Vibrating brakes, dealer has replaced rotors and drums with shoes and pads six times now.
Braking system wears out very quickly, thus causing inconsistent braking/vibrations. Rotors and drums wear out after about 5-7kmi of use.
There is a constant vibration when the brakes are applied. The dealer claims that they could not duplicate the problem. The vibration continued immediately after the service visit. It is more than an annoyance, especially scary at highway speeds.
The brakes vibrate very badly upon braking.
I took the truck to van trow Toyota in monroe, la due to the front end shaking when braking. The truck had around 15000 miles on it at the time. The service department took the truck for a ride and then looked at it in the shop. I was told that that brakes where not covered under warranty and that I should take it to midas because they would fix the problem cheaper then Toyota. The guys at midas said the rear brakes where not working and that the truck was stopping on just the front brakes. Midas adjusted the rear brakes, replaced the front pads, and turned the front rotors. I was charged around $200. The truck now has almost 30,000 miles and I am having the same problem with it again. I am going to take it to Toyota and see if they will do anything but I do not expect them to. This is my first Toyota and it may be my last. If I can not get this fixed soon then I may be looking for a new truck. Maybe that is what Toyota needs to hear so they will fix the problem.
Brake pads/ rotors and drums are prematurely wearing, cause unknown. Please give any further details.
When vehicle is driven down a hill and when brakes are applied extreme vibration occurs within brake pedal, cause unknown. Please give any further details.
Strong vibration when brakes are applied, car not driven severely or abused, first noted mild vibration at less than 5000 miles.
Brakes had to be replaced at approx 18,000 miles due to severe vibration in steering wheel and brake pedal when applying brakes ,especially at highway speeds. By the time vehical had reached 45000 miles, the brakes had been replaced six (6) additional times, and for the same reason. Dealership very cooperative and has advised me that Toyota knows there is a problem with brakes on Tundra and has assigned a "techniqal team " to solve the problem. What do I and other Tundra owners, especially those with vehicals out of warrenty like mine,do until the brake problem is solved. Toyota customer relation office in cincinnati unhelpful and provided misinformation to both wife and myself.
Rear drum and front disc brakes and rotors had to be replaced since date of purchase. Vehicle vibrates when brake pedal is pressed. This happens on wet and dry roads. Brakes have been repaired five times.
I have had the brakes replaced twice on this car once at 8k miles and again at 14k I am alerting you of this problem as I have seen many others with the same problem. The brakes begin to shudder and the steering wheel vibrates. I am running on a new set of discs in the front and rotors in the back after only 14,000 miles.
Brakes create severe vibration when hot. Dealer service department reports "cannot duplicate" and makes no attempt to repair.
While applying the brakes the rear brakes locked up. Driver was able to unlock them. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the drums needed to be replaced, and replaced them three times, but the problem recurred. Also, front brakes were replaced seven time due manufacturer's design flaw.
