An intense squeak initiated the visit to the auto dealer. We were informed that the windshield was rubbing on the vehicle frame and to fix the problem they would have to replace the entire windshield. The windshield was replaced which solved the problem for now.

Water seams to gather on the front passenger floor mat. I went to the dealership closest to me and they told me there was a leak from the windshield area and technician needs to asses the situation but since I had 37,000 miles on the car it would not be covered. This complaint involves the glass in the windshield of a 2006 Toyota Rav4. Briefly, the glass shattered in a manner that is uncharacteristic of safety glass leaving shards and slivers of glass throughout the vehicle from the impact of a rock from the highway. I believe the tempering process left this window defective and the potential for injuries, particularly to the eyes, of drivers or passengers is more than should be allowable.

While sitting in my driveway during my lunch hour, 1310 hours, the windshield cracked. The crack starts at the top passenger side, comes and at almost the middle of the passenger side, curves towards the driver's side. Car is 2 1/2 years old. Car was taken for service the next day. Toyota refuses replace the windshield. Four service tech's said they see no rock chips, and said the crack is due to factory failure. However, on the service report, it's written that crack is due to heat. I live in eureka, California, on the coast, where the high might be 63 degrees if we are lucky!.

Windshield for the Toyota rav 4 are cracking very easy. Mine has less than 3000 and I have already repaired it once and today it cracked again. The dot rating is not right dot 20 . My pontiac is 147 and has taken much bigger hits an no damage.

Fuel tank access door has design defect. When opened (to gain access to fuel cap), it rubs the edge of the vehicle body panel surrounding the access door. This is also a problem with model 2001, as a friend has reported the same complaint. As for the vehicle glass, it was scratched easily from road debris being rubbed by the wipers, and also inside of the glass grit. Windshield is not holding up as good as it should be. When driving on road, and what ever may come flying in windshield's way can easily chip windshield. Contacted dealer ,and dealer said that there was nothing they could do. Consumer states that there are at least 12 chips currently on the windshield.

The windshield and rear-view mirror are not set into the window frame causing vibration at any speed and making it hard to see out the rear view mirror.

Windshield has lots of small chips on it, it looks like it has been sandblasted.

The brakes screetch when applied. The sound is particularly startling if the brakes are applied quickly. This sound is not the "wear sensor" sound (dealer checked brakes and said they are fine). This sound is different than the standard squeky brakes you hear on some cars and is very concerning. The windshield would rattle while driving (dealer put in a gasket and sound stopped).
