1 Alternator/generator/regulator problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2016

1. Weather stripping will not stay on driver door 2. Cd player of radio system was throwing out the 6 cd's as driving- replaced stereo. 3. Under 70,000 miles- cv joint went out - replaced. Prior to replacement loud clunking sounds and steering difficult- other owners same issues I am reading. Needs recalled 4. Appx 77. 000 miles no warning alternator went out and was extremely hot and smelly-replaced. 5. Appx 78,000 miles between 25-35 mph transmission keeps slipping. I was driving down a street and once on interstate it hit the other gear hard/clunked- Toyota dealer called Toyota and they said replace transmission. Currently in the shop. Called Toyota and filed a case- they respectively understand my concern, however, they did not seem concerned of the safety hazard of this issue and probability of this issue causing a death. I have friend same issue and I have read about this same issue on the internet. There needs to be a recall. Luckily it did not go out on me driving on the interstate going 70mpg. Scared of the vehicle and distrust competency of Toyota. Are they unwilling to admit the transmission problem is a safety issue? needs recalled or investigated please help the consumer. I am worried about others safety.

2 Alternator/generator/regulator problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2013

Prematurely failing: struts (repaired summer of 2013), water pump (repaired 10/15/13), brakes (repaired 10/15/13), and alternator (yet to be repaired).

3 Alternator/generator/regulator problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2013

After starting the engine and driving approximately 100 feet, the dashboard lights: abs, anti skid symbol, battery and oil lamp appeared. Lost power steering, windshield wipers ceased, it was raining heavily. Drove approximately 6 miles to home. The next morning, car started without any issues, drove approximately 100 feet, the same lights appeared and power steering again ceased. Able to drive approximately 5 miles to work. Made an appointment with dealership for after work. Car immediately started with the above mentioned lights appearing again and without power steering. Drove approximately 2 miles, all power in car stopped, and car immediately stopped. Was unable to restart car, car was towed to dealership, where the service member stated the car needed a new alternator. When asked why this would occur with only 25000 miles, the service department was unable to give me a response. The alternator was costly. I am the original owner, purchased this car in July, 2009. Service my car regularly as suggested in manual at a Toyota dealership. I am disappointed with needing such a costly repair as I have never experienced this in the past with other makes of cars. All of which I have owned for 8 to 10 years each.
