P195 /65r/15 91 h. Yokohama avid ascend. I bought 4 tires on 04/11/22 at kinderhook Toyota my car had 61008 miles on it. On 08/04/25 brought my car to same dealer was told I needed new tires. They had an 85000 mile warranty on them. I can understand tires lasting maybe 60000 miles or so, but only 20000 miles? was told I can contact your office about this. Could not find a different page for a non- accident problem. Dealer said to contact yokohama customer service and kinderhook Toyota would send the tires back.

3 Tire problem of the 2018 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/31/2024

A whole new set of 4 tires were purchased and installed on the vehicle on 10/10/2024. While driving at highway speed 3 weeks later the rear driver side tire, in quick succession, went flat and almost instantaneously disintegrated causing the car to spin out and crash off the road. The car airbags deployed- saving the driver from injury or worse. Since the incident occurred out of home state and far from home and the car was totaled - it was sold as junked and not available for inspection. The accident could have involved other vehicles if the road was more crowded. Since only a single vehicle was involved - maryland police would not write or provide a report. We believe that the tire failed on its own and wasn’t caused by an external object.

4 Tire problem of the 2019 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/04/2023

On August 28, 2023, I purchased two yokohama avid ascend lx bw tires, size 205/55r16. I was charged $209. 19 for each tire, plus another $129. 95 for a 4-wheel alignment. The total for the two tires and alignment was $549. 16. I had these tires for a little over one month before this incident. On October 4, 2023, after driving about eight miles on the freeway at around 60 to 65 mph, I pulled off the freeway to buy gas. When I started to leave the gas station, I noticed my tire warning light was on. I got out of the car and noticed the left rear tire was low and going flat. I drove home (less than one mile) and called a towing service. The towing service did not arrive. So I sprayed canned air in the tire and drove to the tire shop. The tire shop person said the tire was not repairable and showed me a large hole in the tire tread with what looked like fraying around the hole. The person said he could not tell what caused the flat but suggested it may have been aggravated by heat. It was about 95 degrees outside. They put the spare on my car. I called the dealership where I bought the tire, and they said to take it to an affiliated dealership, which I did the following day. That dealership person took pictures of the tire but did not know what caused the flat. They said they would have to order a replacement tire, which did not arrive until October 6, 2023. They charged me another $36. 16 to install the replacement. For the large price charged, these tires should have been durable, reliable, and trouble free. My efforts to contact yokohama were returned “undeliverable. ” I am concerned about the safety and reliability of these expensive tires. If these tires are affected by heat, they should not be sold in the western united states where the climate is often hot in the summer and fall months. Anyone selling such tires should issue a warning if they are affected by heat.

5 Tire problem of the 2021 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/29/2023

Primewell ps830 205/55/r16 - these tires were discontinued by the manufacturer one or two years ago and replaced with an upgraded tire because of tread skid and wear issues. The tires were on a certified used Toyota Corolla I purchased on September 29, 2023 from Toyota of Lincoln park, chicago, IL. I mentioned on the test drive that the brakes were making noise at every stop, with an occasional thud sound. The salesman, dustin dolan, first told me the noise was because the car hadn't been driven recently, then that the noise was normal and then that he agreed the sound wasn't right. He said he'd have the brakes "looked at. " they weren't. The car consistently made skidding noises when braking. The dealer continued to tell me the brakes were fine and the tires were fine because they would never sell at car with unsafe tires. I also found a slit in the rear passenger sidewall. Took car to a reputable dealer. They found the tires with uneven wear and choppy condition. They also discovered rusted rotors. They repaired the brakes and replaced the unsafe, discontinued tires with new tires.

16 Tire problem of the 2015 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/24/2021

We had four brand new goodyear assurance all-season tires installed by our regular mechanics (harper's farm bp, columbia, maryland) on August 23, 2021. The very next day our son was driving on I-83 near harrisburg, PA en route to ithaca, NY when the rear driver's-side tire completely failed. The tread separated from the sidewalls and was left on the highway somewhere. (see uploaded photos. ) fortunately, he kept control of the car, but there was something wrong with this tire. I do not expect a one-day old tire to fail so completely in this way. Maybe he hit a nail on the highway and lost some air pressure, but I would expect him to have a flat tire, not an exploded tire. We had the tire replaced at derry auto & tire in harrisburg, PA the next day. I have attached receipts from both repair shops to document the dates.

24 Tire problem of the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 02/26/2014

In Dec 2013 the lease end on my 2011 Corolla was coming due so I picked up a 2014 Toyota Corolla le lease on 12/4/2013. This vehicle had 8 miles on it & was equipped with proxes 4 plus 205/55/r16 tires ( I have the id numbers from each tire if you need them). On 2/26/14 this vehicle had 492 miles on it & I noticed the left rear tire had a large odd shaped cut in it in the middle of the outside tread area. I went to suntoyota in holiday fla took pics of the tire damage & the service rep robert riegelsperger told me they didn't have a replacement tire in they would have to order one. I had purchased road hazard tire coverage at the time I leased the car & "assumed" this odd cut came from road construction in the area so I wasn't concerned. I had to leave this 2014 Corolla at dealership for a gas tank issue which was not covered under warranty so I called my insurance company put in a claim for that issue & rented a car. On 2/28/14 I went back to suntoyota to pick up my car & when I looked at the replacement tire I asked if it was 'new' & was told yes it was although it didn't appear to me it was; I am not comfortable with this dealer. Mr riegelsperger also said that fidelity warranty service wasn't happy about replacing a tire that only had 492 miles on it so we had words over that. Now on approximately 3/26/14 I noticed this replacement tire has what looks like stress line cracks straight across the width of the tire (took pics) in 2 places & car only has 644 miles on it. Obviously I am concerned about this & my safety as well as the safety of others riding near me should this tire come apart. I have looked to see if there are any issues with this tire but cannot find any recent ones. I will once again report this issue to se Toyota but I am really uncomfortable not only with the tire but definitely with this dealer & service department but need to protect my safety in the event something is wrong with these tires. 2014 Corolla's also have "design flaws". .

