1 Wiper problem of the 2023 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/01/2026

We bought our 2023 Camry brand new off the lot and had no idea until the first rainstorm we were in that there was an issue with the wiper motor. Anytime there is moderate to hard rainfall and we turn the wipers on high they run at a low speed causing poor to no visibility. We have to pull over every time wait out the rain. We’ve mentioned our concern many times to the dealership where we have our Toyotas serviced and they just tell us they don’t see a recall for this problem. This is incredibly dangerous and hazardous and it needs to be fixed - we just don’t know how to go about it at this point.

2 Wiper problem of the 2008 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 04/14/2026

The dashboard in my 2008 Toyota Camry le has deteriorated over time and has melted, becoming sticky and glossy. This condition causes sunlight to reflect off the dashboard onto the windshield, creating a strong glare. This glare significantly impairs my visibility while driving, especially in bright daylight conditions. At times, I am unable to clearly see traffic, road conditions, or other vehicles. This creates a dangerous situation and increases the risk of a crash. The issue has progressively worsened over time. There were no warning messages or indicators prior to this condition developing. The problem appears to be caused by the dashboard material degrading under normal use and heat exposure. I reported this issue to Toyota dealers, including fremont Toyota and milpitas Toyota, but no corrective action was taken. The condition remains unresolved. The defective dashboard is available for inspection upon request. This issue represents a safety hazard due to reduced driver visibility.

4 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 03/31/2026

In multiple instances, the windshield has cracked and spread so quickly that the windshield requirement a replacement for it to be safe to drive. 2 times the cracks appeared with the no indication as to what may have caused them, and the other 2 times I could hear a rock chip, but could not see the rock. Any repair attempts to the windshield have resulted in failure and required a replacement instead. The cracks spread nearly instantly after the initial crack. I have replaced this 3 times so far, totaling around $2500 dollars in repairs. With the most recent crack, it has spread 6 inches within 20 minutes of the initial crack, and will likely require replacement for the car to be safe to drive. There must be some sort of issue with the glass build quality or structural integrity. I have had 4 cracked windshields in less than two years.

5 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 03/20/2026

While pulling out of my driveway, I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately afterward, there was a burning plastic-type odor. At that time, there were no visible signs of damage, no warning lights on the dashboard, and the vehicle appeared to be operating normally. Later that day, while driving, I noticed a shimmering effect in the bottom right corner of the windshield that caught my attention. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the windshield had cracked. It appeared that the earlier popping sound was caused by the initial crack, which was now beginning to spread. I took the vehicle to the dealership that same afternoon to have the issue documented. The technician on duty inspected the windshield, along with a sales advisor and my original salesperson, who was present at the time. The following day, I returned to the dealership, where the service director examined the windshield and found no evidence of impact damage. I was then instructed to bring the vehicle back for evaluation by an official manufacturer representative. After a visual inspection by the Toyota rep, I was informed that the damage would not be covered under warranty. This was over a month after I initially reported the issue and the crack had spread much further by that point. The windshield appears to have broken spontaneously, yet the manufacturer has declined to repair or replace it under warranty coverage. The damage came from the interior portion of the glass which seems like a manufacturing defect.

8 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 11/20/2025

Wiper blades motor is way too slow. This is on high and dangerously to slow to operate my vehicle in semi heavy rainfall. All my other vehicles are way faster. The 2025 hybrid is the unsafest to drive in rain. Online many have stated same issues. One owner mentioned coming here to report it.

9 Wiper problem of the 2021 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 11/11/2025

Purchased this vehicle at a big dealership and driving noticed glaring across the windshield try washing not helping took vehicle to glass shop that told me windshield damaged from rock chips and was pitted all the way through and could not be repaired has to be replaced dealership refuses to replace even though it has glare in sunlight and impairs my vision when driving the custom relation manager said it would have to be shattered or cracked before they would fix she referred me to go to a tint shop to have inside tint installed to help with the glaring that’s a negative because that can make it worse for seeing this damage was not disclosed during sale so this falls under deceptive sale practice and this is bad business the vehicle has car fax report and was a commercial vehicle so this all makes sense why the windshield is as bad as it is also dealership told me to contact my insurance and deal with it that way this is a safety issue when driving and the sun makes it glare and hard to visibly see I want the dealership to take responsibility for this repair since it wasn’t disclosed to me at time of sale this purchase was done November 5 2025 it’s only been a couple weeks also when I purchased this vehicle the first day of driving I noticed wrong tire speed rate was on car the vehicle calls for 95 h and it had 95 t which is a lower speed rate and is a safety issue as well on 11/11/25 I replaced out of my pocket and put four tires with proper speed rate for that vehicle I’m demanding to this dealership for reimbursement on that as well… safelite glass did estimate on windshield and I purchased proper tires at big chief.

