1 Wheel problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

2 Wheel problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

3 Wheel problem of the 2019 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

I have a code on my car that states " malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle or automatic transmission has been detected". The car stalled while crossing hwy 231 in pike county, alabama and left me powerless in oncoming traffic that was moving at 80+ miles per hour. It finally grabbed some power to let me finish crossing but it was a very close call. I had to have the tires replaced, since that time the tire pressure sensors no longer work. Which to me is unbelievable. The cost for that is $360. 00 or probably more from the dealer.

5 Wheel problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 04/24/2025

Urgent safety complaint for my 2025 Toyota Camry se. I feel unsafe driving this car, especially with my child, due to extremely premature and unsafe tire wear found at only 17,309 miles. Key facts: mileage: 17,309. Problem: needed immediate replacement of 4 tires due to severe premature wear. Two tires worn to steel belts, risking tire failure. Faulty wheel bearing also diagnosed. Safety: high risk of tire failure. Unsafe feeling driving car, particularly with child. Maintenance: regular tire rotations performed. Alignment done at ~9,000 miles. This severe wear is unacceptable and unsafe. My 2 prior new Camrys had tires last 45k-60k miles. Expected these tires to last at least another 25,000 miles / 1 year. Finding steel belts at <18k miles was shocking/unexpected. Despite the danger & maintenance history, Toyota dismissed concerns, blaming only the tire maker (bridgestone). Toyota refuses to investigate potential vehicle causes (suspension, alignment specs, wheel bearing link) for this rapid, unsafe wear. Online research shows a pattern: other newer Camry owners report similar premature tire wear, possibly linked to larger factory rims. Extreme low-mileage failure suggests a vehicle safety defect. Urge NHTSA to investigate promptly to determine if a vehicle issue is causing this unsafe tire wear on these models, putting families at risk.

8 Wheel problem of the 2024 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 08/02/2024

Friday, August 2, 2024 – while driving car on [xxx] in portland, or major unknown problem surfaced. Had car towed into dealership, paying a towing fee of $217. 50. Seven hundred nine (709) miles were on odometer. Saturday, August 1, 2024 – telephoned royal moore Toyota and spoke with george stavrakis – every lug nut on all four (4) wheels were loose and only finger tight. Plus three (3) studs on right rear wheel were broken off. New rim would be needed. George stated that because I had my oil changed by walmart that they (walmart) must have loosed all the lug nuts. I had watched walmart service the vehicle the entire time and walmart never touched the lug nuts. Monday, August 5, 2024 – our insurance agent informed me that that national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) had issued a recall (number 23v432000) for 2023 Toyota Camry xse hybrids because of significantly under torquing of the lug nuts. We noted that although my car was a 2024 it was built in 2023. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

9 Wheel problem of the 2024 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 06/20/2024

On June 20th, 2024, my vehicle started making a vibration and roaring sound at 3k miles at speeds as low as 35 mph and gets louder the faster you go. The steering wheel also has a vibration. The noise and vibration get worse when you turn the wheel the left but when returned back to center it stops or is quitter and less vibration. When turning to the right it does not do it at all and will sometimes it does. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times now first time they said OH it just wind noise. Second time they said we found the noise but don't know what the problem is. 3-time service manager rode with me, and he pointed out the sound and I said yes that sound. They then replaced both front wheel bearings. And they told me on pick up that the noise was completely gone. 2 minutes after leaving the noise was still there and even louder. Toyota seems to not able to fix the problem. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressee knowing that it involves the suspension in the front end of the vehicle.

10 Wheel problem of the 2014 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

The vehicle has an issue with the radio the steering wheel controls do not work the touch screen does not work the buttons around the radio does not work there is also an issue with the transmission between 20 mph and 25 mph in extreme shutter happens that cuts off goes away there is no transmission light lit there is no check engine light lit I am completely at a loss to figuring out the repair I do not want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to have it repaired with a mechanic shop I have noticed that with the 2014 Toyota Camry 95% of the vehicles all have the same issue transmission shutter and the electrical issue with the radio this is a very extremely common issue and I wish they would have it recalled and repaired because Toyota Camry 2014 is a very good reliable vehicle only it has issues and it has issues with a lot of the exact same vehicle I have read forum after forum in regards to the radio I cannot repair it I had tried to replace the entire unit and the unit that I had replaced it with is doing the exact same thing I am terrified to open the transmission because nine times out of 10 I will not figure out the issue I could pay thousands and thousands of dollars to have the transmission replaced or repaired but I don't feel like it should be the owners issue or responsibility to repair the vehicle when 90% of the vehicles out here have the exact same issues due to manufacturer issue really hoping they recall this it will give Toyota a better look I have also noticed that no matter how many times I reset the tire pressure sensor monitor and ensure that all tires have the correct amount of air that the tire light will not go off and will not go away these issues have been around for a very long time since I've had the vehicle and no matter the amount of time and amount of money I spend putting into the vehicle for parts the issues will not go away.

16 Wheel problem of the 2014 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 04/21/2022

When my car takes off it hesitate to move and when it does it take off. Something in the tires pop when you drive.

