I don't feel safe driving my Toyota Camry 2018. The car feel very heavy when driving, tge steering wheel are stiff and difficult to move sometimes. The brakes are not stable like they should even after I paid for it to be fix. The gas gauge refuse to open when it's time to fuel gas the car makes noises. It's very frustrating and it's not worth what I pay for.

After driving my car for about 30 minutes maintaining a speed of about 60 to 65 I keep smelling coolant from underneath the hood when I get out of my car. Also my engine sounds a little rough from when I bought it. Took it to the dealership back in April they said it was normal that the engine was breaking in. Taking my car back to dealership tomorrow let's see what they say this time.

As I was driving, all of the lights (oil, brake, abs, check engine) all of it came on at the same time and made a noise and the car shut down , while I was driving. I am a college student with a commute, and thank god I was near a neighborhood to pull over immediately. I tried waiting 10 minute to restart, and it would not even start because the whole thing was dead and the lights were on. This nearly killed me. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

Purchased my 2019 Toyota Camry xle couple of weeks back with 5 miles on it. Noticed the vehicle had issues with acceleration. When resuming to drive from a red light or stopped position, the car seem to have a major delay in acceleration and makes a loud engine noise when pressing the gas pedal. Even pressing down a bit more on the gas pedal during this initial acceleration, the car does not react much and barely picks up speed. There is a major delay, one that can be dangerous when merging onto a highway where quick acceleration is needed to avoid being a hazard to other motorists. Have not taken vehicle back to Toyota service dealer but did text my salesman and described the issue and he said to setup an appointment. I have a feeling the service department will come back saying it's nothing is wrong and functioning normally. To me this is a major design flaw that has safety concerns tied to it. Please help in any way you can. Need Toyota to do a recall on this vehicle in order to fix this issue.

Engine was making noise ans intermittently stalled. Took the dealer. He charged $135 for the diagnosis and said the engine is burning excessive oil. Real solution is to replace the engine for $4500. He did not offer any compensation. I got the engine oiled filled and drove back home. The car is useless for me. I cannot sell it or trade it. It is a junk now.

Vehicle was purchased in October 2017,within the first week the became noticeably louder. Initially we thought that the vehicle needed to be warned up. However the vehicle remains in high idle mode for long period of time as though the throttle is sticking. When vehicle is not in use, if restarted within 5-10 minutes the responds the same as before very high idling and sounds as though it has no oil getting to the engine(valvetrain). Car takes several moments to accelerate while the pedal is very stiff and the rpm's does not match the acceleration time. Feels like the brakes stick when you come to a complete stop. Driving on highway car tends to pickup on power itself while within the next few minutes losing power again. When exiting the highway to start city speed limits after taking off from a stop the rpm's increase however car doesn't move at desired speed(drags). Engine sounds like there is metal running through it as well as the sounds it makes while idling. Ticking. Shaking, knocking all at once. I have a video of the engine noise and the way it shakes but your attachment only allows for 5mb and the video has more than 5mb. The car was taken to the dealership several times regarding this specific issue however the response was always we couldn't find anything and vehicle either needs a light on or needs to be currently showing the problem right then. They even compared it to other Camry's to make sure they said but the car was still doing the same symptoms while we were there and as we left. The vehicle is sounding far worse than it was from November 2017- to this current day and doesn't seem to be driving any better and it's beginning to feel unsafe. Also the video I have will not attach to your formats. It's only allowing photos.
I brought my car in 2015 and when I told the person at mechanicsville Toyota that my brakes were making a noise they informed me to bring to the shop. When I did the mechanic's stated that there was nothing wrong with it. And for the past two years they have told me nothing wrong and now everything associated with that is wrong. All of a sudden when I spoke to am anger the same thins I stated was wrong with it is now what is wrong with it. The abs acuator. . .

Known issue of excessive oil consumption where the oil change light comes on just into 1,000 miles after changing oil. The local dealer at ira Toyota of tewksbury, MA. 01876 - tried to fix the problem the first time but the problem came back or was still there. I have since complained to Toyota us at 1-800-331-4331 they opened a case#1701232302 for my issue but now say that the local Toyota and even regional stores cannot take my car back to fix it again the local store says that I am out of warranty because I came back after 14,379 miles I am now stuck with a car that has already stopped on me right in the middle of the street - with the steering wheeling blocking suddenly and for me having to veer quickly on the curb while the steering wheel is hard to control. I can hear a squeeling noise when I change gears ( manual car) and when I put the foot on the clutch. The car shakes a lot when I change gears and I am about to stop. I am afraid for my safety and of course lots of inconveniences because I cannot use this car for many activities involving my family or just anywhere past 10 miles of my house. I am hoping that I can get help with this issue which is a known issue by Toyota, an issue that they did not fix properly in the first place and now they are just hoping that I can go away by denying me my rights to proper service. I told Toyota us that it does not make sense how a known issue can be fixed and just within 1 year it comes back.
The contact owns a 2001 Toyota Camry. While driving 25 mph, an abnormal revving sound emitted from the vehicle without warning. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was able to be stopped by turning into a parking garage. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 82,000.

