The air bag light came on in my car. I brought it to the dealership where they identified the problem as the pls p&a center airbag sensor and explained that the malfunction was the same as in other cars that had been recalled. Because it was the same malfunction, I believe that mine and other similar vehicles should be covered by the recall to prevent harm to other drivers.
Vehicle's check air bag light came on. Toyota dealer says the spiral cable has failed and must be replaced. Toyota has issued a voluntary recall for other models for same issue, but not for 2006 Corolla. No accident or damage to vehicle. Vehicle is in FL and dealer verbally stated this is a common problem in hot climate. Vehicle air bag is inoperable.
The airbag light is on on the dashboard.
Air bag light came on and would not go off. Had to have the spiral cable replaced. It was not part of a recall on this particular vehicle. Note: it should have been recalled and replaced by Toyota.

Takata recall- the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the airbag recall. At the time the airbag light was on constantly while the car was being driven. I advised the dealer/repair that the airbag light was on and that we had received notice of the recall. The airbag was repaired/replaced. Several days later the airbag light came back on and stayed on, therefore I contacted the dealer. They advised me to bring the car back to the dealer. We have now taken it back to the same dealer and now they say it cost $110 for the assessment and $550 for the spiral cable. I feel that this issue should have been included in the airbag recall and repaired at the time the recalled part was repaired. When I called Toyota customer service today to ask about the recalled air bag they made me feel as if we were in the wrong because we did not take it back immediately and that these were two separate issues. We took the car back at our earliest convenience and were shocked at the cost of repairs and that it is not covered by the recall and was not corrected when the recall repair was performed. In addition, other vehicles have recalled this part such as Dodge, Volkswagen, Hyundai, kia, and just this year Jeep issued a recall on the same part. I have included these document in this complaint. I feel that this part should be looked at to ensure the safety of all those driving a Toyota.
Went to renew safety inspection for the state of hawai'I, and they failed me for having the air bag light on. As it happens, there is a recall for the side airbag on "select Toyota models". Although, they didn't apply it to my car. Either that, or the technician, who took care of it before I owned it, didn't actually fix the issue, and just signed off on it. I'm still guessing that it never got addressed, because Toyota hasn't issued a recall notice for my VIN. The local servco Toyota shop will not fix the issue for free, if there is no open recall or I don't have the notice in my hand. In other words, I will be illegal to drive, in two days.
Cpsc: 2006 Toyota Corolla: consumer stated the vehicle side aribag indicator light caused a problem in the vehicle. Instead of correcting the issue, the passenger side connector was repaired.
Takata recall. I received a recall on my passenger side airbag back in June of 2026. I went to my local dealership on june30, 2016 and had it fixed for free a week later my airbag light came on or came on so I took it back to the dealership and they said that that had nothing to do with the passenger side airbag it was the driver side airbag now that needed to be fixed and since it wasn't recalled they were not going to fix it I did not have the money to fix it so I never got it fixed.

Was driving when airbag light on dash came on, have checked fuses, cleaned all electrical leads and it remains on, been on six months now. Airbag recall fixed today, told dealer to look at light. Once fixed dealer said light still on because the steering spring coil in the steering column has cut something that turns the airbag light on, cost to fix $500. I said let the ligt stay on then, he said it could affect airbag, it might not deploy.

The air bag lights come on and off for front passenger side and the beeping won't stop unless I pull the seatbelt out and latch it in place and then the passenger air bag says "airbag off"???? please advise. Thank you. Even if someone is sitting and belted in the front passenger seat, the airbag indicator says off.
Car was rear ended at stop light, air bag lights came on, bags did not deploy, lights stay on. The 2005 model had an air bag recall, the 2006 did not, we believe Toyota should check this out under this recall at their expense.
Had passenger airbag replaced via the first recall at the local Toyota dealer (I-10 Toyota in indio). When the car was returned to me, the airbag light was on. I brought it to the attention of the repair person and I was told the light was for a problem with the other airbag and I would have to spend $150 to get it fixed. Scam! I did not get it fixed so now I'm driving around with the airbag light on, not knowing if or when it will explode. This should be takata's expense, not mine.
