4 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2003 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 07/07/2014

Our complaint is with a tire on our car. The tire is a mirada brand, sport gtx, size is 195/65r15. Dot number is 4un9 with date code 6ah5111. Tire is manufactured in the philippines. The car is a 2003 Toyota Corolla. Tire was mounted on right rear of car with nothing in car but driver and one(1) suitcase of clothes. Tire blew out the sidewall at approx. 70 mph on interstate hwy. 26 west of columbia, s. C. On 7/7/2014. Driver had been driving about 2. 5 hours, all on good dry and clean pavement, no obstacles were encountered to run over and damage tire in any way, and air pressure in tire was sufficient. Tires were purchased new and had at time of failure approx. 30k miles. Vehicle was driven rest of trip with spare installed, we have failed tire in our possession. We are concerned with any lack of oversight on tires and other safety related products manufactured outside of the u. S. As there have been reports of failures like this in the past that I am aware of. Tire sales people where I purchased the set on our car has said they are unable to purchase these tires any longer, so we had to acquire a different brand to replace the failed tire.

7 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 02/09/2010

Toyota Corolla s 2010 [xxx] with extra stabilizer bar kit, purchased 11-30-09 with delivery in 12/09. 1) approximately 1 month after purchase ,the car starting to veer sharply right then left when driving on the highway, it was/is difficult to control requiring a tight grip on the wheel. It feels like strong winds are moving the car but winds are absent and road conditions are normal. This event comes and goes unexpectedly, generally lasts the duration of my commute once started, sometimes occurs with the tire pressure gauge but not always, sometimes occurs after rapid braking. It does not feel like an alignment or balance problem, the car darts from one end of the lane, to the median of the lane on its own. On this date 2-24-10 my local dealership filled the tires, and made a slight change to the left alignment they could not duplicate the problem and stated "this could be a matter of personal preferences" regarding how I felt the car drove when this occurred. The Toyota manager also told me today that they understand "there could be a problem but they have no direction on how to repair it. " when asked then if he could guarantee my safety and that this would not occur again he stated no, but there was nothing for him to do. No injuries to date. I do not feel Toyota is making reasonable efforts to quickly eliminate this problem, acknowledge a problem, and do not wish to resolve this with statements regarding my personal preference for the drive, and since this in their opinion is not reproducible for them it is not a viable problem for them to repair. 2) on approximately 2-11-10 I had to use my brakes in an emergency situation in which my brakes were temporally non-response. I had to downshift the gears, remove my foot totally from the gas pedal ,and maneuvered the car away from the other stopped car. No abs was felt, the brake pedal was depressed fully, this occurred at hwy speeds. No acknowledgement of problem or remedy proposed by toy currently.

8 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2007 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/28/2010

My brakes momentarily fail at times when I pass over uneven surfaces on the road. It occurs a few times every week (I commute about 20 miles everyday). I live in chicago, and this brake failure occurs in nice weather as well as during snowy or rainy conditions. I have had my tires checked, and they are not the problem. The brake failure began to occur when the car was new. My tire pressure light comes on all the time for no reason. My mechanic has a Toyota Corolla too and he told me his goes on all the time as well. I just press the tire pressure button in the car to make it go off.

9 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/07/2010

Tire indicator light comes on after driving 20 -40 miles. Replaced front passenger tire in January 2010 to see if that remedied situation though did not. Dealership has evaluated car three times before installing new sensors. After new sensors replaced February 2010, tire indicator light resumes to light March 2010 vehicle seen yesterday at dealership, dealership states all tires at 20 pounds, readjusted to 32. Dealership states someone is tampering with tire pressure though due to my situation I have only allowed the dealership to look at my vehicle as it is under warranty. Light comes on again 3/12/10. Notified dealership of light malfunction again.

10 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/19/2009

I ordered a newly-designed 2009 Toyota Corolla xle from a local dealership. It arrived in August, 2009. The dealership had no xle models on the lot, so a test drive was not possible. After the car arrived, I noticed that the car was pulling independently on the road to the left without just cause. I thought maybe I should have the dealership check the tires/steering/ or alignment on my next visit. As the weather became more rainy in the fall, I noticed that the car kept feeling as though it was not holding the road safely-- particularly at turnpike speed. I live relatively close to the elementary school where I teach, so I do not have to usually drive the turnpike, but when I did--the car 's steering or tires ?? felt out of control. Then I noticed that the tire sensor came on and I saw that I had a flat tire when I was at school. The dealership came and towed the car in to the shop. They patched it. I thought maybe that would correct the problem, but the sensor kept coming on and going off. I went back to the dealership, explaining the car was pulling to the left and I thought maybe the steering or tires were not working. They worked on it again and I bought a new tire from the dealership and they balanced, aligned, etc. And I paid for it. Then it snowed and I noticed that the slightest amount of snow increased the unsafe feeling of not having steering control. I have tires that are bridgestone/turanza tires that are rated m/s that came with the car plus the new tire they replaced is the same kind. Please know that we have owned another Toyota for 12 years and nothing like this happened. I am scared to drive this car. I feel unsafe.

11 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/16/2008

Drove to work, about 30 miles, and by the time I got here the two right tires on my vehicle were flat. This is the second time in 4 months that this has happened. Had vehicle towed to shop, where I was informed that there had been a report of defective valves. All four tires had the defective valve stems. Had them replaced. Had to pay a pro-rated cost both times on a tire that had to be replaced.