Starting in 2013 I was having problems with oil usage. Of course I was told it was a random issue and not happening to other vehicles. My engine blow in Jan 2014. I had to pay to replace it because it wasn't under warranty. Around August of 2015 I get a letter about the oil consumption. I took it to my local dealer for the test, of course my engine failed the test. We scheduled to have the parts replace in sept 2015. The work was completed and it had a engine noise which I was told was normal. In Feb 2016 my engine blew again !! I took it back to the dealer and was told they did nothing wrong !! how ?? it was fine, just using oil up until they took it apart and fixed the problem !! now they refuse to do anything because it was not the original motor !! but I had the same problem with the original motor and they did nothing then either !! so I have a car sitting in storage that cant be driven and they want to nothing !!.

Me and my wife brought the car off inland wires brother his mom got it brand new we got it with only about 40000. 00 miles now we just turned 90000. 00 miles the motor making bad noise Toyota knew this problem when car was manufactured, but they still sold it with bad motor. The motor had under 50000. 00 miles when it started knocking losing oil,anti-freeze Toyota knew this bad motor from factory.
I purchased my 2007 Toyota Camry in July 2006, new. At approximately 50k miles, when turning corners my engine sounded like it was stalling, the accelerator did not work, and a "low engine fuel" warning came on. I took my car into the dealership and was assured by the dealership that there was nothing wrong with my car. This same incident occurred at least 7 times since and each time I was assured by the dealership that there was nothing wrong with my car. My car was still under factory warranty, and then my extended warranty when these incidents first occurred. I'm now at 108k miles. For the past two weeks while driving and durning corners, the "low engine fuel" warning displayed briefly. Since the dealership previously assured me that nothing was wrong with my car, and my car had 2k more miles before my next oil change, I continued to drive my car. Then on Sunday, June 25th I decided to have auto zone take a look at my car. To my utter surprise, there was absolutely no oil on the stick when the auto zone guy checked my oil levels. I purchased two quarts of oil and the auto zone guy put the oil in my car. The following Saturday I took my car to my usual Toyota dealership and explained my experience. The service advisor informed me that my piston is probably worn out and oil is probably leaking into my engine, which would be a $4k repair cost. As I stated to the service advisor, at any moment my car can conk out while driving, because oil is leaking into my engine and the only time a warning appears is when I turn corners. If I'm driving on a highway where speeds are in excess of 80 mph, and my car conks out because oil is leaking into my engine, that is a huge safety concern. A service technician who overheard our conversation stated, "yeah, the engines on those cars are a piece of junk. " Toyota refuses financial responsibility.
I pulled into a parking space, stopped, and was in the process of pulling up the emergency brake, when the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The car bolted going over the parking curb and continuing on into a building, all with no momentum as the car was stopped. One witness said it was a very loud revving sound. Two others said it sounded like a truck. The person who was behind me said my brake lights were on.

Engine light is not on but engine is making a noise.
While driving uphill on i80 in PA our engine suddenly lost power. Warning light flashed and buzzer sounded. We were able to move over a lane and then off road. We were lucky. After shutting off power switch, we were able to start and accelerate normally. We noticed that our hybrid 3013 Camry was then no longer in eco mode. We then figured out what happened. Reaching into the storage compartment, I accidentally touched the ev button which turned off the gas engine. The electric motor was not strong enough alone to keep up a safe speed. We suddenly decelerated and luckily were able to avoid a serious accident.