10 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

1. The driver side door has a rattling sound when driving. It sounds like the door is not shutting all the way. Air/noise comes through. The noise is annoying when driving and I am concern that the door will open. This does not make me feel safe. 2. Windshield is fragile. Within a month of purchasing my Camry, my windshield cracked (passenger side). A couple months later I see another crack on the drivers side. I am afraid that it will shatter soon enough and cause me not to be able to drive safely on the road. 3. Paint is already chipping on the hood of my 2025 Camry.

11 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 10/11/2025

Infotainment system glitching with green lines and blacking out when utilizing back up camera. Could cause potential safety concerns or accidents. Have video evidence, reported to Toyota, no remedies due to "no active recalls". No indication or symptoms prior to failure. First appeared on October 11, 2025, appeared again October 21, 2025.

Failure Date: 09/17/2025

Driving with no problems at all and windshield starts cracking at the right middle side of the windshield, this is without and contact from any flying object at all, no rocks, no projectiles.

13 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

I am writing to report a couple of issues with my new 2025 Camry le, which I purchased just one week ago. First, I've noticed a significant squeaking noise when I apply the brakes while reversing or parking. This is a consistent sound and is quite loud. It's look like there an issue with brake in new car additionally, the windshield wipers are making a lot of noise. I've never experienced this with other vehicles, including my 2022 car, which has much quieter wipers. The noise from the new Camry's wipers is quite distracting.

14 Wiper problem of the 2011 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 07/15/2025

Passenger sun visor broke years ago. I was able to keep it from falling down by using a large metal clip to hold it up, however it could not be lowered when needed by a passenger. Drivers sun visor broke (would not stay up) yesterday, blocking my view. I understand 2006-2011 Camrys were recalled for this problem. However, I was told my VIN # was not included. Why? my car obviously has a visor defect. I was able to pull over and push it to the side, which interferred with my side vision, but was better than holding it up as I drove. Its very dangerous to have a visor fall straight down and block vision with no warning! millage when passenger sun visor broke was apx. 45000 to 50000. I purchased as a certified used car in oct. 2016 from sloan Toyota I am only driver and I qualify for low millage state inspections today I received a quote from sloan Toyota of $476. 00 to fix both visors. Thank you for your help with this issue.

15 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

I have own this car for 1 year and already placed the front windshield two both times a small crack/chip occurred on the passenger side with no known cause. The chip grew because of heat and resulting in me having to replace it. Additionally safelite technicians also informed me that the glass is so thin they are unable to repair it and always results in a complete replacement. I also own a 2014 Toyota tundra and have never had to replace this windshield even when I can recall a large rock impacting the window on the highway. I believe Toyota has significant issues with this glass and should have to recall the windows and reimburse me for my expenses. There are other incidents where dealerships have replaced them for free acknowledging there is a problem.

16 Wiper problem of the 2016 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 06/30/2025

The engine quit running whenever the headlights, turn signals, or wipers were turned on. This was obviously a serious safety problem when driving! it began intermittently on 6/30/25, but it became a consistent problem by 7/7/25, so I took the car to the closest Toyota dealership for evaluation. I can provide their service report to you if requested. It took them 6 hours and $1000 to diagnose the problem as bad electrical grounding points (high resistance), which were only revealed after they removed the front bumper. In my opinion, it is an unsafe design to have poor grounding for headlights cause the engine to die.

