I own a 2011 Toyota Camry. The dashboard has begun to melt and is causing potential glare issues, making the windshield turn into a mirror. Toyota is aware of the issue, and offered to replace the part through a special service campaign, once in 2018 and in 2021, however, they did not send the notice to the correct address - which we confirmed with them was an outdated address. Since we just began having the problem with the vehicle, we contacted Toyota, however they are stating that they are no longer offering the repairs and that we will have to pay nearly $3000 to fix it ourselves, more than the car's trade in value.

The sun visor on the driver side fell down while I was driving, it would not stay up on it's own, almost hit the car in front of me when they stop, which I couldn't see until I had push the sun visor out of the way. This is a major safely problem that I called Toyota about but they said they have not issued a recall on this problem even though alot of other owners are having the same problem.

The drivers side visor will not stay up. Very dangerous. My husband is taller and it affects his range ov vision and plus it is annoying. Looked online and see that there have been problems with the visors. I am taking it to a dealer to see if its covered under my warranty, if not, I will contact Toyota directly to correct this very dangerous situation.

On the way to work driving on the highway, the drivers side sun visor flopped down and made me jump and hit my forehead on it. Now it will not go back in to place, just flops around. Seems something inside split apart on the top by the arm holding it. Startled me and it was a pain all the way in. Had to hold it up to be able to see good. I then called my local dealer (after reading info online) to see if it was covered under the extended warranty I read about and he laughed. Never offered to check, just said he was not surprised and that I was not alone and that everyone out there has a broken one. I then called Toyota and was informed that my car was not included in extension. They were very nice but could not answer why only some were and some weren't even though they had the same ongoing problems. Guess those of us not covered will have to fix at our own expense even though it is a known problem and some cars made the same year are covered. Interesting way to do business. . .
I noticed that the driver side mirror is chipping away and the dealer claims that "we" did had to use something on the car that made the mirror chip away and we have not. The car is brand new and this should not happen regardless if we wash the car or not. Now the dealer refuses to accept fix the issue.

The driver side sun visor would no longer stay up. Whatever is holding it up is broken. I've gone on the internet and read many similar accounts.
Driver sun visor broke off. I went to a Toyota dealer to get this fixed the day after it fell and was there for over an 1 hr. The part is on back order and I paid $90. 99 for the part and the part is on back order for 3 to 6 weeks. I called Toyota services and after being on the line for one hour, Toyota will reimburse the part; but not the labor; which will be over $30. 00. The reimbursement will also take several weeks. I looked on youtube and it seems that this is a factory defect that is affecting several Toyota Camry's since 2007; mine is a 2011. I was told since this item is not in a recall I won't be reimbursed completely. Please order them to fix this defect.
The drivers side visor began flapping down, while I was driving along with my family in the car with me. This unfortunately this was not the first time this had occurred as the driver (myself) attempted to adjust it while operating the vehicle, which nearly caused a collision. The visor no longer would stay put at all and needed to pull over on the side of the freeway to remove the visor in order for the vehicle to be considered safe to drive, and I did not want to put myself and others at risk of going into accident while driving under this unsafe condition. This seems to be a flaw by the manufacturer. I am the only driver of this Camry which is in very gently-used condition.
After 95,000 miles of usage the sun visor has decided to come apart and I'm no longer able to use it to block the sun or store it in a safe manner. Every passing day it seems the visor gets lower and lower until I can no longer see the road correctly. I almost have to drive holding the sun visor up. It doesn't feel safe but I don't yet have the funds to replace it. And even if I did replace it, it's only a matter of time before it happens again from what I've been reading.

2013 Toyota Camry. Consumer writes in regards to hvac assembly and ac system issues. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer on 4 separate occasions, for the odor issue coming from the ac and the mildew and fungus growth in the padding and carpet.
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that when the sun would shine on the dashboard material, it would reflect and cause an obstruction to the driver's visibility of the roadway. In addition, the material on the dashboard would become very sticky as if it were melting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the technician did not inspect the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,800 and the current mileage was 37,534. Updated 10/17/13 the consumer stated he noticed the dashboard was very shiny and sticky and there were small holes beginning to appear. As time went on within a week, there were more holes. The holes were an inch long. . . Updated 12/17/13 updated 12/18/cn photos received 12/18/13.
The driver side sun visor fell and blocked my view of the road, since then has done this several times. No cd hold or anything was or has been put on it. Does not stay up with velcro, glue or anything. Is a safety concern and according to many reviews many Camry driver side visors are defective from 2007-2011.

The sun visor fell down on me as I was driving on the freeway. This is dangerous and a cause for concern. I contacted both the Toyota dealership and Toyota customer service, and was informed by both that even though there is an extended warranty for exactly this issue for 2007 Camrys, it only applies to american-made cars. Since my car was made in japan, it is not covered, even though the symptoms are exactly the same and I would fall under the same repair program. This is a dangerous issue and Toyota should fix it.
The driver's side sun visor will not stay up. It keeps flopping down and affects visibility.
The sun visor on the passenger side will no longer stay in place. It now dangles and blocks the view of the driver.
The sunvisor on the driver side falls down blocking the drivers vision. This is a serious safety issue that could lead to the loss of life. This should be a recall. Toyota has recalled some vehicles with this same problem but only ones with a certain VIN number. Mine is not covered and no notice was received from Toyota. The repair of this I am on my own! I should of been contacted by Toyota and the vehicle should be recalled! I wonder how many accidents or near accidents there has been? it is only a matter of time before someone dies!.
My car is 2008 Toyota Camry le 4 cylinder. When I drive this car, the sunvisor not so good condition, loose and difficult fix it. Finally it was broken when I return it normal place. It's could not fit anymore. It was very dangerous situation at that time because I couldn't see due to sunvisor drop.
Driver side sun visor will not stay up because I think the clips broke, I understand that this has happened on many other Toyota Camry cars.
I am only owner of this Toyota, it is garaged or has sun visors in place. I am experiencing the same cracked/cracking dash as others. There is absolutely no reason for this to occur. I too wonder what is going to happen if ever my air bags deploy. The cracking so far is on the passenger side dash. This started either in fall of 2012. I have never owned a car with airbags that had this problem.
