I took my car for a airbag recall. My airbag light was on prior to recall. I really don't know if this fixed, because light is still on. From what I heard my airbag won't even work with the light being on . Call someone on Toyota and the said it would an extra charge to have it diagnosed. Shouldn't the problem have been fix when I took it for the recall because of a defective airbag.

I was driving about 55 mph and a car was cutting into my lane and I swerved and blew my horn and then my airbag light came on, stayed on and is still on. Went to the dealer today and they said the "technician found diagnostic trouble code b1181 open circuit in driver's side squib and recommend replacing the spiral cable" (a part associated with the airbags) and as long as the airbag light was on, I had no airbag protection. The estimate to fix is very expensive.

I have received a recall for airbags, and I took the car to be checked on 12/14/14 to reinhardt motors, inc. 720 east blvd, montgomery al 36117, and they told me my VIN number was not affected. I received another letter, and called them to report it, and they told me it is not an actual recall unless Toyota sends me a letter saying it definitely involves my car. They want to charge me $776. 00 to replace the sensor. If the sensor is bad, then it should be on the recall list. The airbag light came on in my car about 5 months ago. What should I do now? thank you sherry talbott.
Our Toyota Corolla has 2 safety recalls for the air bag system. One recall has been done but the other one we have to wait for the parts. After one recall was done the dealership found the airbag light on showing a code b1811 for spiral cable. I was told that part is not covered in the recall. They also told me that means the driver airbag is deactivated. I have found that there is a recall for this spiral cable with other Corolla's but not for 2003. Obviously there are problems with the airbag systems so can NHTSA please look into this. This vehicle is my 17 year olds car and I am very concerned about his safety. Thank you.
On the day of September 04/2014 I was driving my Toyota Corolla 2003 to go work and after few minutes of driving car was start shaking too much and stopped at middle of the street. I tried to start the engine again but it was good with no problem but I found at the dash board light was showing air bags light. On September 12/2014 I went to local Toyota dealer to inspect the problem but they found air bags spiral cable is damage , they also notify me faulty fuel system. It is very much cost effective for me to repair.
Ongoing air bag light on after 4 recall visits to the service department, from 6-7-2014. I have went back to the dealership on every recall, in fact at one call recall they said I needed a clock spring that shorted out. I have my Toyota Corolla 2003 air bag light on for 3 months now, there is no recall activated or the bottom line there is no letter or a message to inform me that my car has to be fixed. I drive 150 miles a day and the risk is higher since the air back are not functional. Why do we have to wait for a crash and death occurs then push for activation for recall. On your website you suggested to call Toyota service, I did , I have to pay for the fix. Not sure where to go at this point. **** the incident date above is the date that the airbag light turned on.

I received a recall on my airbags a few months back. I took it to dealership last week and was told that there were two parts recalled. The dealership fixed those but then told me that my airbag light will stay on because I also need a new spiral cord which is not recalled. They wanted $500. 00 bucks! after reading multiple complaints for the same thing, I am outraged that people have been hurt over this issue. The airbag either won't go off when needed, or it can deploy at any given moment. As you can imagine, I am terrified to drive my car knowing that it could go off at any moment. I feel like its a ticking time bomb. I have always raved about Toyota and what great cars they have and that I would never drive anything else. After calling the customer care line, I soon realized that they don't care at all. The rep was rude, and basically said that there was nothing she could do. This is a safety issue and can hurt people! I will never purchase another Toyota again. . And I have informed my family that if I die in an accident from this issue, that they go full force after Toyota. They don't care for the owners well being. I am not the first to complain about this and won't be the last. Lets pray nothing happens to me or anyone else.

Toyota recalled the vehicle to replace a defective harness on air bag system. We brought the vehicle in to a Toyota dealership to have this work done. Less than four weeks later, the air bag light starting staying on all the time indicating that the air bag is disabled; this condition makes the car dangerous to drive. We brought the vehicle back to the dealership. We were told that we would have to pay approximately $550 to replace the spiral cable. Prior to having the recall work done, there was never any problem with the airbag or the airbag lights. The spiral cable issue is a safety issue and should be dealt with by Toyota at least under circumstances when it is related to the other airbag recalls.
Air bags light swiched on the dashboard. Never turns off.