17 Wiper problem of the 2019 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 06/29/2025

The wiper doesn’t operate fast enough in the fastest setting to move the rain from the drivers view in heavy rain. Driver is forced to reduce speed to 40 mph which is dangerous on an interstate. Also, the passenger side wiper pushes the water from 3/4 of the windshield into the drivers view. This is widely discussed on Toyota forums but no motor upgrade is offered that make the wipers move faster. Florida storms require faster settings to see vehicles and the roadway.

18 Wiper problem of the 2011 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 06/04/2025

I started noticing a glare on my 2011 Toyota Camry on the inside on the dashboard. It appeared shiny and I figured I accidentally cleaned it with the wrong product. It started at the closet point of the windshield so I didn’t worry about it. Today (6/4/25) I went to clean it again and noticed the whole dashboard was extremely sticky and nothing would clean it off. Paper towels and microfiber towels stuck to it. I noticed the dash was coming apart when I tried to clean it. I called Toyota customer service and they informed me they sent a letter in 2018 about the class action lawsuit and that they were replacing the dashboard. I do not remember ever getting this letter. They woman tried to ask someone higher up about trying to help me since the cut off date was 2021. They said there was nothing they could do due to it not being done in 2021. This is a safety issue due to the glare when driving. I believe this needs to be a recall and that customers should be able to have Toyota fix it. It’s continue to melt and it’s going to end up ruining the whole car. Please take cere of this, please check it as a recall. I would assume this would mess with the airbags as well. I cannot afford to have the whole dashboard replaced, when it should be a recall due to Toyota being at fault. It’s their responsibility to test these things and they failed big time with this. A dashboard should not melt.

19 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 06/01/2025

I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the front bumper assembly on my brand-new Toyota Camry hybrid. The front bumper repeatedly detaches, separates, and pulls away from the vehicle during normal driving conditions. This has occurred multiple times despite repeated repair attempts by the authorized Toyota dealership. Toyota and the dealership have acknowledged that this is a known issue affecting other vehicles and have admitted that there is currently no permanent repair remedy available. Despite this, the defect has been misclassified as “cosmetic,” which is inaccurate and unsafe. The bumper is a critical safety component designed to absorb and distribute crash forces. A bumper that is already detached or partially unsecured compromises crash force pathways and reduces occupant protection in the event of a collision. If an accident occurs, the bumper cannot perform its intended safety function, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, I can hear air intrusion entering the vehicle through the front area where the bumper is separating, confirming that the vehicle’s exterior seal and structural integrity are compromised while driving. This vehicle has never been in an accident and is operated under normal conditions. A front bumper should not detach on a new vehicle. This is not a cosmetic concern it is a safety defect that places occupants at risk. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential pattern defect and require Toyota to address it as a safety matter rather than mislabeling it to avoid corrective action.

20 Wiper problem of the 2009 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/18/2025

I purchased a 2009 Toyota Camry on [xxx]. After a few years, the dashboard became soft and sticky. During the summer of 2018, I noticed it melting on a hot sunny day. I looked into having it replaced. There was a warranty enhancement notification letter previously sent to me, which stated this type of known problem would be covered for up to 10 years since car was first placed in service. Unfortunately, I didn’t determine this was enough of a problem to me until [xxx]. I missed the warranty extension by 5 days. I contacted newbold Toyota on June 29, 2018, and the service manager said that after the 10 years, it was the manufacturer's responsibility and there is nothing they can do, except to charge me for the repair. The repair was estimated at approx. $1,500 for the dashboard replacement. At first, I thought "OH well, I can live with this. " but now the dashboard has melted so much that it now reflects sunlight into the windshield so badly that it is has become a safety hazard. It is very difficult to see through the windshield when driving towards the sun or with the sun directly above on a sunny day (even while wearing sunglasses). So the defective dashboard is now causing a very hazardous driving condition. So I contacted the national Toyota customer service center, and they said essentially the same thing as newbold Toyota. There was nothing they can do now. Since this design/material flaw has caused such a serious hazard when driving the car, and this is now a safety issue, I believe Toyota should be held responsible and should pay for the repair to fix this safety issue. When I purchased this car, I had no idea the dashboard had an expiration date. Had I noticed the melting a few days earlier they would have paid for the replacement. So why does their responsibility to fix this defect/safety issue end after 10 years? I don’t believe Toyota considers this a safety issue, or I believe they would fix it. Thank you. 21 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/11/2025

The front windshield has a large crack from the top middle to the middle left on the passenger’s side. I didn’t notice anything hit it, just got in the car and it was there. It is available for inspection, but with the length of the crack I don’t feel safe driving it. I’ve read reviews online that the new Camry’s windshield is a faulty. Can you please look into this?.

