Since the recalls have came out for the Celica oil issues my wife has been trying to get a solution from Toyota. Toyota claims that her car is not part of the issue however TSB eg 6020 her car is a part of the issue. I also want to point out that there is no difference of the cars that were recalled and hers they all have the same engine same parts. So bottom line she should of been taking car of by Toyota and the engine replaced. She now has a car that is about to catch on fire and not able to drive and for years she has been trying to get answers and pushed away. We are asking that you look into the parts of the engines that were recalled and her parts. You will see there all the same. She paid 22,000 for this car and has had nothing but trouble. Im just glad the car did not catch fire while she was driving.

I was driving in heavy traffic at a speed of 15 to 20 miles per hour when I heard a sound as if a chain was dragging on the ground. I then realized that my car had shutdown, I pushed the car off the roadway to the shoulder and opened the hood to see a hole in my engine and broken parts and oil strewn in the engine compartment. The motor failed at 60489 miles for no apparent reason. I called the dealer from where the car was purchased and they were unwilling to service the car. I then found another dealer to take the car in for service after having the car in their shop for four days they call me to come and pick up the car without completing the needed repairs.
Problems with 2000 Toyota Celica's engine. The engine had begun to knock and was taken to the nearest Toyota dealer. Toyota did not agree to pay for the engine because they claim the vehicle was running low of oil. The consumer request compensation for the inconvenience.
I had crankshaft and bearings replaced in September due to failure, which I have seen many other people have similar problem. I was cruising at 55-60 mph on highway in 5th gear when I heard a loud pop, and the engine began to rattle, and then suddenly died. I had vehicle towed to dealership, and had to call dealership to ask about vehicle, I was told it was because I drove the vehicle too hard and that I would have to pay for the repairs.
Engine consumes oil & paint chips very easily (spectra blue).
