The src airbag (curtain/side airbag) malfunction indicator went off. It has been below of recently. When I googled it, some people pointed it out to the yellow harness under the front seats. I wiggled it a little as some people suggested and the indicator light went away (I don't know if it may come back again). This is a major safety concern to me. Anyone could easily break the hardness when they pull the tray under seat. Or a car accident when your shoe could accidentally kick the hardness and break it, preventing the side airbag from deploying. It has to be a better way to protect the hardness. Especially here in minnesota with below of the hardness get too cold and may become brittle.
The air bag light is blinking, indicating the side curtain air bags are not functioning. There is a TSB on this, #0069-12. A search indicates many problems with this that appear related to a defect in the vehicle wiring. This should be recalled and fixed by Toyota.
The driver side airbag light blinks on/off, indicating problems with the airbag. According to my research, this is a common problem with the 2006 Sienna that Toyota is aware of.
My air bag light went on. It was traced by the sealer to a faulty wire under the from passenger seat. The issue is that there is a drawer right there and the drawer often gets stuck and interferes with the wiring. The wiring is very exposed and can easily get broken! the is a design flaw that affects the safety of this vehicle and should be recalled! I have seen many, many complaints about this issue from similar owners of this vehicle. . Read more...
Air bag light started to blink, so airbags won't work if there is a crash had to have it fixed at dealer for $600.
One morning, just a regular morning as always, I got into my car to drive to work, turned the car on, and the airbag light came on. It continued to flash the whole time I was driving. It has been flashing ever since, every time I drive this car. There was no accidents or any funny business, just out of the blue it started flashing.
Our van has a srs airbag light that flashes for no reason at all. We have not been in an accident or had any incidents with this vehicle. It has under 25,000 miles on it. I believe this issue should be addressed, it appears many others have had similar issues. I am worried about the safety of myself, husband and 3 children. Toyota please take responsibility for the airbag sensor problems and help keep our families safe. You would if it was your family!.
The airbag indicator light comes on and flashes. This is a known problem with Toyota yet they choose not to issue a recall. Cost to fix it may exceed $1,500-$2,000. As this is a safety issue, a recall should be issued. Toyota service bulletin t-sb-1062-10.
My airbag light came on. I took it to a Toyota dealership for repair. They ordered the part, but then also informed me I needed a new water pump. I had the water pump repaired, then several weeks later the airbag part came in, but I didn't have the money to have it repaired. I still have the part. Now there is a recall on some Toyota models, but I did not find a recall specific to my vehicle. I think my vehicle should maybe be included in this recall. What do I need to do? I do not have the money to have the airbag part installed and repaired. Just let me say I love, love, love my 2006 Sienna. I will keep it until it dies.
Our srs airbag light has come on and will not go off. We have had no accidents in this vehicle. We have gotten a cost estimate to fix this problem and it is well over $1000. We have read online that there are numerous accounts like this that have not been taken care of by Toyota. What should the consumer have to pay for faulty wiring and be in danger of their srs systems not working properly?.
When starting the vehicle the air bag light begins blinking and will not go out. Based on online information I determined that the harness under the passenger seat may be faulty. I unplugged the harness and replugged it and the light went out. After a few hundred miles the blinking light returned. The vehicle is out of warranty and too expensive to fix. It appears that there are many people with the same issue. Please check into the airbag problem on this vehicle.
Air bag light on dash started blinking and has continued blinking whenever vehicle is operated.
Drove van for approximately 20 minutes, parked it for an hour, when I got back in, my airbag light was indicating. Called dealer, told me to bring it in for a $150 fee just to read the light. Took it to my mechanic who told me the driver's side airbag was indicating and they had received a technical service bulletin about it and had several Toyotas in with the same issue.
My 2006 Sienna was backed into at the passenger rear quarter panel by another vehicle. After about 2 or 3 days the air bag light came on. The body shop reset the airbags. About 2 months later the light came on again. Took back to body shop and they had the same b code from the accident and reset. After researching on the web it seems that the front airbag sensor under the seats is the problem and I have to reset them every so often. Same issue that other 2006 Sienna owners are having.
Air bag has gone off for no apparent reason repair is above $1,500. Talked to owner he meant to say that the airbag light is on, not that the air bags had deployed.
Airbag light comes on an won't turn off.
The airbag light went on and blinking. Took the car to the dealer and was told it cost $852 to fix the "wire harness" issue. I checked on line and realized there are many complaints on this same issue. It is a common safety issue and should be taken care by Toyota. By the way, the same airbag light was on in 2008 and the airbag sensor was "recalibrated" by the dealership under new car warranty. I thought they replaced the airbag as they told me because it took more than one week to get my van back. But when I looked into this now, the repair was actually "recalibrate airbag sensor".
Blinking airbag light appeared randomly, no causal incident. Repair will cost over $1000. Airbag wiring should not go bad on it's own after so few years and so few miles.
After leaving a balise Toyota dealership to get 2 new tires, I was driving home and the srs indicator light started blinking. Brought it back to be told it was defective and would cost about $1000. 00 to fix.
1) airbags: blinking airbag light. Toyota service bulletin - $1200 repair. Unsure of safety implications. 2) suspension, steering rack. Leaking power steering fluid. Needs replacement of entire rack. $1200 repair. 3) electrical: power sliding rear door will only function in manual mode. Toyota customer service informs me of a customer support program for problem. Dealer failed to tell me about it. $1400 for repair. Dealer estimated trade in value for van: $6000.
The airbag light on the dash intermittently flashes.
The airbag light is flashing at random interval both stationary or in motion. Unplugging and plugging the connectors many times can sometimes solve the problem for a few days or weeks. The airbag lamp would come back. It's very unsafe for driving with whole family in the car. Need a recall. This has happened for years since I owned the car 6 years ago.
