The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated while driving 20 mph and making a right turn, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the electronic fuel injection (efi) main fuse had blown due to a short circuit. The dealer replaced the electronic fuel injection (efi) main fuse; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the subframe was severely corroded, including transmission components and fuel system components. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as unknown recalls had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

While driving down the road with my driver seat warmer on, the heating element and/or associated electronics burned a hole in the seat canvas and through the jacket I was wearing. I think a small fire started which I put out with my finger and then I turned off the seat heater.

Iq wireless charging pad gets hot pad has bubbled and dislodged from its place. Pad was replaced already for the same issue in Feb-2020. Now the same issue is recurring. The dealer said they had seen many more vehicles with the same problem. Charging pad gets hot when not in use. I contacted Toyota customer care to report and ask for advice, and they just said thank you for your feedback vehicle is out of warranty nothing we can do about the issue. Explained this is an ongoing issue through this style of vehicle and should be noted or looked into as a possible safety concern. They said thanks for the feedback.

System failure lost all directional and hazard lights on this vehicle . With no directional signals can cause a serious accident. Vehicle is at dealership. Component has not been inspected by the manufacture . No warning just stop working. This vehicle has no separate flasher relay. Toyota did not honor the last request to fix a electrical issue. Should be a recall for this issue as other Toyota Tacoma owners had the same issue.

This VIN number was totaled due to a bent frame after being rear ended on June 10th. I fear my insurance company (usaa) will attempt to commit fraud by not reporting the title as salvage.

Full tank of fuel and dashboard is showing 30 miles until empty warning. I have received the engine warning ?? sign on my dashboard as well when this happens. This issue also affects me on the road when I am pressing the accelerator and the engine will not respond, this gas been an issue since they did the fuel pup recall. With a delay in acceleration comes a delay on the brake system as well, two intenses that I've had to press my foot as hard as possible on the brake to avoid a collusion with another vehicle. The last time this happened was on 4/17/2022.

My problem was associated with the air bag warning light. It came on and so I took my truck to big two Toyota in chandler az. Dealer said I had a faulty clock spring assembly that will prevent the air bag system from functioning properly and was a major safety risk. . . . So I let dealer remove and replace it for $511. 82. This should have been safety recall. . . . Please look into this issue for me and other Toyota Tacoma truck owners. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Tacoma. The contact noticed the seat warmer had malfunctioned. The contact noticed that the amp for the wire relating the seat warmer for the driver and passenger side had burnt out. The plastic covering that is used the contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been officially diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened case regarding the matter. The approximate failure mileage was 5,500.

The driver's side seat heating element failed due to a defective seat heater amp. When independently researching the failure, which could have simply been an unconnected wire, I discovered the amp and wiring had an electrical seizure and the wiring had burned the amp. The heating amp sits underneath the seat and with the right conditions could cause the seat to catch fire. The issue has been reported to Toyota corporate.

Rear power window rattles when in down position. Most notable when closing door, sounds like some has come loose!.

Driving in a highway state 81 towards harrisonburg virginia when my 2002 Toyota Tacoma , parts or equipment underneath the truck collapse cause of out of control of the truck , the whole shock and the ball joint in the front all the way to the back, the passenger side and driver side fall to the ground, while driving did not hit any one but it will cause my life at risk . I dont know what happend if I can call some as a recall , since the beginning of 2002 when I bought the truck brand new at steven Toyota harrisonburg , virginia , not even a year yet notice that underneath from pipe to the shkicj the whole underrneath start to rusty bad but no one ever told me how bad it is. I love my 2002 Toyota Tacoma . I kept the truck for almost 20 years now I believe im only the one in page county town of stanley virginia driving a Toyota Tacoma . I took care of my truck nothing but only 135,000 miles on it. , mosty everyday I have been ask or many people like to buy my truck . Im not very rich person im not retired yet but I got disable for a year and my income not enough but with the help of some family I manage to pay the towing campony . Now the truck set in to my mechanic told them to fix and what ever it taskes of course will cost me more money. I will lost my truck if I dont have money to fix it and my insurance will not pay anything . This the first thing im going tp work on it after all holidays . Lots iofthey towed it , charge me then pay shop n mechanic tow it ,will start on it ,cost lots of money to fix it told them to fix it , holidays have not start yet , I might not be able to pay . ! I need my tyruck or sue/ so proud on it . Why happened why fell off . Left the truck at the highwa police spoted say I abandon the truck , but no charges , no , just done state inspection , no warning sign, by now ill be dead at risk , dealer ignorant, rude Toyota dealer. Where I bought the truck brand new , so ignorant carrying Toyotas name , should not work at Toyota tha.

