6 Horn Assembly problem of the 2016 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/09/2018

Low note electric horn intermitten failure: the low note electric horn becomes inoperative below 25 degrees fahrenheit while pressing the steering wheel horn pad/switch. The high note horns operates during this. I have had several close call encounters driving on the road where I needed the horn during these periods of low temperature and the horn didn't provide adequate audible warning. I have brought this up to my local dealership and they were "unable to duplicate customer concern". This is a $50 part that should of been replaced under good will if problem could not have been duplicated even when I provided video evidence of the horn inoperative. I do not feel safe driving a vehicle that is under warranty and still making payments on with an inoperative horn. I can provide the necessary dealership invoice to NHTSA upon request.

7 Horn Assembly problem of the 2003 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 10/02/2017

Spiral cable, also called clockspring, failed, identical to other Toyota spiral cable failures on other models that were recalled. Another recall needs to be issued that corrects this dangerous problem (it disables the driver airbag and horn) for affected Tundra models.

I was headed to springfield on I-95 and a car was coming into my lane and I tried to blow the horn and there was nothing. I ended up swerving into the left lane with traffic coming. It's happen a few times. I checked my fuse and it was fine. I ended up having to replace the air bag clock spring. It was a close call for a pile up situation let me tell you. $365. 33 to have the air bag clock spring replaced. That should of never happen.

11 Horn Assembly problem of the 2011 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 03/03/2014

I bought my Tundra with 7 miles on it so I know its not neglect that causes this problem it's poor quality part . . The clock spring under the steering wheel is malfunctioning my horn doesn't work it only has 60k on it I've been a loyal Toyota technician as well as ii\ owned a few I called the hotline (Toyota)theirs nothing they could do for me I will not recommend Toyota to my customers any longer poor quality parts cost the consumer not the dealer its a shame the once mighty Toyota corp has become just like the american counterparts.

12 Horn Assembly problem of the 2013 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

The truck horn does not work when pressing on the steering wheel. It will work when the panic button is pressed. I bought the truck from the original owner, a friend of mine, and he believes it never worked. My brother has a similar Tundra 2014 model and his horn has started working only intermittingly. I believe this may be a common problem.

13 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 03/01/2012

My truck has 2 parts that have gone bad, the air injection pumps and air switching valves. Toyota issued a warranty policy bulletin regarding these parts on Tundra models 2007-2010 and 2008-2010 sequoia models. My 2005 Tundra was not included in this customer support program. However, my truck has the same part that is on the 2007-2010 Tundras and has malfunctioned. This is an issue that Toyota has been aware of and that was the reason for the warranty enhancement for these parts on the 2007-2010 Tundras. Toyota has refused to include the 2005 models in the same customer support program to replace these defective parts, they have said they would pay only half of the costs to replace them. If its the same part as the 2007-2010 that Toyota knows were defective, then why not include all model Tundras and sequoias that have these parts? the warranty enhancement was extended to 10 years/150,000 miles. My 2005 has approximately 121,000 miles and was checked by my local dealership whom reported the problem to me and stated what the defective parts were and they also gave me the information regarding the customer support program(ztq). Please give feedback to whatever you may find out. Thank you, jeff sinkhorn.

14 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/01/2010

The engine shut off while I was driving on the road and making a left turn. I realized the engine shut off when I pressed down on the accelerator and nothing happened. The radio was still on the headlight and horn worked. I switched the battery out with a new one. The engine would still not start. I would turn the key and only the radio would turn on. No noise or response from the engine could be heard with old and new battery. Vehicle was towed to Toyota dealer, they replaced what they said was a blown out ignition fuse. As I drove out of the parking lot from the Toyota dealer the engine shut off again exactly how it had occurred before. I was less than one block from the dealer when this happened. It is currently at the Toyota dealer.
