on replacing the visors. It is very unsafe. The visor blocks 33% of your vision. Especially frustrating at night.
Driver's sun visor stopped working and became increasingly worse, and Toyota wanted an arm and a leg to replace it with another that won't last any longer. When I heard the price to replace a sun visor, I felt like it was a scam to raise revenue. Now, the droopy visor significantly impairs visibility, and Toyota supposedly has a recall, but my dealer is refusing to acknowledge that my vehicle is included. Had to call Toyota corporate customer care, who acknowledged that my vehicle is included, but they are deferring back to my dealer and who knows when they'll contact me. Meanwhile I have to hunch down to drive in order to see. Trying to limit driving as much as possible. I think this is the fourth recall this vehicle has had. I've never owned a car with so many problems. And the light in the trunk no longer works either.
The driver side sun visor wont go up all the way or extend back. It hangs down part way, so if I happen to be in an accident, I'm afraid it will severly hurt my forehead. If I put it down straight, so it wont hurt me, then my field of vision is impaired. All in all, not very safe. I've read on line that 2007 and 2008 Camry's are having this problem and I'm not alone.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the sun visor broke, blocking the visibility of the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the visor assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 88,000.
Driver side sun visor broke for the second time. It won't stay up, it does not work. Dangerous if sun is in front of you. Second time this happened to me, it's not wear and tear like the dealer said. Hate to spend another $200 if it's going to brake again. It's something wrong with the part, Toyota should take care of this, I see a lot of complaints about it.