26 Tire problem of the 2013 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/07/2013

We bought two new cars and these tires were standard equipment on both of them. We had two blowouts in less than two months. Both set of tires covered 3500/2117 miles respectively. Tires valves were checked one set of tires is losing pressure constantly. My next step is to file complaint with NHTSA to trigger a investigation. My advice is if you had issues with these tires is to file a complaint with NHTSA to prevent any body from getting injured.

27 Tire problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/30/2013

2009 Toyota Corolla. Consumer writes in regards to water pump pulley disengagement and need for third set of tires on vehicle. The consumer stated he heard a noise coming from under the hood, followed by a sound of something hitting the highway. He gradually slowed down and pulled to the side of the road, raised the hood and discovered the flywheel for the water pump sitting on top of the engine. He walked back up the highway in an attempt to locate what fell from the vehicle. He gathered what he found and was loose under the hood, and had the vehicle towed to the nearest service center and had a new water pump installed. While at the service center, the brakes were serviced and a new set of tires were recommended because they were cupping. The consumer took the vehicle to another establishment to have the tires inspected. Firestone, informed the consumer the left front and rear tow was out of alignment and they adjusted the left front to correct it, but informed him, they could not make any adjustment for the rear, as there was no guarantee given that the alignment issue was the cause of the cupping. Within a week of having the new water pump installed, the consumer began to hear a clicking sound from under the hood, so he took the vehicle back to the repair shop, to determine the cause of the clicking sound. An inspection revealed the a/c compressor needed to be replaced.

29 Tire problem of the 2007 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/30/2012

I drive a 2007 Toyota Corolla and purchased my tires from America's tire (discount tire) in 2009. Strangely, there are three different dot numbers for these four tires (two of the four have the same number). The numbers are as follows: cc9n 81p4509, 81p3109, and 81p2809. These yokohama avid touring tires are developing discoloration and concentric cracking around the outer and inner side walls. The cracking appears to be similar to dry rot. This seems to have occurred at 45,000 miles of wear. These tires are rated to last 65,000 miles. This premature failure is both disappointing and dangerous. The cracks are deep and I fear tread separation or blowout. I will be getting these tires replaced to avoid any possible injuries or accidents. I have rotated my tires frequently and the tread has otherwise worn evenly with only minimal tread wear. This failure is not a result of any mistreatment, neglect or bad driving habits.

30 Tire problem of the 2005 Toyota Corolla

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the second time and the dealer diagnosed that the failure was associated with the tires. The tires were replaced, but the failure continued. The tire manufacturer was notified and agreed to replace the tires. The failure continued to occur at high speeds. . . Updated 08/21/2012 updated 08/23/12.

34 Tire problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/09/2010

I have a Toyota Corolla 2010,I had it since June 2010, . I went through a major car accident on hw 1 CA @ 8:45 am on Tuesday which was a sunny, clear , not foggy nor rainy day (weather condition was perfect),I was driving on 63 mph (normal speed is 65) on the fast left lane and suddenly I felt that the left front tire is veering the car into a different direction acting as if it below up (but it didn't) and my car is veering to the left , my steering wheel is locked and is not responding at all when trying to change the car directionto the right. There was no way to drive the car in a straight line. The steering wheel failed completely to respond to any attempt to turn it to the right in an attempt to gain control over the car and attempting to drive it in straight line. Brakes as well were not responding. All attempts to stop the car or turn it to the right to avoid bumping the rails and keep it straight in the lane failed. I completely lost control over the car & it started fishtailing in the front. The car didn't stop until it bumped into the guarding rail, at this moment the car just stopped and it took the car more than 20 feed to automatically stop by it self. I failed to stop it. At this moment the car corrected its direction &went in straight line direction scrubbing against the rail completely damaging the entire left side of the car before it stall. Then all the dash board lights and car sounds went on and the car stalled. The car was not in a drivable condition so I had to tow it away. I have a witness who described my accident saying that my car kept swerving to the left & was ambiguously uncontrolled, he was the one that took care of me after the car bumped the rail. This accident is a life threatening accident not only for me but also for others on the hw. I was lucky it happened on my way home after I dropped off my son to school ,the two car seats I had in the car were damaged, the car damage was estimated by $10,000. I suffer from a severe pain.

35 Tire problem of the 2005 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/08/2010

I have purchased a set of 4 hankook optima 727 all season tires on 12/08/09. These are rated for 100,000 miles and I have done about 15,000 miles. Until recently I considered them excellent but in November and most recently I have found them skidding on wet surfaces at relatively low speeds 25-35 mph. On a patch of ice there was skidding at around 10 mph. I did hit the curb. The road grip seems worse than other all season tires I have used. The tires have been inspected and the pressure tested. There has been no blowout, puncture or shredding, but your site allows no "other" category.