22 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/07/2025

The panoramic sunroof on my 2020 Toyota Camry xse failed to close on two separate occasions. The most recent incident occurred about three months ago. After opening the sunroof, the glass panel would not close, leaving the vehicle fully exposed during heavy rain. I had to cover the opening with plastic and tape while standing in the rain, which caused water to enter the vehicle and led to illness from exposure. This failure poses safety risks, including: driver distraction if the failure occurs while driving. Possible water damage to electrical components, potentially affecting vehicle operation. Reduced visibility in heavy rain. Security risks if the vehicle cannot be secured. Online research and discussions with other owners revealed that this problem appears to be relatively common with Toyota Camry models equipped with a panoramic roof. My initial repair estimate was approximately $12,000, which is unreasonable given the vehicle’s value. I ultimately had the sunroof permanently sealed shut at my own expense. I have video evidence and documentation from both incidents, including an earlier occurrence on August 29, 2020, which was reported to a Toyota dealer but dismissed at the time. I believe this should be investigated as a potential recall.

23 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Windshield wiper stopped working while I was driving in the middle of a storm. Fortunately, I was able to pull onto a side street and not have an accident.

24 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/02/2025

Wife was driving back home on I-280 around 60-65 mph back home when suddenly the back sunroof glass section pop and she started hearing small objects dragging. As soon as she was available to pull over to check it, she realize the whole back glass of the sunroof was cracked. She tried calling Toyota sunnyvale to report it and best they could help her with was to make a claim with the insurance and pay the deductible of $500 because they saying this was from an “external influence”. They gave us a “rental vehicle” while their inspectors engineers called for non-manufactured issue when; - how will you get hit on the sunroof while driving at 60-65 mph on the freeway? - how is it possible that a small size object could shatter a whole tempered glass and also, outline crack all around instead of a center hit like they mentioned. - if there was an external object hitting the sunroof why isn’t any internal damage if it’s right above the sunroof motor. If it was something that big to shatter a whole tempered glass section wouldn’t it damage the motor as is right on the center of the shatter too?. Last but not least, we were “handle” a rental car while they were “inspecting” the vehicle until next coming Monday (2 days later as we took it on a Saturday) we were told to take the vehicle and bring it in the next coming Monday but with that level of shatter it would of fall apart more and would of been an issue for the inspection for them to put it on me as a bigger hit whitch they did! and made me pay for the rental days and quote me a $4,700. Oo repair labor for the damage part as they determinate it wasn’t manufacture. No one could give an explanation of how did they determinate it when I have an other Toyota that does! have an external object crack on the wind shield and its minimal! not the whole windshield.

25 Wiper problem of the 2008 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

Issue description: melting dashboard creating driving hazard I am reporting a serious safety hazard involving my 2008 Toyota Camry, which has developed a melting/sticky dashboard condition that significantly affects driver visibility and safety during daylight driving. Nature of the problem: •the dashboard has become soft, shiny, and sticky to the touch, especially in warmer temperatures. •the melting material creates a high-gloss surface, which leads to excessive glare on the windshield. •this reflection severely impairs forward visibility, especially under sunlight or direct light conditions, such as during midday driving or on sunny days. •the dashboard’s condition is progressively worsening, becoming a constant distraction and hazard when driving. •the condition also poses potential chemical exposure risks, as the degraded dashboard material emits a strong odor and residue. Safety concerns: •visual impairment due to reflection: the dashboard acts like a mirror, reflecting sunlight directly into the driver’s line of sight. •increased accident risk: the glare limits the driver’s ability to clearly see pedestrians, other vehicles, traffic signals, and road signs. •heat-related degradation: the softening dashboard may also interfere with airbag deployment zones or deteriorate structural safety components over time. Request for action: I respectfully request the following: 1. That this issue be formally investigated as a safety defect by the relevant vehicle safety authority. 2. That Toyota issue a recall or safety repair program for affected vehicles, if not already done. 3. That an evaluation be conducted to determine if the airbag function is compromised by the dashboard’s current state. Previous attempts to resolve: I have attempted to contact Toyota customer service and/or local dealerships, but have not received a resolution to date. The problem persists and continues to pose a daily driving hazard.

