Takata recall: I have 2006 Toyota carola. Toyota replaced inflator which was on recall. I now have airbag light on. Toyota ran test on car ,they tell me it is a sinsor but I will have to replace it myself. The news reports are lexis and several others are on recall for bad airbag sensors. Light just came on and is sometimes intermittent.
Nhtsa recall number: 15v285 please be advised that jack taylor's alexandria Toyota, located on 750 jefferson davis hwy, alexandria, va 22305, has failed to replace and remedy the front passenger air bag inflators for my 2006 Toyota Corolla and misled me regarding the availability of said part associated with Toyota's safety recall. The first initial appointment made on November 3, 2016 was scheduled for November 11, 2016. After waiting six hours at the dealership, I was informed that the dealership did not have the parts for my vehicle. Consequently, I was advised by service consultant gerald gerdes (hereafter jerry) that the part would arrive at jack taylor's in roughly estimated four to six weeks. (see attachment titled e-mail appointment confirmation 1). Thereafter, I contacted jack taylor's via phone on December 21, 2016 to check the status of said part's arrival. As such, I was informed that said part had indeed arrived at jack taylor's whereby the Toyota representative advised to schedule an appointment, and thus I scheduled my second appointment on December 23, 2016 for 1:00 pm. (see attachment titled e-mail appointment confirmation 2). Notwithstanding, jerry contacted me via phone and informed me about three and a half hours later (approximately 4:43 pm) during the December 23rd appointment that the dealership was unable to locate the part. Jerry also advised me that they would attempt their best efforts to locate the part but that was to no avail. Therefore, after two months and spending eleven hours under the impression that the front passenger air bag inflators were being replaced, my vehicle is still without the necessary replacement for the recall. This is especially concerning because I travel from washington, d. C. To new york city on a frequent basis. There must be some accountability for lack of good-faith and dishonesty here.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the air bag inflator was faulty. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 136,000.

Takata airbag inflators, engine module. Cannot get Toyota dealer to replace. Have waited four weeks.
Takata recall: unable to have the car repaired, related to the whole airbag assembly has to be replaced, due to no barcode on airbag inflator. The parts have been on back order for 4 months, and I received a card in the mail stating the vehicle is unsafe to drive. What actions do I need to take in order to have a safe vehicle to drive.
Toyota issued a recall for my vehicle for the air bag inflator on June 16, 2015, and recommended that I not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. I have since had to wait nearly an entire year before the parts for the recall were available in my area; I was only notified in may of 2016 that the parts are available in my area. In other words, I was supposed to avoid having a passenger in my front seat for almost a whole year. This by far exceeds a reasonable timeframe for repair, and I hope that there will be repercussions for this kind of failure.
I received a safety recall (interim notice) from Toyota in August 2015 and have not had the front passenger airbag inflator recall replaced yet. This is not a timely manner where I should not have a passenger in the passenger seat for safety reasons and it is taking a long time for this to be replaced. I would like to have an adult passenger sit in the front instead of in the back with two car seats. I made a call to Toyota on October 19, 2015 to see when this issue will be resolved and the person on the phone said they are still looking into it and do not have a time frame. I would like to know if there is something I can do so that I may take another passenger comfortably in my vehicle as soon as possible.

Takata recall for Toyota air bag inflators from June 2015 for a Toyota Corolla 2006. I have now waited 6 months for this recall part: calling Toyota one time and checking online 2- 3 times over the last 6 months for recall information. I still have no information on the status of the part or the repair, and I have to have any passenger ride in the back seat per Toyota's safety recall notice. My air bag passenger light has no status whether on or off when the vehicle is on, stationary or in motion, and "airbag" is just lit up. The air bag light use to say "airbag on" when a passenger or a heavy object was in the passenger seat and "airbag off" when there was no passenger or heavy object. The light on now just says "airbag" for about the last four months, as of September. I believe temperature changes and humidity in the car has caused this issue first, in either the car's electrical system and / or fuse area that controls the entire airbag. Then a malfunction of the air bag notification lights may happen, in addition to the air bag inflators not working properly. This may happen with the notification lights etc since the whole airbag part is not waterproof or an additional part was not waterproofed during manufacturing. Other than that- unknown.
I received notice that my car was included in the front passenger airbag inflator module recall in late August. It states that parts are being "prepared for my location" and they will "send another notification once parts are available". It also recommends that until it can be fixed, I shouldn't have any front seat passengers. After two months, this is getting ridiculous. It is impacting my ability to hang out with friends, or drive my husband around. Oh, unless I want them to ride in the backseat, where I look like an uber driver. Not cool. I need to know when parts will be available to fix my car, and I need to know that it will be soon. As in, not another two months! I am extremely upset that it has taken this long, and it is such a dangerous recall, yet nothing is being done about it. Thank you.
