1 Power Train problem of the 2001 Toyota Celica

Failure Date: 07/27/2010

I purchased my Celica new in 2001. This year I had a new clutch and transmission put in. In the past 6 months I noticed that I was putting oil in on a regular basis, no leaks and no smoke form the exhaust. I have 128 thousand miles on the car. I have changed the oil on schedule. I contacted Toyota in jacksonville and was told I somehow must have abused the motor or not changed the oil regularly. Long story short, now I am looking for a replacement motor and Toyota wants almost $6000. 00. I have shopped around and the cheapest way to go would be a used motor. If I had not already put in a new transmission and clutch this car would be in the junkyard. After reading all the complaints associated with this motor I would be a fool to put in another motor to have it do the same thing in 50,000 miles. That being said ,Toyota should address this and fix this issue for all Celica owners.

2 Power Train problem of the 2000 Toyota Celica

Failure Date: 06/23/2010

This vehicle has ( according to all sources available ) burned oil from the time it left the plant brand new, most 2000 to 2002 Toyota Celica gt's have this issue as the rings were bad. Toyota has never produced a recall for this issue and it has effected thousands of vehicles. Toyota did change the rings out for the 2003 models and newer, so they did know the problem existed. This has caused many Celica's to experience blown motors.

3 Power Train problem of the 2001 Toyota Celica

Excessive oil consumption, 1. 5 quart of oil every 500 miles, started at 96,000 miles, at 114,000 miles now.

4 Power Train problem of the 2002 Toyota Celica

Failure Date: 02/15/2003

I was driving my 2002 Toyota Celica and I went to shift into third gear and missed and went into first gear and the car engine blew up. I thought this was odd because their was no saftey lock preventing me to go into first gear I simply just put it right in and my car engine blew right up. I need help because I have payment on a brand new car with 3500 miles on it and it is sitting in the shop and Toyota is refusing to even touch it.
