Car Stall Problems of Toyota Sequoia

At stop and starting to accelerate vehicle hesitates while trying to go into intersection. Stalls for a few seconds vsc light comes on and once system gains control it lets me actually accelerate and proceed. Dangerous due to oncoming traffic and the hesitation time of not knowing how long until I regain control.

I was driving on the highway. Suddenly my truck began vibrating harshly. Soon after, the truck stalled out. I had no braking or steering assist at all. The truck wouldn't start so I couldn't pull off to the side of the road. Being stuck in the middle of a busy highway was a frightening experiment. I had it towed to a local independent shop. The service technician found a broken intake valve spring. This is a costly repair for a truck with only 68,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled recurringly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. No repairs were performed. The recurring failure progressed and the contact would have to wait several minutes before the vehicle could be restarted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the contact was awaiting the results of the dealer¿s investigation of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 400.

Vehicle acceleration stalls for a few seconds when turning right into traffic. This issue is the same as NHTSA 10v176000, but is not covered under this safety recall. This issue is very hazardous to drivers.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic that was unable to locate a failure code. The vehicle was also test driven, but the failure did not duplicate. Consumer says vehicle stalls without warning. Consumer was driving last Thursday when the vehicle stalled. Also, vehicle stalled six times this morning when consumer was taking it to garage. Sometimes it starts missing, and one can push the gas pedal and vehicle will continue on with out stalling.
