2 Forward Collision Avoidance problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/17/2023

The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph the vehicle crashed into a tree causing severe damage to the frontend. During the crash the air bags did not deploy and the collision avoidance system did not activate to prevent the crash from occurring. No injuries were reported. Failure Date: 12/01/2017

Also, the pre-collision warning indicator illuminated. Avondale Toyota (1005 w papago fwy, avondale, az) was contacted, but the failure could not be replicated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v122000 (electronic stability control); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Avondale Toyota was contacted again and refused to repair the vehicle due to its age. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
