2 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2005 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/16/2016

I have been a big proponent of cooper tires due to their manufacturing processes. I've since changed my mind due to the 3 blow outs we've had with the cs4 touring (2) and now most recent cs5 grand touring line. The cs5 tires were purchased less than a year ago. All have been on the sidewall and all have been on the freeway going at highway speeds. It appears cooper tires does not care about people lives! obviously quality is not one of their core values. Try being in traffic on the freeway and having a blow out those are the consequences. Fortunately nobody was hurt just extremely scared. I will be taking the tires back to express tires to see what kind of support they will provide. Btw only option to select is cs4 touring but these are the cs5 grand touring. Same problem built into the newer model.

3 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2016 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

The contact owns a 2016 Toyota Corolla equipped with firestone 740 tires (na), size: 215/4517r (na). The contact stated that all four tires were only at 32 psi, which caused the sidewall to fail and touch the pavement. The maximum psi, according to the driver side door panel, was 32 psi; however, the tires had a psi of 51. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician stated that the pressure was 32 psi and no more. The dealer would not infiltrate any more tire pressure because they did not want to be liable. The manufacturer was made aware and referred the contact back to the dealer. The contact replaced the tires at his expense with 205/55/16r. The approximate failure mileage of the tire and vehicle was 25. The VIN and dot number were not available.

4 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2005 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/08/2015

While driving on the interstate, my back tire's sidewall blew out and I was forced to the side of the road. The tire was in good condition with plenty of tread depth left. Vehicle is parked on pavement and not grass to promote moisture/dry rot. After reading on line, michelin has recalled 100,000 tires last month. A coworker stated the same thing happened to their michelin tire last week. Please investigate smaller michelin tires. This is clearly a defective tire and seems to be very common. Luckily it was a back tire and I remained in control of the vehicle.

10 Tire Sidewall problem of the 1999 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 02/17/2011

On 02/17/2011, I observed that my passenger side front tire was partially deflated. I inflated the tire as I could not see any foreign object in the tire. On 02/18/2011, I took my car to the walmart store #0548 where I had purchased the (4) douglas(xtra-tracii) size:185 65r14 tires on 12-21-2010, the tecnician found a pin size crack/break in the weak point of the tire(edge of sidewall where it meets the treads), it could not be repaired since the store policy is not to repair sidewallls, the manager did not issue me a new tire, so I plugged the tire & it is now warping/deformed.

11 Tire Sidewall problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/07/2009

I purchased a 2010 Toyota Corolla s on 11-7-2009. On the test drive I complained to the salesman that the steering felt strange. It seemed to have a center spot and then any left or right turn would cause a minor pull either direction as if the steering turned on. The salesman said it was the electric steering on all the new cars. That was a slow speed test drive. After the purchase I got on the interstate and was shocked to feel the steering feel as if I were going around a semi tractor trailer rig and being pushed around by the wind, but yet I was not near a vehicle. It seemed like loose steering or tire squirm. When I got back from my trip I took it to the local Toyota service center and asked if there is an adjustment on the power steering or if there is an issue with the tires. To both questions my service advisor said no. On another trip on the interstate, it all of a sudden started acting like it was going to fish tail swinging back and forth, like I was ridding on balloon tires, or without sidewalls. I quickly slowed down. In cross winds or going around a semi it is worse. At my 5,000 service, I asked if there are any steering or tire issues, and my advisor still said no, but part of the service was to rotate the tires, and this has seemed to lessen the squirm. I now have 7,000 miles on my 2010 Toyota Corolla s.
