The vehicle takes long to stop even after changing the brake pads , rotors, brake shoes, with new components. The rear makes a thud sound when accelerating or coming to a stop. The leaf springs also squeak and I noticed after they changed my frame the leaf springs were not change even though there is a recall on the leaf springs and it was rusting? the steering intermediate shaft started to make this loud thud sound when going over bumps around 5-10 mph. There is also a recall on this, but my local dealer says there isn't one? why doesn't the main branch talk to or update the system for all Toyota branches for recalls?.

Vehicle continues to have brake shudder while decelerating from freeway speeds. As the brakes heat up, the brake shudder gets more and more pronounced. I have had this vehicle in to the dealership for maintenance on this issue 5 times in the last 6 months to address the issue. TSB has been done to address rear axle issues, all recalls have been completed and rear drums were replaced under warranty once. Vehicle is still under manufacturer's 2yr/25,000 mile Toyotacare warranty, but manufacturer refused to replace the drums/rotors. I have taken the vehicle to a different shop and had front rotors/pads replaced, along with the rear drums and there is still a vibration coming from the brakes while decelerating. Please advise.

Heard valves tapping alot of time. Reported and took to Toyota. They said no code no work. They gave the line of when this gas hits this part then this one tries to catch up or burn excess fuel. Out of 40 plus years and puchasing many vehicle I never been told that before. I talked to other 2017 owners and they dont have this issue. Also the brakes make metalic clunking noises moving backwars and fowrds when braking. Thier answer was floating valves. And again this issue isnt on other tacomma owners. I tryed three times with valve issues. Same old line no code no work. Maybe pads are worn but still have 70 % left on pads.

From day one the Tacoma vibrates and shutters when breaking. The dealership said that Toyota would not look at it until I drove 1,500 miles first. The first time I brought in to the dealership they said they could not find anything wrong and it was ok. The second time I brought it to the dealership they said they had to shave the front rotors and sand the brake pads. The third time I brought it to the dealership they said it had defective rear bent axles and they had to replace those components. I understand Toyota has been aware of these issues for several years.

Warped rotors at 30k miles, now again at 43k, dealer will not acknowledge complaint, my 2011 had same issue brakes repaired under warranty . When downhill or hard brake, steering wheel will vibrate when brakes are applied. Dealer confirmed pads are still good but rotor warped.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. While driving at 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but it took an abnormal amount of time to stop the vehicle. When the brakes were engaged, the vehicle stopped abruptly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake pad fractured from the vehicle. The technician diagnosed that the rotors, pads, and discs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,500. The VIN was unavailable.

Lever assembly and brake drum for real wheel emergency brakes rusted to the point that the emergency brake is inoperable (seized). Condition has caused rear brake to be partially engaged whether parking brake is pulled or not. This wears out the rear brake pads very fast, and makes it impossible to apply the emergency brake on an incline. Will not prevent the vehicle from rolling down hill, nor will it stop the vehicle during an emergency application of the brake. It is no longer functioning as an emergency brake.

I bought a 2008 Toyota Tacoma (new). Unfortunately, last year I began having some braking issues. Even-though it was not scheduled, I had my mechanic change out the original front disc brakes to better quality pads. When this took place, my mechanic advised me that my brakes were over-heating and turning the fluid brown. There also seems to be problems with the quality of the rear drum brakes. My truck experiences inconsistency every time I stop. Toyota says nothing is wrong. I believe this is another issue with quality as I and many others have had with the unintended acceleration.

During a 23000 mile servicing, camelback Toyota informed me I would need to have the brakes serviced, because 95% of the pads have worn down. I am aware of a recall on these trucks lower ball joint, but the service agent did not tell me that at the time I brought it in. I was never informed by the dealer of this recall. Now, I am being charged for repairs, while the vehicle is still under warranty, for brake system failure (excessive/premature pad wear), and I believe this damage is because of the recall suspension issue.
The consumer stated that the brakes pads on his vehicle was wearing out too fast. He stated he is constantly replacing them every 3 months.

The contact stated there was a Toyota recall on 2004-2004 Toyota Tacomas regarding the frontal ball joints. The consumer has a 2001 Toyota Tacoma which did not fall under the recall campaign, but the consumer had to replace both front ball joints on June 8, 2004. There was a vibration and a rubbing noise coming from the front end of vehicle. This was the same problem that was stated in the recall. The consumer contacted the manufacturer; they opened a case and did provide the consumer with case number 200508100951. The rotors and pads were replaced.