After starting the engine and after being parked at our home overnight the airbag light came on and stayed on intermittently for no apparent reason.
The front driver airbag light showed up on the dashboard and began to blink about 2 weeks ago. Took the van into a Toyota dealer to have it checked out. Sensors need to be replaced for $700! after researching on the internet, it appears that the 2006 Toyota Sienna's has had numerous complaints for the airbag defects. I'm thinking Toyota needs to be responsible for this safety defect and issue a recall for the airbags to be repaired/replaced. Many consumers are driving the 2006 Sienna's with faulty airbags since it is too expensive to fix which is a safety issue that someone needs to be concerned about and address with Toyota!.
Air bag light turned on at 78,080 miles. Took it to dealer and was told the passenger side air bag and floor harness needed replacement. Repair was quoted at around $1500. 00. After discussions with dealer and trying to get an explanation as to why an air bag would need replacement with just normal operation of the vehicle, my dealer was able to get the parts covered by Toyota and I paid for labor $861. 00. In January 2013, the air bag light turned on again at 84,132 miles. Took it to the dealer and was told the driver side air bag needed replacement and the harness could be fixed. My dealership offered me the same deal as Toyota would pay for the parts and me the labor $796. 00. I had my car fixed because I did not want to compromise my and my family safety but had every intention by then to file a complaint with Toyota which I did on January 24, 2013. I told them I should not be responsible for any of the costs of the repairs; faulty air bags should be the responsibility of the manufacturer. I also told them I did not understand why there was no recall on those air bags after everything I read online. Toyota researched my case, talked with my dealership and after 3-4 conversations in about 1 week period, my claim was denied. They took no responsibility, reminded me that they had already provided the parts (because I was a good customer at my dealership) and offered me $500. 00 towards my next car purchase should I be in the market for a new car in the next one to two years! funny!! as there will never be another Toyota in my driveway.
My wife and I got into our van on the 19 of may and when we started the van the airbag light came on. When I took it to the Toyota garage I was told I would need a new passenger airbag and two wiring harnesses for the van at a cost of $1200. I felt this was a safety defect from Toyota and have contacted Toyota customer relations on several occasions to remedy the problem. As of yet it has not been resolved and is under review according to the last email I received from them. I have seen numerous complaints on the web about this same airbag issue and I as well as other customers feels that this is a defect that Toyota should fix before people are killed due to faulty airbags.
The driver side airbag light has turned on.
The air bag light warning of my 2006 Sienna (only 45,000 miles) started blinking and didn't stop. According to dealer who run a diagnostic (open circuit b0111 open squib) the circuit wiring harness needed to be replaced. Total cost over $2,000. I used my insurance and had it fixed. The car stayed in the dealer for a whole month since according to them the part was being ordered directly from Toyota and it was coming from japan. The problem recurred the very next day after I took the car from the dealer after fixed. Took it back to the dealer and was informed that according to Toyota service bulletin a kit needs to be installed at the harness located under the front passenger seat and that the front passenger air bag needs to be replaced. The total cost will be another $1,000. I was advised to contact Toyota customer service to learn what Toyota could do since this is a safety issue caused by a faulty electrical component from manufacturing. I don't believe my insurance will cover for this extra cost. Checking online I noticed that hundreds of other 2006 Siennas are having the same issue. I believe Toyota should issue a recall on this particular model and fix it. I was a happy and satisfied Toyota customer until now and depending on the outcome of my call to Toyota I might not consider Toyota in my next car purchase, unfortunately.
2006 Toyota Sienna. Consumer writes in regards to repair cost concerning air bag and seat belt issues the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for an inspection. The service advisor, informed the consumer it would cost $ 3,985 to repair the air bag issue, but stated it was a seat belt issue that required a floor wiring harness which needed to be replaced.
Sienna 200-2006 has three major problems: 1) the door check mount cracks (so as for the welded parts inside the door to crack from each other by itself). 2) from time to time the airbag light keep blinking, and upon investigation, there is a problem with the airbag socket that can disconnect anytime upon changing the position of the driver seat. 3) the paint of the body fades fast (as for a 6 years old garage kept car the paint to fade, is something unique).
I recently had my airbag light flashing on my dash and the dealership said both rh and lh air bag wiring harnesses with sensors will need to be replaced. The cost to fix $5335. I recently had my power sliding door go out. The door opened but would not close. The cost to fix $1800.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that whenever starting the ignition, the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis and they detected a problem with the air bag. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The failure mileage was unavailable.
Our Toyota Sienna 2006 airbag light had been going on and off on the instrument panel. Took it to the Toyota dealership, they insist they have never heard of this problem. There are multiple complaints on the internet for this model and year. Not to mention other models being recalled for the same problem. . They are not diagnosing the cause but trying to replace the entire system. (wiring harness, sensors and airbags) I believe an investigation as to the faulty component or components are in order. Are the replacement parts they are wanting to use the same as they faulty ones. Are any of they airbag components in the Sienna the same as the Toyota highlander. (sensors chips, wiring harness). The dealership says they are using the same components that were originally were installed. Have read multiple forum complaints of people on there second or third total replacement of the entire airbag system. The dealership said it could take one to two months to get the parts because of national shortage. Again a shortage, are too many Siennas have the same problem, or are the components that are faulty similar to the highlander and are being used in that recall.
Passenger side air bag light is on. And the bulletin code is dtcb0111.
Flashing airbag light. Dealer says right airbag wire harness need to be replaced. Quoting $3500 for repairs. Warranty expired 4 months ago!.
