The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Sequoia. While starting the vehicle, an abnormal noise was observed and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the secondary air pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

2 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 08/30/2016

The secondary injection system has failed. Toyota is aware of this defect and has extended the warranty for this issue on 2008-2010 Sequoia. The 2007 has the same engine and same defective parts but Toyota will not cover the replacement. Hey should cover all vehicles with the same engine types because they are all going to have the same issue! this repair can cost the consumer up to $3600. The vehicle makes a loud sound upon starting and the trac and abs light and check engine light appears. My vehicle is at the dealer but in my opinion Toyota should repair these vehicle free of charge especially if this is a known issue.

3 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2003 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 06/17/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle started to decelerate on its own. In addition, the contact was going 70 mph and the same abnormal noise happen and the vehicle decelerated. This was a recurring failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. Failure Date: 08/19/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the brake was engaged however, the vehicle hesitated and exhibited a loud noise before stalling. The traction control, brake and check engine warning lights all illuminated after the failure occurred. The vehicle was restarted and the traction control and brake warning lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who performed a diagnostic, locating the failure at the wheel speed sensor, the ecu, engine control module and the abs control system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 113,761. Kmj.

At 66,000 miles my Sequoia had engine problem, ( that's what Toyota people said ) I took my truck for maintenance and oil change if I see the light is on for maintenance. Friday sept 16, 2011 I took it Toyota dealership for oil change and brake pads done, wed the 21 of sept, I heard a loud noise and it just stop! I was devastated because, they didn't know what have caused it, please help!.

6 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2006 Toyota Sequoia

2006 Toyota Sequoia. Consumer states mats would constantly move under the pedals interfering with gas and brake pedals, there was a loud noise while driving high speeds and when it rains water would leak inside the consumer stated the dealer assured her, they had rectified the problem by replacing the mats and making sure the lining around the windows were tight. However, the leak continued as well as the noise while driving. Also, the navigation/radio,cd player wasn't working properly. The dealer was finally able to stop the water from leaking in the vehicle. The consumer then stated the vehicle began to stall/ hesitate while turning and then it would jerk fast at times. A diagnosis revealed the transmission pan gasket was leaking. Also the power outlets were no longer working, the vehicle began to ride rough, the seat would grind and vibrate, the tire pressure monitoring light illuminated, the brake hardware kit was falling apart, the engine was leaking oil and the dealer replaced the gaskets, the trunk wouldn't open. The consumer stated while driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly stopped. The dealer stated the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the consumer the drain plug was missing.

I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia that just had a major computer system failure with the skid control systems. There was no warning, the vsc lights came on in the dashboard and a loud sound came from the engine, like bending metal. This vehicle only has 28k in 3 1/2 years, and that means I'm 6 months past bumper to bumper warranty.