Pcs malfunction, vsc malfunctions, data transmitter for codes to dealership doesn't work, transmisson jerk/lost in gears, from stop to go would jerk into gear, hot air comes out of steering wheel (video proof), air coming through window controls. When the pre-collision system had its malfunction the truck took complete control which gave me no access to breaks or gas, when pcs system kicked off truck jerked really hard & started accelerating on its own causing very high rpms then just stopped accelerating. Transmission would occasionally seem to have an improper shift & jerk.  I took my vehicle to Toyota of denton for the 5k service, & stated issues with the pcs & vsc malfunctions shown on the dashbord.  denton dealership said don't worry we will take care of it. The itemized reciept doesn't show issues were looked at; & I kept having the same issues. So I took my truck back to the denton dealership 2nd time & was told "no malfunction light so no ssues were there" by the service manager. Who also said "the truck sends malfunction codes to a computer at the dealership, but no codes were sent. " which made me feel like there was more wrong with the truck, including electronics, data sender/reciever, & vehicle alert system relay via dash board aswell. Contacted corp. Informing them of my issues & concerns making it the 3rd time trying to resolve ongoing issues & requested a field inspector from corp. Look at it instead of a dealership. When complaining to corp. I stated hot air comes from the steering wheel after 1 hr driving it. Field inspector only drove it 45 miles & said nothings wrong with it. I drove this truck for 8,557 & he didnt find anything wrong in the little 45 mile test; yet the black box showed several pending codes on my truck & also the inspectors truck which is the same year & model. Black box data shows pending code on 1/12/21, 4 days before I acquired it; none again until 2/6/21 & then pending codes at least twice a month until 11/22/21. Bbd pic proof.

The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated while driving 60 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the traction control, collision control, and lsd warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving and the warning light turned off independently. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer where the vehicle was currently being serviced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. I was my 2021 Toyota Tacoma home after work on the highway at night at 11:00 pm. While on the highways there was highway construction and traffic was coming to a stop. I was driving in the slow lane doing 60-65. As I approached the stopped traffic I let my foot of the accelerator pedal and put my foot on the brake pedal to slow down, as I did this the rpm's jumped up to 4000 and the truck went to take off full speed on its own. I held the brake pedal down to the floor and I shifted the truck from drive mode to sport mode than back to drive mode. ( I panicked) but soon as I did that the engine stopped accelerating thankfully because I had many stopped cars in front of me that I would have plowed into. I love my truck but I am not scared to drive it always have my hand on the shift waiting for it to happen again possibly.

The high mount rear stop lamp leaks water into the cab. The water channels in through a cheap gasket, down the inside of the frame, destroying the cushions and plastic through moisture and mildew. Toyota corporation and precision Toyota of tucson (service) az, both say the problem is only covered by the regular 36,000 mileage, 3 year warranty. They want to charge me $575 to replace the light. However, the known issue doesn't occur because of miles driven or even age of the vehicle. I live in the desert and it has not rained significantly since I bought the truck new in 2017, according to the national weather service. This year, with record rains, water is freely seeping in to the cab. Toyota should recall Tacomas with this issue and replace the cheap gasket it used to manufacture these trucks.

Vehicle has been jerking itself while driving at both low speeds and high speeds. Had taken it to the dealership sept. 2020 in order to get the ecu/pcm reflashed/updated to resolve issue; issue persists. Now, at highway speeds, 80% of the time it will be jerking itself, as off being momentarily shut off and on. Caused my rear end to fish tail on highway.

I was driving my truck a 2019 trd off road Tacoma from san diego to la I was on the 605 freeway in the fast lane when I noticed smoke smell and then I noticed fire flames by the air conditioner and the phone charging plate I proceed to exit the freeway thankfully I did not get in a car accident with any other vehicles however I was unable to stop and put out the fire. It's very upsetting because at no fault of my own I am now lob obligated to find another vehicle and I am not in the financial or credit position that I was when I bought my truck that is now a total loss by my insurance it covers my loan but not much after that so the fact that I've heard that this has been an issue for a few other Tacoma's and it's not even listed yet there's a problem the fact that this is not within my control as to what happened and there's nothing but OH well good luck getting another car something needs to change.

