The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the vehicle randomly stalled without warning more than once and the service engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the remote starter installed by another dealer was repaired incorrectly. The dealer that installed the remote starter stated that they completed the repair correctly. The service engine light continued to randomly illuminate. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v384000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no repair solution. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The VIN and failure mileage was not available.

2 Service Engine Light On problem of the 2002 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/15/2002

Tl-the contact owns a 2002 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, there is a low rumbling sound coming from the engine. They also noticed a strong exhaust smell coming inside the vehicle. The vehicle is also burning oil more than normal. The contact stated that they would have to put aproximately five quarts of oil after driving 150 to 200 miles. The service engine light becomes illuminated and stays on. The vehicle soes not accelerate like normal when the oil is low. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and diagnosed that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. Ed.
