The vehicle has a shudder problem related to the transmission. This problem was fixed back in 2015 and has persisted since I have owned the vehicle. During acceleration of 1200-1800 rpms, the transmission begins to shudder. I have asked the dealership to fix it due to the current recall but have stated that the transmission was already fixed.

The problem that I have is the same as the one I years ago. There was a recall on 2007 Toyota Camrys for oil consumption. At the time I waws never getting the maintenance indicator because the engine would run low on oil before I needed an oil change. I am having the same problem again. The car is not leaking oil. It's consuming oil. I now must drive around with extra oil in the trunk in case the oil is low. I have been a Toyota owner since 1986. I have always thought of Toyota as being one of the most reliable cars on the road. I have taken the car to the dealer near me (Toyota south morrow, GA). Of course they do not want to further investigate this problem further. But I am sure is the problem. My mechanic also agrees that this is likely the problem. ? what component failed? engine / oil how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the car could stop at any time with engine failure, blown gaskets, etc. The problem is easily reproduce every oil change. Toyota dealership has reviewed the problem. Now the consumption is so bad I have to check the oil every 2 weeks. The low oil indicator does not come on. Is there another recall possible if this first recall doesn't fix the problem permanently.

Check engine light came on one day. Ignored it. The next morning was driving on the highway and noticed the car had some trouble accelerating, tried to switch lanes at ~40-60mph (don’t remember) and the car started to kick back and almost felt like it was coming to a complete stop. I was so scared the car would just stop in the middle of the highway because I couldn’t even change lanes without it kicking back/not accelerating enough. There was not a lot of traffic around so I was lucky enough to get the car into the far right lane and coast. An alert came on, almost immediately after, on the dash and was told to pull over due to the engine overheating. Looked at the heat gauge and noticed it was all the way to hot. Got off the highway and tried to take local roads back home, the car started to kick back almost like it was about to come to a complete stop but was able to keep going local roads, didn’t pull over (was close enough to home that I didn’t want to leave my car on the side of the road if it didn’t start back up again) and the engine eventually cooled down. Got back home to put in more coolant (there was zero coolant, never noticed a leak) car ran fine for about a week, then check engine light came back on. Took it to autozone for a scan, code came out as p26cb. Took it to Toyota for diagnostic and repair, the code they found was p26cb71. Was told by the service advisor that the car should’ve turned off automatically and I shouldn’t have been able to drive it so far with the engine over heating like that. Also was told that the engine was very close to “blowing up”.

The transmission has completely malfunctioned. The car started stalling in traffic. It then stopped registering gears and stopped pulling. The car was taken to a shop who stated transmissions issues along with a brake assist failure. The torque converter has not been released by Toyota. My car has 139000 miles. I have researched this issue and many others have reported the same problem!.
Abs light flashes randomly at me when driving and at a stop car shakes aggressively.

While driving your 2025 Toyota Camry, I experienced an unintended acceleration and brake failure causing a collision to occur on October 10, 2024 with only around 7000 miles. I was ready to park my vehicle in the garage of my company with very low speed between two vehicles, then it suddenly accelerated on its own and the brakes would not stop the vehicle. My vehicle collided with a wall only around 3 feet before my vehicle. I have concern that this incident resulted from a defect with my vehicle, so I noticed Toyota's dealer and Toyota. I suspect this is a control system failure since this is a new hybrid vehicle. I have heard online that there are several accidents happened for Toyota hybrid vehicles having similar experience: new vehicles with low speed even with foot on the brake. The unintended acceleration under low speed with foot on the brake is a safety issue. However, Toyota did not think this is a vehicle defect after its around two month's investigation.
The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the abs, service brake, and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the engine had been running hot, resulting in damages to the engine even though the temperature gauge had failed to indicate that the engine was hot(h). The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel injector for bank two. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the second dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the head gasket. The second dealer stated that there was coolant leaking into bank two. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

About a month ago my daughter left the Toyota dealership in bradenton FL. After an oil change. She drove several hundred feet, the car stalled and she couldn't start it. The mechanic crew had to push it back into the service area, after been there for 2 days they found no problem, just last Monday [xxx] she filled the car up at a gas station, as she was leaving the car stalled again and she couldn't start it, the car was towed back to same dealership, they could find a problem after being there another 2 days. I believe it's a computer chip problem, which hasn't been resolved by Toyota, I don't want my daughter to have an accident and get hurt due to this problem, perhaps your agency can look into this Toyota problem information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Vehicles dash board is melting. Produces a high shine effect that reflects sunlight into the front glass, effectively blinding the driver. Toyota has acknowledged this in a “warranty enhancement program” but will no longer repair the dashboard as the recall has “expired”. The warranty program had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle. Engine burns oil due to piston assembly manufacturing errors. Toyota has acknowledged this in t-sb-0158-14 but will no longer repair the engine as the recall has “expired”. The recall had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle.