Takata recall I received an undated letter from Toyota on August 25, 2015. I have not received any communication from Toyota regarding the replacement of the passenger air bag inflator. I have not been able to use the passenger seat since August 2015.
Takata recall-reason for my complaint-I received the safety recall notice in August of 2014 stating that Toyota was currently preparing parts for my location and would send another notification once sufficient parts were produced and the remedy could be performed. I never received that second notification and it wasn't until I called my local Toyota dealer in January of 2015 that I was informed they were replacing the defective inflators. I feel Toyota dropped the ball in their follow up procedures concerning the safety recall involving the takata inflators. Having to wait 5 months before this was corrected was totally unreasonable and was due to lack of communication on the part of Toyota.
Tamara inflators. I received a letter describing the air bag issue on 8/15/15. Today's date is 12/18/15. No one has been allowed to sit in the passenger seat since the initial notice. Moreover I am worried that if the bag deploys it may cause the driver to panic and be in an accident. The driver is my college age son who wants his friends to accompany him. We have been beset with this danger for too long. The Toyota company is no help at all.
Received a safety recall notice (Aug'15) for the front passenger air bag inflator which in the event of a rupture (air bag deployment), metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death. Since this was just a notice and not a request to fix the safety recall, I have waited over a month and have yet to receive any additional information. When I called my local Toyota dealership today (9/9/15), they too have not heard about any updates to repairing the car. Due to the serious nature of this recall and huge inconvenience of not allowing anyone to sit in the passenger seat of an economy car, I wanted to file this complaint. I believe this is way too long to not hear anything from Toyota about a repair.
I received a safety recall notice in regards to my 2006 Toyota Corolla front passenger air bag inflator module. In response to the notice, I called the recommended Toyota dealer for st petersburg FL at 8501 us hwy 19 n, pinellas park FL 33781 on July 28, and was told that it would take two weeks to have the part in and that I would receive a call from them to schedule a repair. More than two weeks has passed and I have yet to receive a call from them. Today, August 14, I called to follow-up and they told me it will take another two weeks, a month, or maybe longer. The first time I called they did not collect my VIN number, and this time they asked for the VIN and said that they can only take action with a VIN, leading me to believe that my first call was not even captured. I do not feel safe driving my car and would like to see some action taken to have the part available and my vehicle repaired.
I contacted headquarters Toyota in miami lakes, florida, approximately 3 weeks ago, regarding the front passenger airbag inflator module. I was informed that the item had to be ordered, and could take 6-8 weeks, or longer, before the part is available. Personally, I feel that , the time period given is somewhat unreasonable. Consequently, this is my formal complaint.
I received a letter from Toyota stating this is a urgent recall. This is a safety recall notice. Front passenger bag inflators. They strongly recommend we have this remedy performed immediately. I contacted my local dealer 7/20/2015 at 11:20am via phone. He said they were unaware and they noted he ordered the parts and unsure when they will be in but would contact me. I just want a record of this in case something happens and they are aware.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v285000(air bags); however, the recall was not repaired. The contact did not want the new takata air bag inflator exchanged with the defective one. The contact had no faith in takata's manufacturing. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Nhtsa recall number: 15v285 air bag inflator recall - the interim recall has been provided more than six months ago. There has been no communications on this since and there is no indication as to when the repairs will be started or completed. The interim recall suggests to not have any passengers. That is absolutely a ridiculous proposition for people that do not have any other choice - unless Toyota is willing to provide rentals of the same caliber car without this defect so that families can travel in peace. The suggestion to not have the passenger there is flawed given that if there will be metal shards in case of an accident those shards could also effect the driver as well as anyone sitting in the back of the vehicle. This deems the entire vehicle non-operable. I was assuming that initially the issue would be resolved expediently, but to my horror that is not the case. It is disturbing that there is not more demanded out of Toyota.
Takata recall. I received an undated letter from Toyota in 2015 about the recall of the front passenger airbag inflators. It has been many months now and I have not heard back from Toyota.
I took my car on may 15, 2015 to correct the air bags recall. The Toyota dealer was not able to repair the recall because the parts in the airbag lack bar code (inflator module openned techline case). After 3 months (today 8/14/2015), they have not corrected my airbag because that part is backorder. The Toyota dealer does not know when they will receive the part. Then, it is unknown when my car can be safe.
Received recall notice for air bag inflator several months ago. Parts for repair still not available. This is totally unacceptable. Driving in unsafe vehicle and being told not to have front seat passengers for months on end is ridiculous. Placed call to local dealer on 11/10/15 and was told that there is no estimate for when the parts will be available for repair. I will never purchase another Toyota product. Toyota seems to be putting profit above consumer safety. Disgusting.