17 Wheel problem of the 2012 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 04/07/2022

When I first purchased the car I unlocked the lever to adjust my steering wheel and from that moment further my car never drove the same. If I do not play with the lever for the tilt steering and move steering wheel up and down while driving my car does not drive normal. The tires either feel like they were laying down flat when making a turn either way to the left or the right and the car seemed to be at a different position than my steering wheel was. I changed my lower control arms, inner tire rods(front), outer tire rods(front),this is all since January of 2022. I contacted the dealership immediately when I began noticing the problem and they told me nothing was wrong with the car and they couldn't not help me. Now when I am driving it sounds like a belt shifted on a tire but hasn't or something is rubbing. My steering wheel shakes when braking, and my steering wheel is really tight. If I put my traction control on off and drive it somewhat drives better but the rubbing sounds from the front still appears. If I play with the tilt lever and move steering wheel in and out or up and down I can feel the transmission almost like releasing from straining but never feels as if it is straining if that makes since. The lever for tilt steering is sometimes really loose like it is about to fall off but other times it is so tight that I am afraid it will snap if I lock it back. No one seems to understand what is the issue at the mechanic shops I brought it too. And I am so scared of driving it that I have parked it since August because I am afraid for my safety and my childrens safety. I have heard and read about other Camrys this year model having similar issues. One time my abs light and traction lights came on during my drive and then went off moments later. If I dont play with the lever and tilt steering during a drive, the steering wheel while shake, car wobbles and sounds like mud tires are on it, and the car glides all over the road and turns make as if tires flat.

18 Wheel problem of the 2021 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 10/23/2021

20 Wheel problem of the 2018 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 04/15/2021

During the summer months when temperatures were extreme, my car suddenly had that infamous orange triangle light up and a warning about the tire pressure. I had to avoid taking the freeway home and instead had to take a 30-minute long trek home along the streets. When I went to inspect my tires I saw several large bulges along the sides of multiple tires, especially the front two tires. I immediately took them to the nearest reputable tire shop and they told me that most likely a nail may have caused the issue, but they did not find a single nail nor any holes in the tire that may have been leaking out air. Repair process was difficult as the first tire shop I went to did not carry the tires my car comes with (apparently they are very hard to come across where I live) but offered to replace all tires with used ones for $70 and strongly recommended I get new ones as soon as possible. The second shop told me that I was lucky to spot the issue quickly and seek repair or else the car tires would have exploded while in motion. Whatever manufacturer stock tires Toyota is using should not even be approved at all. Why not use strong, sturdy tires from a reputable brand instead of settling for cheap ones? since replacing the tires I have had no issues whatsoever.

23 Wheel problem of the 2008 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 12/22/2020

Car lurches forward after touching an ice patch and scarily wants to speed ahead. Even in my driveway, it suddenly begins to speed forward or backward when it merely touches a sheet of ice. This is extremely dangerous in areas where there are pedestrians because the car suddenly seems out of control. My solution is to go as slowly as possible until I am able to bring the car to a dealer on a nonicy day.

As soon as I drove this car off the lot, the "tire balance" light came on. The tires were low so I put air in them and the light is still on. The front bumper skirt scrapes on every dip in the road it seems, sounding horrible. 33 Wheel problem of the 2018 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 02/20/2020

Three separate times in less than 20,000 miles, there was a bubble on the side of our tire which had to be replaced!!!! in 50 plus years of driving, we never had a bubble on the side of a tire, which needed each time to be replaced lest we have a blowout. The service manager during one of our replacements told us that the problem was caused by Toyota providing inadequate protection for the wheels. This is a dangerous situation which will lead to blowouts and deaths unless the NHTSA takes immediate action. The service manager, speaking confidentially. Told us that Toyota will fight this rather than spend $1200. Per tire casing to do the right thing. You must act before deaths occur from blowouts. Also, Toyota should reimburse for all tire bubbling!!.

34 Wheel problem of the 2011 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

I was pulling out of the parking lot at bank of America in lithonia, GA and when I put the car in reverse, it accelerated and I couldn't stop it until it hit a light pole located behind the car. It was a loud impact but thank god my husband and I were not injured nor did we injure another person or their vehicle. It was only the grace of god that spared our lives because it was at 9:00 a. M. In the morning and a lot of people were coming in and out of the bank. I have had other episodes of acceleration which I reported to Toyota in 2012 when I had the first accident which cost 12,000 in repairs. They inspected the vehicle at that time and stated that they couldn't find anything wrong. I did experience occasional episodes of acceleration after that inspection but no accidents until February 1, 2020. I purchased the car in 2012.

35 Wheel problem of the 2011 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 11/02/2019

I recently had a flat tire after hitting something laying on a bridge and went to place my spare tire on my vehicle, and could not remove the lug nuts. Brought the car to an automotive shop and they could also not remove the lug nuts and said they were swollen very bad and none of their tools fit. Overall the lug nuts were swollen and needed to be replaced because they were swollen. This is very dangerous for driver safety causing drivers to drive on flat tires until reaching a place they can put air into their tires. Also, the fact that automotive shops can not take off the lug nuts either means costly repairs for the driver.