26 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 03/07/2025

The right side of my windshield has significant ripples and distortions on the right side. It isn't just on the edge where it curves, but 6 inches to a foot in. I took it to the dealers who saw it. If you look at the two attached pictures, one is of the dealership's garage. In the first picture, the lines on the door are perfectly straight. The second picture is through the windshield and you can see all the undulations. However, the dealership pulled up another car same year make and model, and it had it too. I saw it with my own eyes that it was just as bad as mine. But Toyota's answer was it isn't an issue because its in other cars. My answer is that both/all are defective. It is a major safety issue because I constantly see movement that isn't there that is caused by a defective windshield.

27 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 12/20/2024

I just bought 2025 Camry se in late November 2024. When it was raining wind shield was very poor visibility with the wipers is on. Especially, driver's side wiper screeching or chattering, streaking. Visibility is worse at rainy night with opposite traffic head light. I couldn't see clear enough and I was scared that I might get into accident. I took it to dealer and stated problem and they didn't fix the problem. So, I changed to new wipers but still the same problem. Even daytime, wiper don't' give clear wipe. I don't know what to do if raining again. I think it's the wiper arms is defected.

28 Wiper problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 11/25/2024

The car was parked in a garage overnight and the windshield cracked without any reason. The temperature was 71 degrees without rain. The car was purchased 10 days prior to the incident and had no previous rock damage or known defects.

29 Wiper problem of the 2007 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 10/07/2024

Because of the sticky dash’s glare on the driver side windshield, I could not see the car ahead of me at all. I almost hit a car that was in front of me not because he had braked because we were both still in motion but the glare was directly in my line of vision. I just happened to put my hand up over the glare and saw there was actually a silver car in front of me and I was way to close to it. No accident occurred but it almost did and certainly could have injured me and/or my passengers. This has to be fixed! that scared me to death! I truly had no idea there was a car in front of me as I could not see it from the dash’s glare off the windshield.

31 Wiper problem of the 2008 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/30/2024

I am experiencing significant glaring on my windshield as a result of my melting dashboard reflecting on the windshield. This problem is making my car unsafe to drive. The glare becomes extremely intense with rain and night driving. After researching this issue today, apparently Toyota is well aware of this safety issue but did not notify me about a program to replace my dashboard. I am only becoming aware today that there was a program to fix this issue. I understand this same problem has been reported by many other Toyota Camry owners. I contacted Toyota today to report my concerns and requested assistance to remedy this safety problem. The Toyota rep. Recommended I file a complaint here with njtsa. Also Toyota will see if they can arrange for me to bring my car in to a Toyota dealer for an inspection.

32 Wiper problem of the 2009 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/23/2024

Dash board has become sticky due to the adhesive seeping out; causes major visual impairments while driving due to the reflection of the sun off of the sticky/disgusting/shiny dashboard.

33 Wiper problem of the 2007 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/22/2024

Vehicles dash board is melting. Produces a high shine effect that reflects sunlight into the front glass, effectively blinding the driver. Toyota has acknowledged this in a “warranty enhancement program” but will no longer repair the dashboard as the recall has “expired”. The warranty program had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle. Engine burns oil due to piston assembly manufacturing errors. Toyota has acknowledged this in t-sb-0158-14 but will no longer repair the engine as the recall has “expired”. The recall had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle.

34 Wiper problem of the 2018 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/21/2024

I live in florida. We get a lot of rain. My Toyota Camry 2018 is unsafe and actualy dangerous to drive in the rain as the wiper speed, even on high, is too slow. Most of the time I have to pull over on the sideof the road and hope that no one crashes into me. This iis extremely dangerous. The dealers are all aware of the problem. Why hasnt there been a re-call to fix this? thank-you.
