The drivers side visor repeatedly dropped in the extreme down position, blocking my ability to see for driving. It would not stay in any upright position and hung loosely. Out of frustration for my safety and ability to drive, I had to pull it off the flimsy metal holder until I could get to the dealer. Toyota northridge did repair at no cost, although I do have an extended warranty.

The drivers side sun visor will not stay up. It just hangs down in the way. It was not damaged in any way that I can see. Just normal use. When driving I have to eiter move it to the side to see. This has caused some visibility problems when it is very bright outside and you are driving into the sun. I had to remove it as it was impeading my vision during driving. Now I have to drive one-handed in order to shield my eyes from the sun. Toyota will not replace as a warrantied item. Very dangerous to drive.

The driver side sun visor fell down into my vision, almost causing me to rear end another vehicle. Toyota doesn't consider this a warranty item and it is not covered, I have done some detective work on the internet and found that thousands of 2007 Camry owners are having this same problem, some twice after the dealership replaced the first one. This should most definitely be a recall as it is a safety hazard and could be a cause of serious if not deadly car accident.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the front driver side sun visor would no longer hold in the upward position. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed. The contact was however, informed by an authorized dealer that he would have to replace the visor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
I purchased this vehicle from sheehy Nissan on sept. 25, 2010, with 89,720 miles, one previous owner and no accidents/damage reported to carfax, after having a state inspection done of all major systems. I have the oil changed at regular intervals (most recently, sept. 23, 2011 at 110,990 miles) and had 100k mile servicing done on July 19, 2011. The engine failed during a drive to new york. Climbing the bridge out of delaware, the rpms abnormally increased. I saw the oil light illuminate, turned off the radio, opened the window and heard the engine making loud noises. I pulled to the shoulder on the approach to the new jersey turnpike. When the car came to a stop, the engine stalled and would not restart. The temperature gauge remained at the mid-way point, but a greasy film covered the back bumper. Aaa towed it back to my shop, where mechanics said they could not get the engine to turn. They said the oil pump had failed. Oil was in the engine but wasn't circulating, and they found fresh oil and metal shavings in the pan. I paid $3,819 for a complete engine rebuild for a four-year old car. Searching the internet and this website, I see a number of owners of 2007 Toyota Camrys highlighting problems with the car's engine, including sludge build up. I have received no information from the dealer about recalls. The used car warranty covered the engine but its duration was 30 days or 1k miles, whichever came first. In addition, the sun visor on the passenger's side continually slips, obscuring the view of traffic on the right, and will not remain in place - a problem I see other owners of this vehicle report. I don't see a place to enter this, but there were no injuries or deaths because I was able to pull out of traffic while the engine was still running.
2007 Toyota Camry. Consumer states sun visor fell off and into the drivers lap while driving.
The driver's side sun visor broke without the use of excessive force. It flops down whether it is tilted forward or backward. I can't see to drive unless I move it to the side, but then it blocks 80% of the view from the driver's window. I have to lean forward to see my side mirror. This is especially a problem at night.
I have a 2007 Camry. My visor fell off and hit my head and I almost had a head-on collision today! this is a safety issue. Now the visor won't stay in closed position and it keeps falling down obstructing driver's view.
The drivers side sun visor failed to stay in place after owning the car for approximately 5 years. The visor will not stay up or in any locked position and is very distracting, I have had to pin it up to keep it from falling. It seems as if there is no recall on this nor are Toyota dealerships replacing them for free. Would be nice if Toyota would fix this due to the visibility and distraction this causes while driving. After removing, I noticed that the hinge is very tight which caused the plastic visor to break. I ended up buying a new visor online and install manually. I have loved my Toyota and now am very dissapointed about this defect.
Drivers side sun visor has failed and falls down in front of driver causing a visibility issue. Toyota says it is not covered under warranty. It is obviously a defective part and searching on line shows that this has happened to numerous other Camry drivers. Part should be recalled and replaced at no cost. I own 2 Toyotas and purchased them because of the quality. This is not what I expect from Toyota and is a safety issue.
After I got this car, the following week I used the driver side sun visor and then folded back to the default position. After 2-3 seconds, the visor just flipped over from the default position (not from the clip) blocking the vision and for a moment I couldn't understand what was happening, but luckily there were not vehicles ahead of me and hence had enough time to recover. Now the visor wont stay back in the default position properly.
The driver side visor would not stay raised and in place and would flop strate down inhibiting your ability to see. We had to remove the visor completely as it was a safety hazard. Dealerships do not recognize this as an issue, and no recall has been announced by Toyota. Dealers are charging to fix this problem and it seems to be a massively widespread problem with this model. . Read more...

The driver side sun visor just falls in front of your driving view. It is very loose and will not stay in up position. It appears the locking mechanism just breaks very easily. The sun visor on the driver side does not stay in place. It drops or completely falls down. It is a safety issue as it blocks the view of the driver and can cause a car accident. Many people has reported same kind of problem and Toyota does not want to make any recall to fix this problem. It is not a tear and wear issue. It is a manufacture defects.

Total loss of function in the visor without options of moving from line of site. Car was deemed dangerous and red tagged for operation. Visor completely removed so vehicle can be transported.

Sunvisor on driver side of 2007 Toyota Camry se will not stay up. Keeps falling into my vison while driving. After looking online to find a fix, I realize this is a very common problem with this car. I almost had a wreck this morning because of the visor.
2007 Camry: the visor on the driver side is drooping down and would not stay up. It is obstructing the vision. I thought it might be a wear and tear but lot of people with the same year/model are having this problem as I read on the internet posts. Can you please look into this for a possible recall.

I had been hearing a clicking noise while using my sunvisor, and one day while driving at a high rate of speed on the interstate, the visor dropped in my face (obstructing my view). I took my car to a dealership for repairs and was quoted at $175. 00 with parts and labor. Having this visor either dangling in my face or to the left of my face, is a driving hazard that could result in an accident in which someone could suffer serious bodily harm or even a fatality. . . . . . . . . . Recall please!!.
The sunvisor on the driver side of 2007 Camry xle does not stay in place. It droops or completely falls down. Started one week ago, no accident or change in use of visor caused this. Severe danger due to inability to see properly with how the visor falls. Contacted dealer and repair is not considered part of warranty.
Driver side sun visor of car is defective, for no reason it becomes unstuck and begins to dangle in the drivers vision causing very dangerous driving for all people on the road. This happened in my vehicle without me even using it, the sun visor was not in use when it lost support and begin to dangle.
2007 Toyota Camry; the drivers side sun visor has "popped" & broken loose from the mounting bracket, in such a way that the visor will not remain in a stationary position, and hangs loosely, in line-of-sight for driving. I had to physically hold it with one hand in order to see clearly while driving in mid-day traffic. When I reached my destination I decided to remove the visor entirely because it is a dangerous interference while driving. On a search for a replacement part I found a Toyota internet forum, where this is frequent complaint for 2007 and 2008 Camry's, so it appears to be a design flaw - one that can seriously impair the driver's field of vision and cause a collision.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the drivers side sun visor was fractured and obstructed vision while driving. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry se and my driver side sun visor broke. It had been making a clicking sound when pulling it down for a few weeks and finally it started to droop and fall down while driving. Now it will not stay up at all and seems to be cracked at the connection to the ceiling of the car. The cost to repair is approximately $180. This is a safety concern as this can impede vision while driving. Also this is a known issue with this model of car. I believe Toyota needs to recall due to this safety issue.