The check engine light will not go off. A Toyota independent service/repair facility checked everything and said it is electrical board problem. I rec'd a safety recall letter from Toyota stating there is a malfunction indicator lamp causing the check engine light to stay on. It states I will receive a 2nd notification when remedy is available that I have not rec'd. They want me to pay the dealer (approx. 300-400 dollars) then send documents of repair to Toyota corp for reimbursement! I do not have that kind of money to wait and see if I will be reimbursed. Why are they dragging their feet not sending an actual recall that they will pay their dealers after they perform the work? why is this recall not noted above. Are they trying to not have to do anything? in red, the letter states "this is an important safety recall:" but the Toyota dealer "team Toyota" knew nothing about it,said they could check and fix, but would have to pay for it then maybe be reimbursed by Toyota but they couldn't say I would be. Left turn signal quit working while driving on a city street making a left turn. Toyota took 4. 5 hours to diagnose the problem. Said it was in the instrument cluster affecting the turn signal and odometer. Said it would take a week to get part and they needed to know how many miles I would drive in that week because the odometer had to be set to existing miles plus the miles I drive during the week. One week later was told the part was on back order and it would be 30 to 60 days for the part. I googled the problem and found many complaints of "left turn signal going out" on Toyota Tacomas dating as far back as 2012. Obviously Toyota knows of the problem. Have they fixed the problem on the replacement part or is it pron to go out again. How many people have had to drive for one or two months without a left turn signal, how many accidents have occured because of not having a left turn signal, how many citations have been issued for failure to use turn signal. How many vehicles do not have the correct mileage on the odometer, mine wont unless they contact me and ask how many miles I have driven prior to shipping the part as I was told it had to be set at the factory before shipping. In addition the diagnostic coast was $150. 00 the part will be $750. 00 plus labor to install. I feed Toyota should have known exactly what the problem was when told the left turn signal quit. I googled it in less that 5 minutes. So far no invoices to share.

The contact researched and read that the module underneath the seat could potentially burn causing the seat warmer not to operate as designed. The contact stated that it was a common failure. Every so often I heard a bang coming from the drivetrain while I'm driving and also when I put the truck on reverse the sound it's loud. I don't know it's a transmission problem or the joints with the differential. But it's getting bad. Also I have problems with the charging system and it was brought in and the day there is no problem but for some reason some times lights will come up out of the bue.

A winter storm hit my area and I needed to engage my four wheel drive, the four wheel drive wouldn't engage. The indicator light on the dash would only flash. My truck only went a short distance before getting stuck on the road leaving me stranded.

Microphone not working, causes me to use my cellphone, causing distracted driving. To answer a call I have to unplug the phone and stop to make a call. Cannot contact the Toyota collision center.

Was told by the mechanic that there was a bulletin to replace if an issue before the 3 years 36,000 miles. Have had the truck for 4. 5 years and now the bsm left side needs to be replaced. Only have 26,567 miles on the truck! if they had an issue, why aren't they replacing them if the issues happen within the 36,000.

The trac off and check engine lights come on periodically. I have to disconnect the battery and take the gas cap off and put it back on and reconnect the battery when it happens. Its a pain in the butt. I thought I saw a recall for the gas cap seal to correct the problem, but the dealership said nope.

Cruise control became finicky spring/summer 2019. I found articles stating that it could be the clockspring/spiral cable. I replaced the clockspring and that fixed the cruise control issue, but it caused my airbag light to turn on. I have been driving around with the airbag light on for the last year and a half. Over that time, the radio controls on the steering wheel have quit working (first the volume, then the channel, and the mode buttons). These haven't been working for at least 3 months now. Just yesterday, the cruise control went out completely. No warning signs or acting up. It just quit. From what research I have done, this issue was handled under a recall, but the recall only applies to the Tacoma models without audio controls on the steering wheel. Has that changed at all? why were not all versions/configurations covered?.

Occasionally when driving the speedometer does not show the accurate speed such as the speedometer show 0 when going 30mph. There is also a weird metal clanking noise which sounds like its coming from the transmission and sounds like its trying to shift gear while in reverse or drive. Also the air conditioning fan motor has cracked and when turned on sounds like a motorcycle reving it's engine.

Iphone will not stay connected with my bluetooth radio making it able to have hands free calling. I am using a iphone 11pro max.
