My car had issues completely shutting down on me while I was driving which was very dangerous my abs light and steering light would come on each time it shuts down and I wasn’t able to use my power locks lights I couldn’t move it out of park or nothing those were the only two lights the was still able to start up just couldn’t move or use any buttons my keypad wasn’t working so that indicated that it was an electrical issue so I thought it was my battery even though the light wasn’t on for the battery I had my battery tested and the code came back and said I needed an alternator so I had my alternator tested and it works perfectly fine so then I checked the fuse box and it was burned up so that was my whole issue.
Car suddenly all the dashboard lights came on at once brake lights, abs lights, power steering lights, and speedometer. I've been to the dealership they ripped me off said they had no clue what was wrong.
Airbags icon on passengers side appear as off as well as driver side on panel appears as not working, I have to shut off and on the vehicle for it to go away or reset, from time to time it occurs - it just started happening about a month or so ago it was working fine - now every now and then the airbags malfunction and appear as off on the panels and vehicle has to be turned off and on for the off button/ function to be reset. Also lock button on driver side does not lock with the remote control . . . It has to be manually locked for the vehicle to be closed and alarm to be activated.
Driver side window switch is not working good. When using it to pull down driver side window is being scratched up due to I think lack of lubricant. Window switch works but is making marks on my windo and I am scared it will eventually break it.
This recall has been taken care of but is not showing on this site.
When I am driving my 2010 Toyota Corolla s on the highway at speeds of over 50 mph it does not stay straight. It requires alot of strength to keep it straight. It feels like the car is being moved to the right or left by winds. Feels very unsafe to drive. The steering wheel is so stiff to turn sometimes. I have done the wheel alignment several times and put on new tires recently but the problem still remains. Very unsafe to drive and I get very tired after driving at highway speeds just maintaining in my own lane. The dealer's are not much helpful at all with this. I've read online alot of people having problems with this make and model with the steering. There needs to be an investigation on this soon because it's very dangerous to drive.
Takata recall. I have a recall on 2010 Toyota Corolla's airbags.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel was making abnormal sounds and also vibrating. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal gradually, the steering wheel and brake pedal would vibrate. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The contact stated that the traction control warning light would illuminate intermittently and would cause the vehicle to shut off inadvertently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where all four ignition coils were replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was no longer losing motive power and stalling; however, the steering failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I was driving my car yesterday and as I went to accelerate the car didn't move so I pushed the gas pedal again and it went real slow. Then the car jerked and began to smoke really bad so I pulled over and open the hood and flames began to shoot out.
Car would start then driving at 10mph the car stalls and the dash lights illuminate the dashboard. Put the car in park and restart with no problem but if somebody was behind me it would've caused an accident. Last week car did the same thing except I the car was in motion towards an intersection from idle and had to quickly put it in park and restart it and move it before I would've been involved in a deadly accident.
My car suddenly turn on most of the dash lights: brake, abs, power steering, and the speedometer , temperature gauge, revolution gauge and air conditioner stop working. The vehicle was stationary when all tis problems stated start to happen.
Nothing yet but these recalls, one for the electric window master switch, well over a year old, and the other for the passenger side airbag, where I'm cautioned to not have passengers in that front seat, which is really inconvenient and means I don't have full use of my own automobile, has been out long enough that a fix is long overdue. Why the delay and why does the government do nothing for consumers who paid for these cars but with some not insignificant defects. I would like my car fixed, both the master switch for the windows and the passenger side airbag that could fail to deploy.
The driver door caught on fire while I was driving.
Please note: problem with the engine. Engine light come on a lot, but when I had it checked, they could not find out why it continue to come on.
Takata recall steering column power window.
The car battery keeps dying on this vehicle even though the battery has been replaced and checked multiple times. The dealer claims a ground cable on the underside is corroded and "fixed" it- but the problem still occurs. My guess is this is a design defect. It's scary to drive a car that might leave you stranded every time you turn it off. This has been ongoing for the past 6 months.
Driver side airbag light on need new ecu for airbag.
Recall issued 9. 2015 was incomplete. . . . Still waiting on a fix. Recall 15v689.
When applying the brakes, my car will rev up. Especially when I'm going down hill. Another concern is that my car will make a 2-3 second rattling noise upon starting up. It only makes this noise once in a while and it is coming from the engine. Another issue I'm having is the car's check engine light, track light and vsc off light coming on simultaneously on any rainy day and staying on for several days after it has stopped raining. I avoid driving at fast speeds when its rainy because obviously the car is very unstable. My driver side window wont open or close and very cold days and other days it makes a weird noise. I just bought this car used and it has about 79k miles on it.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed and the brakes failed to respond without warning. The emergency brake had to be depressed in order for the vehicle to remain stationary in park. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000.
