1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2008 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 03/06/2015

There had been a big snowstorm the day prior. I was driving in the morning in very cold temperatures. The roads had been plowed but there was still slush on the highways. While driving on the highway, my brakes failed to stop the vehicle even though I was not driving at an incredibly fast speed. I was forced to pull over onto the side of the road and wait an hour for the temperatures to warm up. Since then, I have noticed that the brakes have a repeated tendency to not properly slow down the car in cold conditions (both rain and snow). The symptoms of this incident very closely match the Toyota recall that was initiated for other vehicles manufactured in 2008 that had brake failures while driving in snow and cold conditions. I called Toyota corporate headquarters on the day of the incident to report what had happened but they insisted there was no recall for my vehicle. They advised me to have the vehicle inspected. On 21 March, I took the vehicle into an auto shop for a brake inspection. I was told that the brake pads appear new and there are no noticeable issues with my brakes.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2007 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 02/03/2010

My brakes fail to work on bumpy or slippery roads. When I press down on the brake pedal they start to shake and the car does not stop. I have noticed if I press the brake harder in those situations I'm able to gain control of the car once again. I have taken my vehicle to the car dealer and they tell me my brakes are fine that they are just worn down, but after replacing the brake pads the problem still happened. This hasn't caused an accident yet but it happens all the time I have had the luck to gain control of the car . My most recent incident was on February 3, 2010, the road was bumpy and wet and I was doing 25 mph. As I went to press down on the brake it started to shake and the car did not stop until I pressed harder down on the brake where I gained control once again. This has happened at least 1 to 2 times a month since I have had the vehicle and every time I take it to a repair shop all they tell me is that my brakes are worn out.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2005 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 11/28/2004

: the contact stated while traveling 40 mph, the vehicle's front brakes made a loud screeching noise when the brakes were applied and caused increased stopping distances. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on 6 occasions and the front brake pads and discs were replaced twice. This did not remedy the problem. The manufacturer was not contacted.
