Driver's side visor dangles by the left side arm, impeding visibility. Visor will not stay in normal, upright position nor is it able to be manipulated so it's not in my view.

I pulled the driver side visor down to block the sun and it broke and was just hanging there by some fabric. Had to quickly pull over into the ditch to prevent an accident. No happy that there hasn't been a recall on this since I see from all the blogs that this has been an issue for quite some time.

Driver's sunvisor broke and hung down blocking my vision while driving. I think this is a safety issue that should be addressed.
The driver side sun visor fell off it's clip and obscured my visibility. Understand common problem wiith the Camry.
The sun visor on the driver side will not stay up. This is a driving hazard as it blocks the view of the driver.
The driver's side sun visor broke. The arm that goes into the sun visor came out of the sun visor. It seems that it broke the plastic inside the visor that holds it in place. This caused the visor to keep falling and not stay in place. It created a hazard so I completely removed the visor. The tab on the bar that allows the visor to snap into place has become very stiff to where it is very difficult to rotate around. The stiffness of the arm seems to be what probably broke the plastic.
Both sun visors gave way in my fairly new Camry only after 3-4 years of use. I keep my Toyotas 6 years usually and never had this issue. Visor has always sounded like it was going to break ever since I owned it. Cheap part.
The sun visor for the driver and passenger became loose at no fault to the consumers and it won't stay up. When my car was in warranty the dealer "fix" the problem but it broke again. This is extremely dangerous as it blocks my view because the sun visor keeps propping back down. When I ask the dealer to fix it again, they wanted 120 dollars to fix each sun visor! reading other people complaints, it seems all the model of Camry from 2007- 2011 have the same problems. . . Yet no fix from Toyota. Toyota quality= declining. It seems like Toyota and the dealership is making money off of defects and refusal to commit to quality control to sun visor. Reminds me and others of the "unintentional" acceleration that Toyota refused to acknowledges that led to deaths and injury until the c. E. O of Toyota got questioned by congress. Only then, Toyota acknowledges the problem. In that case the acceleration would become "stuck" causing the car to accelerates. Last car I would buy from Toyota until the problem is fixed free of charges to all customers. Honda, Hyundai, Ford, gm anyone?.
Both of my sun visors have broken on my 2008 Toyota Camry. I have only owned the car for 9 months.
The driver's side sun visor is no longer functioning. It hangs down. I am reporting this because I have read many other reports reported within this website of the same issue. I do not understand why when there are so many affected vehicles, a recall is not done. I will probably just pay to get it fixed, not much choice, but this is a safety issue, and Toyota should be asked to make this repair for affected customers at no cost to the consumer.
The sun visor had been flopping down a bit for the last couple of few weeks, then it just quit gripping the shaft that keeps it in the "non-use' position -I. E. Visor horizontal parallel to roof - so that it was hanging down perpendicular to the roof plane, blocking vision out the front of the car. It has not stayed up since. Research online has proven to me that this is a widespread problem with these model year (and 2007 model year) Camrys and they do represent a driving hazard, particularly if and when they flop down unexpectedly while in heavy, urban traffic and the like.
Driver side sun visor will not stay up. Dealership wants over $200 to repair. Car only has 36,000 miles on it. It is a safety issue and Toyota should repair for free. There is a defect in the device.
While driving our 2009 Toyota Camry se model that my wife drives 95% of the time, I was being annoyed by the driver side visor droping down and obstructing my view, it would not stay fully up, in asking my wife about this she responded it has been that way for a while but is getting worse, and she mentioned the passenger side is very difficult to pull into the down position and then back up, stopped using it because she did not want to break it. I ordered thru the dealer the driver side visor and weeks after I am told it is in back order and not available at this time. I wonder if Toyota is using there available stock for those consumers that take it in for dealer repair/replacement at a cost to the consumer, as I have read in some of the complaints. What am I to do ? any suggestions ? help !!!! I dont want to wait for a accident to happen.

