We have a serious nighttime driving visibility condition. The auto manufacturers are now making headlights with plastic lens which tend to darken in a relatively short time thereby inhibiting nighttime driving vision especially for older people who need more light than a younger driver. It in my opinion should not be tolerated. The manufacturers should be compelled to go back to glass lenses for safety reasons.

The plastic headlight lenses are clouded and yellowed and, as a result, obscures the brightness and effectiveness of the headlights. This is a safety hazard for driving at night as the headlight is dimmed to oncoming cars as wells as it lessens visibility for the driver. It should not be the responsibility of the vehicle owner to have the headlight lenses replaced when the cloudiness could be due to possible defective materials as this has not happened to any other car that I've owned and any that belong to other family members and friends. The lenses have gradually clouded starting about 2 years ago.

The beams formsan "x" that crosses directly in front of the drivers field of vision- it is so pronounced that it lights up trees above the car. This situation is a distraction to the driver, and affects visability - especially in rain or haze when light beam bounces off and obscures forward vision.