Uses excessive oil - oil is low before it is time for scheduled oil change. When motor is put in reverse, the motor vibrates ( even the front seats). It vibrates and makes noises when driving or just idle.
We brought this car from rosner Toyota in fredericksburg va I question the engine noise from start up and it continues now extreme engine noise from start up while running until shut down sounds like a bent push rod or collapsed lifter or both it makes a large amount of noise on start up slows down as it warms up but it is still there always. I was told by the dealer they all make that noise that year I've listen to other Toyotas from that year guess what no noise ever from the ones I listen to surprise I got lied to again. What a joke this has become.
The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated tat while driving 60 mph, there was a loud screeching noise from the engine area as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who performed a diagnostic and advised that they could not detect any failure codes nor could the failure be duplicated. The failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was notified of the issue by mail but there was no response. The failure mileage was 1,500.
I was driving at 60 mph on highway but suddenly the engine revved all the way to 7000 rpm and the car jerked violently. I put my foot off the accelerator but the engine still stays at 5000 rpm and doesn't go back down to normal. Had to pull over to the shoulder with emergency light on. Tried to get back on the highway but at 35 to 40 mph, the engine made loud revving noise and the rpm jumped to 7000 again. Had to pull over again and call for a tow truck.
I have a 2009 Toyota Camry, I was driving it to ocean city MD when all of the sudden my car stalls I started it again and it started but started to make a really loud pinging noise and stalled out again. So I look under the car and there is a really big puddle of oil. I towed it to Toyota so they could tell me what was wrong with it. Turns out a rod of some kind came lose and went thru my oil panel which drained out all the oil in turn making my engine seize up because it was getting no oil. Toyota wont fix it because I was late on some oil changes and got the last one done by somebody else. And they say it could have been cause the oil was low but that's impossible!.
First I heard a squealing noise, then my ac light started blinking and blowing hot air. I got home 5 miles later and turned the car off. Within 2 minutes a huge puddle of oil collected on the driveway under the passenger side of the engine.
We bought this brand new 2007 Camry from dealer back in 2006. It has been maintained through Toyota dealers (longo Toyota most of time) since then. In Jan 2012, the engine sounded abnormal. We took it to the dealer and was told that there was oil "leaking" and the car was out of warranty. We paid out of own pocket to fix the "oil leaking" as suggested by the dealer, but the oil still keeps disappearing after around 2000 miles' driving. Now it is getting worse and worse, I have to check oil level and add 1 quart every 500 miles!.
In August, my wife and I noticed our 2001 Toyota Camry le made a noise like it was missing on one cylinder. We watched to see if the problem persisted. We were still under our extended warranty and took the vehicle to a local mechanic we trust. He discovered the middle valves were stuck or sticking in the valve sleeve, causing the "mis-firing" sound we heard. Further, we were told the remedy was to have the head machined, replace the damaged sleeves and this would resolve the problem. In asking another mechanic about the issue, we learned this is a common flaw in the 4 cylinder Camry engine. In fact, our mechanic had 3 separate cars of the same age in for the same exact repair in a 2 week period. This seems a little deceptive, especially as you search the internet to discover there are several customers who found this flaw long after their warranty expired. We buy vehicles with the intent to keep them; we focus on what we believe to be quality manufacturers with a quality product. This lack of follow-through and care for the customer is a blatant disregard of the trust placed in their hands. Technically, we are only out very minor fees and the time it took to deal with the matter. This was not a consumer product, where the result is annoyance and frustration, but it was a mode of transport, carrying our lives on a daily basis. How can a company carelessly disregard the impact of its' products construction with so much on the line everytime it is used? I am very disappointed in Toyota, especially in light of the recent news about drops in product quality. As they focus on the bottom line, little concern is shown to the consumer who risks a lot.
My car has been burning up oil since I have purchased it in 2006. I have a 2007 Toyota Camry and have been recently researching this excessive oil problem. I have had no letter from Toyota about it, but I see that the Toyota dealers have gotten a bulletin about this. When I actually noticed the problem it was because my car was making strange noises and I decided to check my fluid levels. My oil light never comes on to make me aware that my car is low on oil. Then I check the dipstick to see that it is dry!!! my car now has 154,000 miles on it and the problem is getting even worse. I have had to add a quart of oil ever 400 miles. This is not new to me since I buy oil constantly and check my dipstick every other day. I just recently called a Toyota dealer to get my car in for an oil consumption test and they told me that I need a copy of all my receipts from every oil change? I don't understand the reasoning behind that. Also I have made different dealers aware of my problem and I have even sent an email to the Toyota corp. Now that there is a solution to the problem you have to be in the warranty period?!? I have had to also replace my cat and 4 months later my engine light comes on and it is reading the same cat code when I had it checked. I am wondering if the excessive oil burning is actually clogging my cats.
2005 Toyota solara. If it is driven for 1 hour, engine noise is louder when brake is pressed while waiting for traffic light. If, I move auto transmission stick to n, noise is caml down. This does not happen if car is driven lesser than 15 minutes.