The driver/front sunvisor is defective due to defective mounting brackets. The driver/front visor has not been operated forcefully and defectiveness of part(s) should be replaced by Toyota as Toyota acknowledged this defect through a tech bulletin: t-sb-0284-09 August 21, 2009 sunvisor mount loose for 2007-2010 Camry. Per Toyota dealership, they refused to fix the problem as my vehicle under warranty as my vehicle exceeded the 36k mile warranty. This defect occurred at 30,000 miles however, I never received an official or unofficial notice from Toyota this defect and was not able to request a fix until my vehicle exceeded 36k miles. Also, my vehicle has been serviced at Toyota at 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k, 30k and 36k miles and at no point was I informed of this defect issue. This broken sunvisor is a safety risk and Toyota should fix this defect at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Cpsc# i1290186a. 2007 Toyota Camry. Consumer stated her sun visor has fallen down and will not lock back in place.
Sun visor broke and would not stay up. Obstructs field of vision. This is the third time a visor has broke on this vehicle and searching online I have found that this is a common complaint with this year and model of vehicle. No undue stress was put on the visor. Discussed with the parts department at Toyota and they admitted that it was a common problem.
Driver's side sun visor broke causing visor to drop down and block driver's vision. Solution: bought new visor. Online cost $88.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the driver side visor partially detatched and began to obstruct the view of the driver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the entire visor was removed. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 51,000. The VIN was not available.
The wind buffeting that occurs in this car is unbearable. This causes an unsupportable pressure that you feel in your ears and head. Speaking while one of the rear windows is open is also impossible because our voices will echo.

While adjusting the driver's side sun visor the visor broke and would no longer stay up in either position. It just dangled down and severely restricted the driver's vision. There was no way to temporarily fix the visor to make the car safe for the remainder of the trip, and repair necessitated replacing the entire visor at a cost of $140. This is a known problem with Camrys and the repair cost could deter people from replacing the visor, resulting in a dangerous situation, as visibility is very poor with the visor dangling down in front of the driver.
My drivers side sun visor decide to quit working while I was driving and suddenly cover my visibility. I have to stop on the side on the road and try several time to put it back. Finally I frustrated remove and put it on the passenger seat. Toyota should do better job on that because I was about to be involve into an accident.
Driver's side sun visor broke and is blocking visibility and unsafe in a crash as it will impact my forehead.
Driver's side sun visor is defective and will not stay up. Flops down in a hazardous position obstructing visibility. The car is a 2007 Camry se.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the sun visor broke and would not hold in place. The sun visor constantly dropped downward. The dealer was notified and stated that they could replace the visor at the owner’s expense. There were no recalls or warranties addressing the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The clip in my driver side sun visor failed while on the interstate, creating a big safety issue. The visor would no longer stay up because a defective clip by the hinge failed. Toyota refuses to repair the visor at no cost, even for vehicles under warranty. This should be a recall on those models.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that driving at any speed, the driver side sun visor would fall and block the driver's view. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not available. The current and failure mileages were 30,000.
My driver side sun visor will not stay up. It's blocking my view and when I googled I see tons of Toyota drivers since 2007 complaining about the same issue. From what I'm reading it's only a matter of time before the passenger one goes as well. Unfortunately, the driver actually needs to see the road and this breaking is a huge safety issue.
The drivers side sun visor is drooping & would not go up or down & stay in place. I would have to hold it to drive. I had to remove it for safety.
The driver side visor failed on me when I put it down. This seems to be a common issue with the sun visors. This issue can be a potential hazard as it obstructs my view during normal operation of the vehicle. I have to move the visor to the side in order to have a full view ahead. If the visor is left in front of me then it is hard to see traffic and traffic lights in front of me and can potentially cause an accident. Toyota should replace this part as it can be a potential hazard.
Concerning the driver's side interior sun visor; the plastic housing of the visor separated from metal arm that attaches to the roof of the vehicle (the plastic casing cracked). The visor was dangling from the metal attachment and obstructing my view, hitting my forehead as I would brake or accelerate. Had to pull it off completely to avoid visibility obstruction, distraction from driving, and being stricken on my forehead!.
Driver's side visor has broken and is hanging in the line of vision. This is causing an obstruction of view for the driver whether in the forward facing position or rotated to the left side where it blocks the driver's vision to the left. The visor was not being mishandled when it broke. This is a safety issue as the driver cannot see properly and causes problems when driving and trying to deal with the visor in order to improve visibility of the road. It is my understanding this is a common problem in the 2007 Camry yet Toyota has not issued a recall for the visors. This could potentially cause an accident.
The driver side visor is defective in my opinion which is preventing me to properly see the road. This part cannot rest on the roof but rather it droops down in a slanted angel. The rear doom light is falling apart exposing wirings in the passenger compartment.
The driver side sun visor broke and will not go back up. This inhibits my ability to drive safely especially in bright and low light situations as well as in general because it obstructs my view. Toyota will not fix it unless I pay $150!.
The driver side sun visor dropped down all of sudden and it wouldn't stay up and makes the driving difficult. I pulled the car over and removed the sun visor then continued my journey. It is a manufacturing failure, so I suggest this issue be looked into seriously and recalled if necessary as it has a potential to be fatal if it happens.
