The vsc trac light, the vsc off light and the brake lights all come on. . . . It caused my brakes to actually fail. I can turn the vehicle off and restart and this seems to reset it. This happens without warning and at various times. It happens quite frequently and especially during the warm summer months. It is extremely dangerous and would happily have it fixed if someone could tell what the exact fix is?.
My car has been having this problem for several months and I decided to bring it in to get it checked and fixed. My signals for the brake light, trac off lights and vsc trace lights all go on at the same time periodically as I am driving anywhere on the freeway or the street, and disapear periodically. I thought I had fixed everything when they diagnosed 5 things on my vehicle that needed to be fixed. One of them was my mass air flow sensors that are making my lights go on and off. To which I went ahead and let them fix it and many other things and still it is not fixed and continues to go on and off. This is very dangerous because it's messing with my brake system.
The vsc trac light, the vsc off light and the brake lights all come on. . . . It caused my brakes to actually fail. I can turn the the vehicle off and restart and this seems to reset it. This happens without warning and at various times. This has happened more than once. I took vehicle to dealer, they replaced a $200 part and it did not help. It's happened again. I've read many many reports of this online. Why no recall. It's a miracle nobody has died. Brake failure???? seriously.
While driving at low speeds the vehicle experienced a momentary loss of power and a grinding/vibrating of the brakes while in motion. The trac off and vsc trac warning lights came on along with the brake light. The warning lights and vibrating of the brakes could only be reset by turning the ignition off and restarting the vehicle. It happened twice in the last 12 hours.
Brakes fail on occassion and vsc light, trac off light and brake light come on. Hard to stop vehicle. Turning car off and back on again seem to temporarily solve the problem. Seems as if this is a common onging issue with the 2006 Sequoia based on previous posts. Taken to dealer on three different occassions and they were unable to identify problem. Today 5/23 dealer stated its a vacuum and repair part is approx. $1000. Please investigate this complaint because of the seriousness of the loss of stopping power with such a large vehicle before someone gets hurt. At least twelve complaints of similar problems have been filed.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph the vsc, traction control and anti-lock brake warning lights illuminated. The contact mentioned that when he attempted to engaged the brake it became stuck and failed to stop the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle went through an intersection. The contact mentioned that after the vehicle was brought to a stop and restarted the lights illuminated again and it made a loud noise. The failure recurred once again on a separate occasion. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The failure and current mileage was 60,000. The VIN was unavailable. Pmb.
Abs vsc and brake light comes on sitting still. . And at 30 mph abs system engages for no reason and no traction issues.
Brake warning light comes on periodicaly. Vsc light shows on and off. Brakes are unresponsive at times. All three lights come on and off. Traction control is activated without warning. Took to dealership today and had to pay $2,000 for a new brake booster and skid control ecu. I have seen the same problem with many other Toyotas. It is a safety issue and should be part of a recall campaign.
Vsc trac/vsc off, brake warning lights go on all at once. I have a 2006 Toyota Sequoia.
For almost a year, the vsc trac, vsc off, and emergency brake lights have been illuminated on the dash of our 2006 Sequoia. It has been in for repairs six times, and many remedies have been attempted, to no avail. The three lights continue to light at random times in the past week, the master cylinder has been replaced, they have replaced and retorques sensors to spec, and replaced the booster assembly. The lights remain on. Often the tech claims that there are no codes in the system and that they can't fix what they can't see is broken. They tell me it isn't a safety issue. But upon reading many message boards, this problem is not random, is indeed a safety issue and seems to have fallen through the cracks with Toyota.
I have a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. The vsc & trac lights as well as the brake light and the tire pressure light started coming on in the morning, usually when cold. Not sure exactly when this started but it has been happening for years now. The lights usually go off when the engine is shut off and usually the only time it is an issue is when the weather gets the slightest bit cool. After researching this issue online, I am seeing that this appears to be a very common problem and apparently there have been some brake related issues (vehicle not braking properly) also associated with these lights, although there has not been a recall to date.