When applying the brakes vehicle made noises, engine accelerated, and vehicle surged forward. Owner took the vehicle to the dealer, and the dealer told the owner that this problem could not be duplicated. Therefore there was nothing they could do.
The engine in my 1998 Toyota Camry threw a rod (#4) through the engine block. There were no warning signs, like abnormal engine noise or loss of power, before this catastrophic failure. The vehicle has 67000 miles and has had the oil changed within the manufacturer's recommended guidelines. Also, the 45000 mile maintenance was performed at the Toyota dealership. The local Toyota management said that I did not posses sufficient maintenance records to support them paying for the replacement engine. I had the receipts from the oil changes. Toyota corporation told me that they are not responsible for cars over 60000 miles. My complaint with the manufacturer is pending review.

While exiting interstate 75s, 5-year-old Toyota Camry made strange engine noises and later began smoking heavily. After smoke cleared, there was a hole in the engine. Mechanic said that could be engine oil sludge problem and/or "thrown rod. " dealer completed 5-year-maintenance check on 8/28/03.
We purchased a new 2003 Toyota Camry le. After about 6 months or so we began to hear a water sloshing sound under our dashboard. We thought maybe it was because our driveway was at a slope and maybe the position the car was in, the fluids were rushing through the engine. So we parked in the street. The same noise continued when we braked, turned and stopped. After trying to remedy the problem we took our car to the dealership and they test drove the car and said"OH,that's a normal engine sound" I said I don't think so and went to another dealership who said that it sounds like air in the hoses. They bled the system and it worked for a couple of days and then returned. Back to the dealership 5 more times. Finally they threw up their hands and said for us to give them 60 more days to try to figure out the problem which it was now in arbitration. How can they try to figure out the problem if we still had the car in our posession? we continued to drive this car putting on miles not knowing that when they buy back your car they deduct the miles from the cost of which they pay you on the lemon law buyback. So had they kept the car ,knowing they couldn't remedy the problem, our monies would have been more. They are buying our car back and we feel extremely cheated. We bought a new vehicle. Not a Toyota.

My Camry started acting funny. While leaving work to take my car to the Toyota dealer, the engine started making noises so I pulled over, shut the car off and waited for the tow truck. This was Wednesday June 25, 2003. On Friday morning, my husband was notified that we needed a new engine because of "oil gelling" or "oil sludging" and it would be $3,500. I took all of the paperwork with a copy of the June 2002 Toyota letter to my dealer to see if I would "qualify" for their support program. When I asked the service tech why the cars had not been recalled due to the extent of damage that could be caused and he told me it was only a small number of consumers. I have found that to be untrue. I would expect for Toyota to pay for a new engine plus a comporable rental car until my car is fixed along with offering a extended or new warrenty sine the same problem seems to be reoccurring.
Since I purchased this car it has been problems, first it was the brakes vibrating, took it in and right away the dealer knew what it was without me even explaining it to him, they fixed that in 2 trips. Then it was the rotten egg smell, they could not find anything wrong. (then why does my car stink when I try to get power out of the engine?) then it was the knocking and pinging in the engine, (I was told that they could not duplicate the problem, but my octane level was low to upgrade my gas. The manufacturers provided owners manual states 87 octane gas or higher, I already use 89 octane and have since the day I bought the car, so why should I have to spend money on higher priced gas when the car is only 1 year old and the engine should not make any noises. Now it is the tires and alignment the alignment is completely off that the tires are destroyed with only 17,250 miles on them, yet the car shows no sign of the alignment being off, it drives straight stays in one lane and the steering wheel is even straight, so how after one year with low miles is the alignment off and the tires are destroyed, and why was it unnoticed when I had my tires balanced and rotated 2 months earlier at 15,000 miles? by the same dealership! I feel that this car has alot of problems that the manufacturer does not want to address, look at how many other people are having the same problems, and we are all told that it is wear and tear or that there is no problem at all, well then why are we all having the same problems? I called Toyota's main office logged a complaint and was told that someone would get back to me, it has been 3 days now and not one call has come my way! I feel that I should not have to pay for the repairs to this car since it is a nation wide problem, especially since it is a $27000. 00 car that has depreciated in value by more than $7000. 00 in less than one year, what happened to Toyota's retaining there value? I wish everybody much luck with their issues.

My husband was driving down the expressway at a normal speed, when all of sudden the engine started making noises. It was driven to the nearest safe place to stop, at which the engine ceased functioning. I'm told that the engine needs to be rebuilt for a cost of $4500. I presently owe $12,000 on this car. This is due to the so-called "oil sludge problem" and I demand immediate compensation in this matter. Evidently thousands of other customers have had similar problems.