The shifting solenoid malfunctioned, burned up transmission and created a hazard on the roadway in high traffic areas. Vehicle stalled creating a backup in traffic and myself almost got rear ended. The red mccombs Toyota did confirm it was a solenoid malfunction through a phone call and video. They concluded that the car is not operable. The problem has been inspected and was advised to pay a hefty fee of nearly $10,000. Prior to the failure no lights or warnings were provided by the car’s electrical system not until I parked and restarted the car that the lamps turned on after the failure.
Problem: unintended acceleration, air conditioner operating. Incident scenario: approaching driveway, stopped to allow pedestrian to pass. Resumed low speed turn into driveway, abrupt acceleration of vehicle, launching vehicle over granite curb and into nearby tree. Damage: passenger r. Front fender, passenger headlamp assy;lower control arm assy, front bumper cover, passenger wheel rim bent, tire deflated. Unintended vehicle acceleration is a serious safety defect and can occur when the idle air control valve is defective or is provided incorrect engine rpm signal from engine control computer causing sudden vehicle acceleration.

The check engine light came on first then as I was driving a couple days later my car begin to run hot and make a loud noise under the hood. The engine coolant light came with stop the vehicle. The meter reached the hot line. The car begin to lose power. I pulled over and checked under my hood it appears as though my coolant reservoir had splash back look. Left car parked for several hours until it cooled down went back to pick it up from parking lot and as I begin to drive it slowly rose back up to the h on gauge.
Fuel injector failed, causing the engine to run extremely rich, misfire, and cause severe drivability issues. Issue occurred just outside vehicle base warranty. Problem was verified and confirmed by vehicle dealership. Mil was illuminated when drivability issue and malfunction started.

The contact's fiancé owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. While the contact's fiancé was driving 55 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered and decelerated from 55 mph down to 20 mph. The contact stated that the check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 240,000.
The coolant bypass valve has failed and my car is at 30,000 miles. This seems like a common problem as I see a lot of other people mention needing this replaced on their Camrys and rav4s. The dealership said they are replacing all of them on Camry’s, rav4’s, and corolla’s.
Coolant bypass valve needs to be replaced on a 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid. Part failure.
Unknown. Oil is leaking and causing smoke whenever I drive for more then 15 mins.
My 2018 Toyota Camry le electric water pump failed and car is over heating. There was a recall for certain VIN# but I can't find my vehicle with VIN# affected. Today at 74500 miles my car water pump failed.
Upon leaving my home the “check engine” light turned on suddenly after only less than 2 minutes of driving . The “ics malfunction” light also turned on. The car pulled and stalled when pushing the gas and velocity stalled. Engine light turned said something similar to “engine overheating park in a safe place” . Not sure exact words. I was able drive less then one mile to get the car to Toyota penske of downey. I had the diagnostic done and the service provider stated the car needed an electrician water pump replacement. My car has very little mileage and was not running for long for it to over heat.
Ecm unkown. The dealer confirmed the ecm was out and needed to be replaced but unable to tell me why it went out. No. Just the Toyota dealership. There were no problems prior to failure.
Toyota told me my car isn’t part of NHTSA# 18v200000. . Car has all the symptom. . Losing power at driving speed. Ics malfunction take to dealer check engine light on . . Dealer states it’s water pump . . $1400. . How do you lose power from water pump . . ?.
Took my 2020 Camry to Toyota they told me the catalytic converter had issues and the engine cooling bypass valve as well. They also stated that they have a ton of Camrys and rav 4 coming in with the same issue.
The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard and the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop. The abs and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer nor an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 21v890000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 149,000. The VIN was not available.
Car shudders when accelerating past 20mph.
Toyota dealer contacted me; said my car will cost $15000 to fix. He said people at Toyota who has my exact car costed $15000 to fix! it’s known in automotive circles this year make model & engine size has this factory defect of the rear head studs stripping out and becoming loose. This causes combustion failure of the head gasket and engine block. The cylinder heads will be warped & cracked. Engine won’t hold coolant! gauge jumps to h after brief attempt at combustion. Replacing the head g. Cylinder heads or engine block is insufficient due to the factory defect . Only a total engine replacement has worked for past owners at $15000 if Toyota dies it. A mechanic said if u can fine like a 2006 lower miles engine & get mechanic to instal maybe $2000, that’s $4000. Bridgetown automotive in my area said at the very minimum in a discounted price it will be $8000. He said only a totally rebuilt engine or a new one put in will work. I’m seeking Toyota to give me a new car that doesn’t have this issue. People posting at blogs said they spent the $2200 to disassemble their engines as the auto places told them it was definitely their head gaskets causing coolant. Once opened though, it was found their head gaskets were fine. The issue was , from factory, the head studs had stripped out and were loose. This, according to engine experts is total engine failure. Only replacing everything can fix this.

Engine maintenance required is showing on dash when ac is turned on. This seems to be common among 2019 and newer Toyotas. The code says the coolant sensor needs to be replaced.
At 55,000 miles - 6 years and 6 months, the check engine light came on and car temp jumped to "off the chart high". The water pump had failed and head gasket had blown.
Check engine light- p28ae “engine coolant bypass valve b”. Checkered flag Toyota virginia beach, va states that it’s been a huge issue at their service center and that they repair several cars, weekly, with this error. The rep told me that this should be a recall and can’t sure why it’s not, due to the sheer volume of this issue.
In January my starter caught on fire while driving down the road, and again in April causing me to lose days of work. Caused positive cable to battery to melt.
