Driver side visor has failed. It has fallen completely down and will not stay in the upright position. I rarely use the visor. After some searching, I have found this is a huge problem. My visor blocks my view of the front road and also part of my rear view mirror. I contacted Toyota headquarters in California and was given a case number. The rep stated that Toyota is aware of the sun visor defect complaints and are "calmly" deciding if and how the complaints will be addressed. They stated that there will absolutely not be any repair assistance unless they decide to issue a recall. Bascially saying this is my problem and that I have to deal with it no matter how costly. The dealer quoted $134 parts not including labor. I am not able to afford this expense at the moment and have removed the visor out of safety concerns for myself and family. From all of the complaints I have found, and by Toyota's own admission regarding awareness of the defect, it should be recalled for being a safety hazard and malfunction of equipment.

Driver side visor has failed. At first it was just a bit loose so I didn't really mind. Now it has fallen almost completely down and will not stay in the up position. Normal wear might have been considered except my car is only 4 yrs old and I rarely use the visor. After some searching I have found this is a huge problem. My visor blocks my view of the front road and also part of my rearview mirror. I contacted the dealer and was quoted $134 parts not including labor. I am not able to afford this expense at the moment so I am going to have to remove the visor. From all of the the complaints I have found it should be recalled for being a safety hazzard and malfunction of equipment.
I bought a 2011 Toyota Camry two and a half months ago--problem is yhe rear window during night driving on the freeway with many car headlights hitting the window and the rearview(mirror-- the image on the rear view mirror is like viewing a wet spider web with a scintillating grid because of the wires embedded in the glass,(whether for defrost or radio reception ido not know) this grid in the rear window causes a distorted image --it is a dangerous situation because the image suffers from 'image static' which causes the driver to sort out the headlights from the 'static'--it is very tiresome drivingat night on the freeway--try it and you shoukd see thre is something not right--I have never experienced this in other cars--it is unsafe, the window should not break up the light coming through it -very distracting.

The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Camry. While driving 30 mph, the overhead compartment directly above the rearview mirror came down and struck the contact in the eye. The glasses she was wearing prevented the injury from being severe. The contact pulled off the road and learned that the cover to the compartment and the mechanism that controls the sunroof failed. She was able to close the compartment until she returned home, but it would not completely latch back together. The sunroof has never been used. The current and failure mileages were 54,000. The current mileage was 1,940 and failure mileage was 800. Updated 01-10-08. Updated 01/08/08.

When I step on the brake pedal of my 2002 Camry xle, the pedal can be depressed to such an extent that my foot also rests on the gas pedal causing the engine to rev up and the car not to stop as expected. This has occurred 3 times since I bought the car. Date below is approximate. The interior rearview mirror is an auto dimming type and does not have a manual device to orient the mirror when driving at night. The consumer states the mirror does not dim sufficiently (or at all) to prevent annoying glare from the headlights of following vehicles. The mirror must be manually tilted at night causing loss of mirror use.
Vanity mirror fell off driver's side visor. The mirror had only been used to a minimal degree--once a month or less in the 20 months since purchase. A short time after, visor hinge became loose. Toyota said plastic hinges were worn and entire visor needs to be replaced at a cost of over $200. 00 for parts and labor. Clearly the parts used in the visor hinge and to attach the vanity mirror to the visor are defective. There is a possibility that either part could dislodge while driving causing at the very least a distraction to the vehicle operator that could lead to an accident. Mr.
