Fuel Injection Problems of Toyota RAV4

Toyota RAV4 owners have reported 3 problems related to fuel injection (under the gasoline fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Toyota RAV4 based on all problems reported for the RAV4.

1 Fuel Injection problem of the 2004 Toyota RAV4

Failure Date: 09/25/2007

There is a throttle response delay upon initial acceleration, most noticeable when engine is still cold. Most resembles a flat spot. Engine actually stumbles, or hesitates when starting off. Also hesitates when underway until warm.

2 Fuel Injection problem of the 2006 Toyota RAV4

Failure Date: 07/28/2006

Acceleration stumbles & bogs down when gas pedal is applied. This scenario occurs all the time when after a normal acceleration is performed and a need arises to accelerate occurs. If you depress accelerator immediately upon taking off this does not occur but, it causes you to over correct stumbling by speeding quickly. If you need to accelerate, the engine will not respond to a normal depression of gas pedal. You need to depress it quickly to cause the engine to go into passing gear etc. My "auto wise" son has suggested that the gas pedal drive by wire sensors could be failing or be bad etc.

3 Fuel Injection problem of the 2000 Toyota RAV4

Failure Date: 05/17/2006

The code scanner on both my and my mother-in-laws Toyota Rav4 (2000 and 2002) have read errors with the fuel ratio and now ours is claiming that the air fuel ratio sensors needs to be replaced. Ours reported errors p1130 and p1133.