I'm not 100% sure if the master switch window is part of the recall but my master switch was smoking and I felt like if I continued driving earlier it felt like my car was on fire. I could've lost control because my switch was literally smoking non stop. I was at the traffic light when it happened, luckily I was on the first line, I accidentally hit the window switch with my elbow and it started to smoke. I wasn't feeling safe so I called my insurance and I asked for a tow truck to bring my car to s nearest Toyota dealer, I kept asking Toyota dealer if this was part of the recall but they cannot answer me. I don't feel safe driving Toyota because of this. I might switch my car with some other brands of I keep getting this kind of incident.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while parked, the front passenger side window failed to roll down. The contact stated that the front driver's side door panel was hot to the touch. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v491000 (visibility). The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
Several weeks after I took my vehicle into the local dealership for the pwms assembly window panel control switch problem, I realized my door panel and the switch area was loose. I mentioned this after a couple weeks when I really noticed the window master switch mechanism was dropping downward under the panel cover. The dealership did not take me seriously, so it continued to get worse. I should have taken the car back and insisted they fix it. As of today, I cannot use my key for power entry, I must manually use the key in the door. The power on the windows still works, but the whole master switch assembly is precariously hanging there in the door and the panel that went on top was damaged when they replaced it so now its broken off in pieces and cannot even be used. I am so unhappy with this dealership, for the many times I have taken my car in for service. I do not want to go back to them at all after the horribly shoddy job they did with the master switch and their lack of concern when I told them they put my door back together poorly. Is the work guaranteed, particularly when it's been this long since I took my car in for this recall fix? I take care of my car which at its age only has 38,000 miles on it. I do not want to take it to the same dealership and unfortunately there's not another one close by. Can you help me by demanding a dealership fix my problem before I actually have a fire due to the unprofessional manner in which the dealership handled my recall fix? I wish I had ignored the recall because my car was better off before I took it in.
My son received his car today that was shipped to him from maui to portsmouth,va. As he was driving back to base his passenger side mirror fell off. The inside was melted. I have pictures of the mirror. This is a fire hazard. I contacted Toyota via email about the incident. This car was purchased new and has only had routine maintenance. There is either a faulty connection or faulty part that caused this. I now worry that the car may catch fire.
The car seems to increase in speed even when applying the brakes. The electrical system is not functioning properly. The digital display radio seldom works, the anti skid control does not activate, the lights, both inside and out blink on and off, including headlights at night. The ac and heating unit cuts on and off. It seems as if the entire electrical system in the car is in need of repair.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the steering wheel became unresponsive and the brakes became stiff. As a result, the vehicle hydro-plane on the wet pavement and crashed against a guard rail. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. Pam.
I was driving my car down the highway going about 60mph and all of a sudden lost all engine power, with no warning, stutter, jolt or any sort of noise. I managed to coast to the shoulder but could not get my car to turn over and had to tow it away. Obd code reader would not connect with on board computer. When cranking the engine there was no spark to the coils.
About a week ago my passenger side window wouldn't roll up. Today, I stopped my car at a rest stop and my driver side door started smoking. The wafted up through the windows and the window controlled button. I had to turn the car off because it was getting out of control. I turned the car off. Waited. Turned it back on and the smoke came out instantly. Toyota has had a recall on their camrys with the same problem. Corollas need to be added to the list. I'm suck in another state with a car that can catch on fire at any minute it seems.
I stopped at a red light. Several engine lights started blinking. When the light turned green, my car would only move very slowly. I was lucky enough to get through the light with oncoming traffic and then coast downhill to a residential area. I had just gotten off of a 4-lane divided highway. I had to have the car towed to my Toyota dealership. They told me that my engine control module had short-circuited and replaced it in the next two days, the part # being 8966102f54. The car is running fine now. I'm scared though, that this might happen again, or that it could have happened at high speed, or that my teenage daughters would have panicked in the situation and may have been hit while going through the green light. Thanks for your help.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the front driver side door master power switch was loosened. The vehicle was repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 15v689000 (visibility); however, the dealer applied a lubricant which failed to correct the failure. In addition to the recall remedy, the master power window switch assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Two issues: radio controls fail; usually when outside temps near/above 100f. Touching any control turns off radio, spits out cd. Causes me to focus on radio instead of driving. Dealer no help. Seen the problem listed by others online inc. Youtube video of the radio acting up. 2nd issue: just had to replace water pump, approx. 150,000 miles. Appears there was some sort of recall but I did not receive any notice. Replaced 7/16/16.
I was driving to work when suddenly thick smoke started appearing from the driver's side power window switch. I immediately pulled over and got out of the car. The smoke had the typical smell of burning plastic and the front passenger window slowly opened on its own. After 5 minutes, the smoke stopped and I continued to my office as it was nearby. Later in the evening, upon removing the switch, the melted plastic was clearly visible. One of the switches on the panel does not depress anymore due the melting of the plastic. The switch that does not depress is for the front passenger window and it has been open since Friday July 19th because the problem has not been fixed yet. I am aware of a recall for the exact same issue however, it is for Corolla models up to 2009 and since mine is a 2010 model, Toyota refuses to address this situation.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, a burning odor and smoke emitted from the driver's side door control switch. The contact stated that he disconnected the switch as a temporary remedy to prevent a possible fire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician diagnosed that the master switch needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to cover half of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 31,800.
First, the trunk stopped opening from the inside. Also, the vsc off light, check engine light, and traction light all came on at the same time while I was driving and I have no idea why. The gas cap was on tightly, the fuel levels were right, there was no need for an oil change, and the car is only 2 1/2 years old in which I did not do any wreckless driving.
There was a sudden acceleration in my Toyota Corolla 2010 and hit a tree,I was driving 15 miles per hour at that time. When complained to Toyota they investigated about 15 days ago but no conclusion was provided from Toyota. I was injured but recovered already. Please ask them why they are not providing any conclusion to me. .
