2 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2019 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 12/03/2020

Started noticing that the car was feeling weak when accelerating, and with no reason at all, at speeds around 70mph the car shuts down completely. You lose steering and braking capabilities which makes it hard to safely merge into the emergency lane. Toyota has a knowledged the recall but with no remedy as of yet (it has been since October 2020 that they recall was issued), and says car is unsafe that if I drive vehicle to stay in right lane of interstate which to me is just as dangerous as traveling in any lane on interstate, though they recommended not driving vehicle. As far as I can tell, the vehicle only will stall out at a higher speed (around 70mph).

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2016 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 12/06/2019

The vehicle suddenly stops running while driving engine shuts off. Need to put it into park and restart it. It has happened 4 different times in the last 30 or so days even after it was in the dealer twice. Last time it was repaired it died on the service manager. Luckily it has happened when driving in town and not on the highway when going 75 miles an hour. Note: this has happened on 3 separate occasions but can only put in 1 date.

4 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2014 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 12/02/2016

Engine shuts off when stopped at light. Depress the accelerator and the car hesitates and rapidly accelerates. This in an intermittent problem that started about 34,000 miles. Every time I've taken it to the dealer, they are unable to duplicate the issue. Extremely frustrating and sometimes dangerous.

5 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2007 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 10/08/2016

2007 Toyota Camry bought used with 62,500 miles on October 4, 2016. On October 8th I was exiting off the highway slowly easing off the gas pedal to decrease my speed and my car shuts down!!!! stops running !!! I lost the power steering of course. Did at least two and a half 360's until I came to a stop in the middle of a 3 lane road. It happened so fast I have no idea how I kept it from leaving the road. Took it back to the dealer I purchased it from. They couldn't find anything wrong with the front end. Their thoughts are it shut off and to go buy fuel injector the next time I get gas. I could have been seriously injured with this happening. Now I'm so paranoid about driving the car and feel very unsafe.

6 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2004 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 03/04/2013

I was driving, took a corner and my car turned off without warning or signal, and I lost power steering and hit another parked vehicle. I proceeded to turn my car back on, drive ten feet and the engine shut off again without warning. I went to the auto body shop and they stated it was a code 2112 throttle issue. I researched on the internet and saw several other consumer complaints about this same issue with the same make/model/year and around the same mileage as my car has. Toyota is not recalling or providing free service on the parts and I was given an estimate of over 1300. 00 to fix. Seeing that this is normal wear and tear - I didnt do a thing to cause this to happen, and it's a safety issue, I believe they should be replacing and or recalling these vehicles.

10 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 1999 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 11/01/2007

Since 2007 I have noticed some type of engine difficulty with the Toyota. The engine shuts off while running (it is an automatic transmission. ) also, alternator and battery receive too high a charge resulting in computer system overheating. I have replaced both alternator and battery several times, much more than necessary and problem remains with the obd system. This also causes engine to have surges of power while driving affecting cruise control. . . I don't know if this is also a problem relative to current Toyota issues-online someone has a 2002 solara with same problem. My parents have 01 solara-no problems reported. My old Lexus had similar problems my 1989 celica was a great car. Would not own again-would like to sell nut concerned for safety of any future owner(s. ).
